My first thoughts on reading this were: 'Did it get nerfed or something? It doesn't look like it would have been a gamebreaker even before tiers. Also, can an entirely 1P game really be said to have a "meta"?'

Well, I looked it up. It's from her first appearance! It doesn't just predate the tier system (2012), it predates the armory revamp (2010). It must have had totally different stats! There really was PvP! I had completely forgotten. What did it do that was so amazing?

Unfortunately stealing Nightlady's look seems to have offended her; no Shrieks for me this year.

For anyone who peeked at the armory stats on the Scythe of the Widow and dismissed it out of hand: it boosts speed by 30, and after a cumulative speed boost of 50 it procs a secondary attack—15 :dmg:dark:, 5 :dmg🔥, 6-12 :dmg:physical:, 40 :block🔥, and (I believe) 40-85 flat :heal:. At 29 average icons and 3 mod slots, this is still a couple of grades behind the best of t7 offensively, but it could get quite cheap and it does hit harder than anything with a comparable heal.

The fire block is interesting and I like that we're trying out meaningful defense in the mid-tiers, but I suspect that between the greater ROI of adding stats at those tiers and the laborious weapon set interface it won't have much impact.

I think it was that it had 6 mod slots back before when Thief Baguettes were super broken and you could still your opponents entire inventory very easily.

Just want to give a public shoutout to for sending me a Shriek after my complaining that in 135 wins I didn't get a single one. It lifted my spirits for sure and is why I love this community. I promise to pay it forward if I get more than one next year.

83 Nightlady wins with 2 pets and not a Shriek in sight. I've given up until next time in the hope of better random drops. and others in the same boat I feel for you all.

65 wins so far with Princess. 2 Shrieks total. 1 at win 8 and again at win 46. Can't complain thus far.

Is there a list of Moro challengers that handle out amulets/tomes? Or is it all of them? Need to start grinding some of the other guys.

It’s rough :/ And I know Shrieks are super affordable these days, I could definitely purchase as many as I could add to any set with my pets’ current AP totals. It’s just the principle of the thing! It blows my mind that some people are getting 10-30% drop rates and others are getting none in hundreds of wins.

Anyway, next year I’m hoping my small army of currently-T9s will be at least mid T10 and able to each squeeze 10 wins out of her, should give me 60-100 additional wins at a minimum.

Alright I’m done complaining for the year. Going to go farm amulets and tomes and wait for Rouland.

Hahaha you’re giving me way too much credit, I don’t even really need any more Shrieks otherwise I would definitely buy them. I’m really just trying to trade out my psycho smashers and cold blasts for Shrieks, but it’s not that I’m hurting for freezers in general. Just trying to optimize, they’re a “nice to have” not a necessity. I only needed four more, three now thanks to ColdDragon sharing their bounty. C’est la vie, there’s always next year.

There are people in the comments who have gotten 3 in 10 wins, and ColdDragon got 47 in 460 wins so I don’t think so.

I’ve got you beat in the bad luck department though, I’m at 171 wins and 0 shriek drops.

yea looks like it's my bad luck but I guess 1 is good. But you have 0 which makes me feel bad so hoping you get at least 1 shriek too
