I didn't take any. I might go back with hubby (since bratchild doesn't want to) and that way I can ride, and take pictures while he drives. He said he wanted to see them too. Also maybe when (IF) I manage to get all the kids home again for pictures, maybe we can go then and take some pictures with the posable places, its harder for Nathan to say no if the other two/three are willing hahah! :P Speaking of hubby, got him to fix the water pressure valve by the house. It HELPED but water pressure still lowers when washer/hose and/or sink is running. But better! I expect a little loss of pressure when using two things, but not like it was doing.

Happy Thanksgiving Day to all of my American friends!! Hope everyone has a lovely day. I'm mixing up dough in the bread machine and have the oven heating for pumpkin pie...then I will work on the ham, cornbread, corn on the cob, and make instant potatoes (because I'm lazy and doing enough other stuff), and open a can of baked beans and a can of black olives and our lunch will be complete. I may or may not make mac&cheese for dinner with leftover ham and canned veg. Depends. Oh yes, and I need to make broccoli and rice casserole for lunch - we'll have it available for dinner too. YUM! I am seriously debating getting out the fine china, but that is just more work for me as the boys won't be willing to wash it off before or after as its hand wash only! I want to use it, but I don't know if I want to go to the effort. I will decide after cooking a bit more haha!

I say do it! :P We used the fancy dishes for our pancakes this morning. Then we mixed up some peach crisp, marinated some kalamata olives and artichokes, and.. that's it, we're done. Packed up the rest of our relish tray and the the tray, and... that's all, folks! Which is.. weird. :P But I'm not complaining!

I'm watching the parade while painting my nails, now.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who's celebrating today!

I did. I got it out of the China cabinet and washed it off (its been sitting for....years?) I got out the two serving trays (for bread/cornbread, and ham), two serving bowls (potatoes/corn), three dinner plates, three dessert plates, and a shallow bowl for the olives. Will just use a basic glass bowl for the baked beans, as I didn't have a China bowl that I felt would hold them. I've got the parade on too :) NOT painting my nails tho hehe!!! (I am totally enjoying the Fraggle Rock characters!! LOL)

The the tray? Veggie? Perhaps? LOL I guess everyone else is bringing other things to your family dinner?

Katie is doing a friendsgiving. I sent her home with fresh bread yesterday. She wished she could have some for Thanksgiving, and I had just enough time to bake it before they left - it had to cool in their car tho! One of their friends is bringing like 5 dishes and the others are bringing one or two. They are doing a turkey and now have bread. I forget what else she said they were doing, but they tried to split it up so no one had to bring too much - but the friend bringing more CHOSE to do so :) I get it. Some people reallly want specific items so they make them.

Everything is done here except the ham. And I'll pop the casserole back in the oven the last few minutes to warm back up a bit. Cornbread and bread are just as good cold, but i may pop them in for warming too. Dunno yet :P

Oh, no, just the empty tray for the pickles and olives :P

Mmmm.. Ithink we're actually the only ones bringing things. Ashley never brings anything, even when everyone is supposed to, and Rachel will probably help Lynne cook I guess.

I literally YELLED "It's Uncle Travelling Matt!" when he came on LOL

Well lazy bum. Even if you don't want to MAKE something, its not hard to grab a fruit or veggie or cheese tray at the store! :P (or even a package of bakery cookies or a bakery cake for dessert!) Ahhh just a tray. Got ya. Lol.

Woke up MY lazy bum. Wanted him to be awake enough to eat lunch, as its now 11, and food'll be ready by 12. The other boy has been up a while, and I just got him to help put on the weatherstripping I bought to help fix the doors. The front is really bad, the cats tore off all the lining long ago, and then the door leans or something, so there is this skinny to wide crack going down to the bottom, plus across the bottom. Meh. So I bought some strips, and some other kind to help block it again. We had it before but it'd come off in the past year or so and i was too lazy to fix it til now. Tired of cold feet when I walk by the doorway lol Plus with Belle sleeping there on cold nights, I don't want her to get too chilled.

Yeah.. Ashley is the worst.

We're supposed to be over there at noon too, for appetizers? Who knows. I'm just hoping they don't all get drunk and forget to cook more than the turkey this year LOL.

Oooh yeah, I've used that weatherstripping stuff before too. It doesn't stay well, but hopefully well enough for at least this year!

Ugh. I've got a killer headache. I took some tylenol like an hour ago but.. it's not helping yet.

I can't stand folks who want to have family "dinner" at ODD times! Serve it at lunch or at dinner. NOT at 2pm or 4pm or whatever. Ugh. Serve lunch no later than 1pm and dinner no earlier than 5 please folks!!!

Aww :( Hope it starts working soon. I took some meds the other day and it took FOREVER to kick in too (cough med though).

Ooh cool! Grimace and the Hamburgler were with Ronald :D I love seeing them lol

Oh, 2pm is my preferred holiday meal time :P But then there's normally something else to eat at noonish, like devilled eggs or relish tray or something.

