Would it be possible to make it so you can select which pets to show up on a list? For example I read to only two pets. So enabling only those two pets to show up when an item has a "read to" option. That would also make accidental clicks not a thing.
Otherwise I don't oppose whatever else this is (I have way less than 100 pets so I'm not terribly affected)
Ohhh I love the idea of the farm also being a place where the pets there are taken care of (fed & played with) and maybe even down the line letting you choose how those things happen. That way you don't need to worry about adding them to the farm.
I don't mind losing the sP sink from keeping your pet in the inn tbh, and like this much better from a friendlyness point of view!

I am happy for this but would only want events and oracle quests to affect my one truly active pet in the way it currently does. I have pets that I want to carry around with me that I don't want them to receive 6 levels from an oracle quest.
Maybe somewhere down the road, but I get nervous even thinking of the complexity 💀

I think that sounds promising. I'd love it if still be able to interact with each pet directly in the Farm instead of the item dropdown list (like adding things to Treasure, reading books etc). I'd probably keep 10 active if this is the case (since those are the ones I'm focused on training). ^_^
I like this idea. I only have 23 pets at the moment, but i have accidentally read or fed to the wrong pet before. I can see where this could be beneficial even though I'm not the target audience

Okay, after reading the clarifications of how it would work I am all for this idea :)
Sure, just let me know when you want my army to crash the battle stat query. Here lately I can only get it to load maybe once a month when there is no site event and its like 3 am Subeta time.
Maybe a temp fix could be selecting the challenger wins or pet wins I want to see first step. Instead having it pull for every challenger and every pet before you choose, which seems to be what it does now.
The only problem I see with farm so far is the training center. It's a passive thing I'd want to tick on in the background. If they stop training while on the farm then I'd be less than thrilled. Practically everything else takes action and it be easy to just pull in and out of farm as I want to interact with the pet.
This sounds quite promising ! I'd love a Pet Den (farm/society, whatever name is chosen)... even though I only have 9 pets, I would so totally send 7 of them to the farm XD
It sounds lovely that this place could take the place of the Inn as well, to keep them all happy, and fed, and groomed, and it could also (maybe) be an extension to the Training Center (so they can have access to Jim/Drill's 'facilities').
I do not know how complicated it would be to have a few options for users to choose how many pets they want outside the farm (say, 1, 2, 10, 20, 50, 100, for example), or if it even would make any impact on lowering the queries to help the site even further.
Could be good because I primarily focus on 6 of my pets. I love my other pets, but I'd easily prefer to just see my main 6 pets purely for training/battling/etc. Also agree would be fantastic if I could only read books/etc. to just these 6 alone. It'd make it so much nicer and I bet easier for the site to load just 6 pets instead of 20 for using an item.

This sounds super reasonable to me, and I would definitely use it to prevent pets from showing up in dropdowns and lists where I don't need them, especially if I can still go to the farm/wherever to edit TCs and things (pretty much the only thing I do at random with most of my pets...they don't get much work unfortunately but I do chuck items at them lol)
I think this is a great idea. Mainly if we can rotate the pets off and on the farm and it helps speed up the site! :)
I already use some custom css to hide inactive pets on certain aspects of the site so I am so hyped for the idea of this. The biggest benefit of this would be battling with multiple pets because I could just set up the 8+ dudes I got battling and I won't have to scroll thru them all.
I think one issue you might run into with this feature especially depending on how you decide to add it is the ease of use for some people. I don't know for sure how much explanation will have to go into this but it should be described in a way that users understand that while they can have 100 active pets, the objective is def not to have all your pets active. By default I assume the addition of the system would only pick up the current active pet as active, otherwise if it defaulted to picking x amount kinda just defeats the purpose because I feel like some users might pass over interest in this.
Calling it a farm sounds like a decent idea too, I'd have thought maybe something like "party" would work but if you can have all your pets active than that's one big ass party lol
Hmmm (and this is me spitballing here, trying to be very conscious of saying that!) what if pets in the farm/den (love that name !) still trained automatically in the background but at a much slower pace than putting them into the training center? Maybe instead of earning stats, they'd earn a slow but steady amount of XP over time. That way folks who don't want their pets getting stats can choose (via XP) what to get, and there isn't wasted time for any pets.
Or do you put all of your pets into training each time it's available?
From a writing perspective, imagining the pets running drills with each other or something ;)

We use to kennel my childhood dog when we went on vacation and she absolutely adored the lady who ran the kennel. We tell her we were going to see The Lady and she'd flip out with happiness.
Just for clarification purposes, would we still be able to train, collect income income for, and read books to the pets in the farm?
I have 20 pets and I'm going for 40 (Big Family achievement limit), but I'm taking my time because I read and train all my pets to get them the best jobs, which take a fortune to do.
I like the ideal! I'd be okay if we could only keep out like max top 10 at a time. With 22 pets it sometimes gets silly scrolling to find and give certain pets things like food, a book, or specific treasure. Can't imagine having 100... X_x
i'm all for this since i have one pet i do "everything" with, would streamline feeding/battle etc
I do like the idea that all pets in the den can earn a small amount of EXP overtime when they're in the den. As long as they can also earn the job's income while being in the den, I don't have any objections.
I personally only put my one of my little pets through training once a day... because I'm not actively training right now, and not really training my T13 pet atm.... this sounds really nice... and it'll feel like they're doing something productive in there as well haha
