Thank you so much for the opportunity, and thanks Jezzi for the tag :o

  1. My favorite winter memory is actually really recent. Putting up the first ever christmas tree that I've ever had with my roommates this year. I've litterally never had a christmas tree like this and i nearly cried.

  2. My favorite winter smell is pine. I absolutely love the smell of christmas pine trees.

  3. my favorite winter food is Boiled Custard. I used to go crazy for Egg Nog, but after I became slightly allergic to nutmeg, I could not have it anymore. But now i prefer Boiled Custard, it's creamier and more filling.

Fave winter memory- I have so many wonderful winter memories, it's impossible to narrow it down. Snow sledding with cheap plastic sleds as kids. The huge blizzard we had in the mid 90s...can't remember the year off the top of my head, nor how many feet of snow it was (4 or 5 maybe); just remember Dad picking little sis and me up and tossing us off of the porch into the snow (seems a bit dangerous now LOL but fun stuff back then). Blasting old Christmas songs (Andy Williams <3) and putting up the tree and Christmas decorations as a kid. Etc etc etc.

Fave wintry smell- Wood smoke. Not just wintry, but my favorite smell in general. Growing up, my family would "do Christmas" at a few locations (both sets of grandparents and cousins). One of them was one set of grandparents (and aunt, uncle, cousins) who lived about 45 minutes away on a farm. The drive used to seem much longer, but it was filled with the scent of wood smoke from the chimneys of all of the rural houses along the way. So that smell always evokes lovely Christmas memories, but it also just smells so dang heavenly anytime. I live on that same family farm now, by the way, next to my one remaining grandmother (RIP Papaw). :)

Fave wintry food- Guess I'll just go with good ol' sugar cookies for this one. I would have said something like turkey, etc before, but we went vegan (for the animals!) 3 years ago, and I'm still working on finding yummy recipes that will hopefully become holiday staples. Ooh, sausage rolls with puff pastry, Impossible brand "sausage", and some herbs and spices are chef's kiss delish!

thank you for the ping! <3 We love lefse, too! We're not Scandinavian in the slightest, but hubby is learning Norwegian and is in love with the culture, so we munch on a lot of scandi goodies :D maybe you'd like to join in ^^

Probably the year we didn't have a topper for our tree, so we stuck a winged Draculaura doll up as the topper! All the pink on her worked well with the white tree and rainbow lights. My favorite smell would probably have to be apple cinnamon. My sister-in-law was always burning that scent of candle around the holidays and it just stuck. Hmm, favorite food... I can't decide if it would have been my Mom's dressing she made or the peanut butter pie my sister-in-law would make. x_x;

Winter memory: My favorite memories consist of my brother and I sledding down the big hill where we used to live! Gosh, I miss it so much!

Winter Smell: The smell of my mom's favorite candle, Apple Pumpkin! I now buy it for myself every year lol.

Winter food: Raspberry thumbprint cookies, and also my mom's homemade mac and cheese! She used to put 20 dollars worth of cheese in that thing!!

this is fun!

Oh, boy, this one is a fun one! A food that is uniquely wintery can combine with a favorite memory-- growing up, my parents needed a way to keep my sister and I up til midnight for New Year's, and also out of trouble. Therefore, we would spend hours making jello parfaits. The fanciest of glasses, many flavors all layered nicely. The freezer and fridge would be FULL of jello by the time we were done. Arguably too much jello, but it's cheap and easy fun that's easy to clean up.

My birthday is also Xmas Eve, so I have a ton of memories related to that. Birthday cake never tasted so wintery. 🎂 We never really did the Xmas ham, but we always did Pancake-sundays. Loved when that would collide.

I loved sledding growing up. One place I lived there was this massive sledding hill next to the local hotel that everyone would go to. My sister actually made the front page of the newspaper when she went off a jump and lost her hat. (It was a very small town.)

- I don't think I've ever pinged you to this group before. Check out this giveaway and happy Lumi!