Today we're having crab bisque, broccoli cheese soup (weird, but okay), charcuterie (not meeeeee!) and the relish tray.

That Ronald was creepy af though, right?!

Oh! Devilled eggs. I want some now :( I could make some, except I don't have pickle juice. I have eggs, mayo and mustard, salt and pepper. What else can you use instead of pickle juice????

I don't think Shane or Nathan eats them, so it'd just be me. Wish I could figure out a recipe for less than 6 eggs lol because I only can eat like maybe 2, max 3 (whole eggs, not single devilled halves) on my own. And I have found I do not like to try and keep them for long, they just don't taste right unless fresh made for some reason to me (like if I store it in the fridge and eat it the next day, they taste just a bit off... not terrible, just, not... right. lol)

I would probably like the broccoli cheese soup. My broccoli rice casserole is VERY cheesy! :D Charcuterie boards are ok, but so much effort (unless you buy one, then expensive!) What do you put on a relish tray? I don't eat relish. (I don't eat pickles, thus why I have no pickle juice)

I didn't notice creepiness? I am only half watching while I do my quests and keep an eye on the timer for the ham (so I can pop the other stuff back in to warm, plus I have to do the glaze)

Oh my gosh, the little gorg balloon I AM IN LOVE.

And yes, but he wasn't that impressive :P

We had to do some laundry too, Lily never thinks to wash the dish towels until she's like.. out? Even though I mention it all the time. But nooooooo, ofc not.

I have a whole drawer full of kitchen towels and whole huge stack of white rags I use only in the kitchen I keep in the cabinet. Tho, I am generally the only one who does laundry, so it does get washed.

I think I left my vinegar at school (for the assignment, we did the baking soda/vinegar bubble experiment with food color)...brought home the baking soda but I don't see the vinegar.

You got a forum point while making a post! Check out the shop here! First one in forever!

We also have a big drawer.. but we don't really use paper towels, we use a LOT of kitchen towels haha. Like.. a basket full each week?

Booo. Maybe next week you can make some.

I really had more than enough food anyway, so yea. No devilled eggs. They woulda tasted so gooood tho!

I do use paper towels but more for like napkins and soaking up grease (so I can throw that away!) I try to use hand towels to dry after washing my hands or if I feel the need to hand dry something. Most of the time I air dry stuff hahah! (Or like, leave it in the dishwasher to dry on its own...which is sort of air drying but the dishwasher is closed)

Hope everyone had a good day!

We played like.. literally 30 games of bingo LOL. But it was fun!

And I was decidedly less than sober leaving.. but it got a lot more bearable when I started drinking the sangria.

I really get why people become alcoholics. This is why I barely ever drink.

But it wasn't bad. Very fun :P

lol what counts is that you had fun :) That is a lot of bingo. Was there nothing else everyone could agree on to play? Bingo can be fun tho! Our go to game is monopoly hahahaha NO we don't go all crazy mad if someone else wins tho. (Well the kids sometimes get irritated when the winner brags, but it's all in fun, not really OMG FLIP THE BOARD OVER PISSED OFF type of thing)

Hmm its raining. Wonder if that cut down on the amount of black friday shoppers out today? I almost NEVER have gone out early. I do sometimes just go out around like now, to see if anything nice is left that I'm interested in (and the last few years, there has been a good bit leftover!! Its how I got my glass bowls set, my knife sets, small crock pots, etc)

The boys said they didn't want to go cut down a live tree this year (we've done that the past few years because hubby prefers live ones, we've gone back & forth between live and fake for years)....so i'm debating getting the old one out of the attic, which rotates!! But has a section of lights messed up, or just buying a new one.

CRAP. Just realized I missed the bathhouse yesterday. Back to day 1. I was at like 70 something. :( URRGGH will I ever get that 365 day achievement???

Hope you all had a good Turkey day! And if you are into the Black Friday sales hope you picked up a bargain.

GUESS WHAT. GUESS WHAT!!!!!

We have heat and hot water. Weve moved all the big pieces of furniture which was in the hall to the spare bedroom as it now no longer fits.

Ian’s going to do some measurements for things that he wants then it’s a trip to IKEA next weekend. Can’t wait I love going to IKEA. Love their meatballs, love everything about that.

After work today we are going to dads to start bringing stuff back. The kitchen, living room, bathroom and bedroom are almost back to normal. Just a few decorations/trinkets to put back.

So it’s just really the hall and spare room what me need to do. Hall is the main priority as we have nothing in there. Previously we had two big ikea shelving units.

All this hard work and lifting isn’t doing anything for my back. Thankfully I have physio on Wednesday.

WHOOOO, congrats Luce!

I've never been to an IKEA, the closest one is near Philly, 3 hours away.

Morning Kat! It's raining here too, but I can't imagine it's going to be very packed out anywhere today, I think most places have had their sales going on-line for days or weeks now. Did you end up going?! Find anything good?!

I'm contemplating going out later, I still need honey mustard, we need some milk, and I have a petsmart order for bunny hay and bedding I need to pick up.
