I'm getting back into my pet treasure chest and overlays and stories and stuff... there's so many different things to do on the site.

that's exactly how i felt when i was looking through the pet cplors... like wow, i can pick any one of these, and it's SO easy to make your pets cool... but as a kid it was sooo hard lol

I had been on Neopets since its start, and just watched as all they made all these new colors that were so astronomically out of reach... Trying to RS on dialup was basically impossible, and my computer couldn't handle most flash games.

When I was outbid on a cool Garrl transmogrification potion auction or whatever they were called, I kinda checked out. Then I found Subeta and, well, I think my Bloodred Mortiking is me replacing that neopet I couldn't have. XD

But yeah, I just thought "I can have whatever pet I want- I need more glacier pets!" and asked my nerds which one. Found out I had another longtime subeta fan in my pokemon discord. It was great.

Yes I came from neopets too, so did ... i think probably a lot of us did. Neopets was cool until it wasn't, and then i checked out too... haha do you guys remember when they use to put the plushies in happy meals? I freaked out as a kid. But the whole thing was kinda too commercialized.

Subeta's always been a better community, more adult friendly, and lots to explore. I love the items on here too. I came across and started cracking up. There's so much to collect on here. Adult me needs to make a whole new wishlist with new items lol

I love it here. The staff and users are friendly... unlike the stuff we went through on Neo.

The pet colors on here are way cooler too... though i do miss christmas themed pets, but that's cuz I'm Santa. lol

I miss Christmas colos too because well, it's my favorite holiday.

IMO, the nostalgic color really opened the floodgate on variety and creativity, IMO.

I'll be honest with you, i hadn't even looked at all the nostalgic colors. They're really cool. I especially like the Charlie and the Cybill. I had both those toys as a kid... haha How do you get a nostalgic pet anyway? Is it an elixir or...?

But yes, holiday theme would be awesome. I do like how you can do pet overlays though. I use to have fun designing my pets and giving them personalities and stuff.

I believe you have to have the kit for the pet you want to be nostalgic, and then the instructions, and then take both to Vanya's Workshop.

Late to this convo but I'll add to it - I also came from Neopets, and wow was I amazed at the difference in the communities. The admins on here have ALWAYS been so kind right from the start, and the community itself is supportive - I remember commenting in the shoutbox when I was 12 that I wanted a Gold Account so bad but my mom didn't have the money. I had someone PM me asking how old I am, and they sent me a week's GA medal every so often. It was the sweetest gesture from a total stranger. Have also had random spam gifties sent when folks learned I was a kid. I felt so loved and safe here (weird I know).

wait what? I need to do what to get a nostalgic pet? Where do I get a kit?

and yeah, i met some of my best friends on neopets/subeta. We had a guild called Give A Gift Bright A Day on Neopets and I had my group of friend who really helped me out through life when things were hard... we all migrated to subeta as we got older.

i'm gonna be honest, i'm just now rediscovering the internet. i forgot you could just like... talk to people. RL gets hectic and its nice to just come online and chat with friends.

Purchase the Nostalgic Instructions for the pet you want, and then take it to Vanya in Arctic Frost and you should be good from there! He will send you on a quest for the things you need.

I fully agree, chatting online is a nice alternative to the hassle of day to day life. The internet was the safe space for my entire generation I feel like.

the internet really was a safe space. You could chat and escape the troubles of your home life. Like i said, i met some of my best friends on here. I've met some of them in RL too. It's awesome being able to connect with people again.

if it makes you feel better, I just had to google that, and then follow the instructions myself to be sure I was sending you in the right direction ^_^' Since coming back and having more time to actually enjoy Subeta, I also feel like a newbie despite my being on here off and on since 2004.

Apparently i came on here in 2009 and bought all the and i could get my hands on... i don't remember doing that, but it does seem like something i would do haha i love micheal jackson. I even have a tattoo in remembrance of him.

I remember that I would collect clothing items and I kept them in a Gallery anticipating the avatars being made. There hadn't even been any confirmation that that would happen, but I remember thinking there's no reason for them to make all these clothes and not eventually do something with them... so collect I did lol and then I lost that account for inactivity ;_;

speaking of galleries, how do i clear out mine? I know i have items in there, but when i go to my shops it only shows my new shop, not my old galleries.. i wanna sell all the rare stuff i have so i can make sP and be rich bwahahaha...

weird - when I go to your profile it allows me to see your shops but when I click on your gallery it takes me back to my own shops page to create a new shop or gallery. Maybe file a ticket with the admins about that?

i'm okay. i'm just sitting here watching the jan 6th committee stuff on trump. i'm on episode 6 out of 8 and its wild. apparently trump regularly threw dishes at walls and stuff.... i'm very political. and artistic.

i have brain issues tho, and its weird cuz.. sometimes the left side of my brain shut off and sometimes the right side takes over and i get super creative. then the left side will power back on and i'm normal again. haha I get weird sometimes, but i'm a pretty nice person overall.

What do you got going on today? My plan is to oil paint if i can ever get off my ass and ventilate this room..

I have nothing going on today - about to lunch on some pizza and take a shower, but it's pouring rain outside so outside activities are shot for the day. Probably going to mosey about on here til my forum posts are up to 100 so I can finally get into the blue building, and then quest and sort out new items I get from that. It's a whole daily routine I thoroughly enjoy.