One of my favorite winter memories is sledding on the hill by my grandma's house on a wonderfully snowy day, and then coming inside to make hot chocolate as a treat to warm up <3

As for smell, I'd have to go with pine! Whether it's from a christmas tree or candle xD

Foodwise, maybe gingerbread anything. Cookies, a gingerbread house, crust for a pie or something else, you name it. Wonderfully wintry!

My favorite winter memory is the first big snowfall in New York City in 2020. It was wonderful to walk around and enjoy the city streets without the usual holiday crowds.

My fave wintry scent is Christmas evergreens. Real tree or bust!

I love to make shortbread during the winter holidays. The buttery taste is so delicious.

Check out this giveaway. 😊

to this day i love the smell of baked cookies and my favorite christmas meal is wild game with dumplings and red cabbage... oh man...

Well, since I live in the South Hemisphere, Winter is in June-September, so, don't find it weird if I separate memories by season and time of the year!

a) favorite winter memory/favorite year-end memory My favorite winter memory was when I was really small and threw those little paper bangers (?) on the floor during St. John's festivals. My favorite year-end memory was a Christmas when my father gifted me a lot of books and seemed proud of my reading habits.

b) favorite wintry smell/favorite year-end smell My favorite wintry smell is the smell of corn being cooked, while my favorite year-end smell is the smell of rabanadas, a Portuguese dessert we consume during the holidays here in Brazil.

c) and favorite food that is uniquely wintry/favorite year-end food My favorite wintry food is curau, which is a sweet corn custard/pudding (depends on who makes it). As for year-end foods, I like cherries, dried dates, roasted tender ham... And rabanadas, of course!

Let's do this!

I have a few favorite winter memories, one of them being when I was really little and got the flu? It was near Christmas and my room was too cold to sleep in so we moved my bed to my parents room, and I remember drinking apple cider for my cough while my parents watched Star Trek :D the flu was rough but I was with them so I got through it. My favorite wintery smell: For now Imma say Peppermint (because I can hardly remember anything else rn 😅). My dad used to make Peppermint tea and we'd watch The Nutcracker together while we drank it. I think one year Mom actually watched it with us :) Favorite wintery food would probably be Broccoli cheese soup or Clam chowder. My grandmother always made both around Winter so it became something I got used to. Or gumbo, which was always either made by my dad, or my dad and my grandmother.

I love the smell of evergreen in the room or freshly baked cookies. And my favorite wintry food is wintertea. Like baked apple tea or cherry marzipan tea.

One of my favorite winter memories is the family meeting on christmas eve, where we all do secret santa and come together.

-I remember the years when we would get tons of snow, and I think in the earlier aughts it had given us nearly a foot of snow. We have a big driveway, so part of the days leading up to Christmas were spent shoveling snow. I had a blast making a snowman with my parents, throwing snowballs at my dad and just in general having a good time

-Pine is a scent I typically associate with winter time c:

-Favorite Wintry Food; Hot Cocoa!! With the little marshmallows in it c:

My favorite christmas memory is back when the family was together and everyone wasn't in dumb texas or something smh.

Favorite smell is the smell of the spices to cook the food. (pictured below)

Food - in my house we make panes con pollo, chicken sandwiches but the chicken is stewed in this really delicious sauce that gives it a great flavor and we make a specific type of slaw(? sorry, dont know the actual translations), i'll post a pic of it under the cut. it's super tasty. Pan con pollo, the Salvador way

SPOILER (click to toggle) If you like a drier sandwich (I do)

If you like a juicier sandwich (traditional way) AND THIS STUFF BELOW IS SOOOO GOOD you can eat it just by itself warm

My favorite winter memory is always driving around to look at Christmas lights with my mom, dad, sister, and grandma. We had a few stores and houses near us who really went all out, so it was so much fun to see them. My favorite wintery smell is the smell of pine/Christmas trees! And a winter food is Christmas cookies. Do cookies count as food? Lol my mom always made so many amazing different cookies that we only would have at Christmas time each year so I always associate them with winter as we’d have tins of cookies that would last into January. Thanks for the chance!

have you given this a try yet?

(thank you to for my siggie)
