Regarding your wife's sister, I think a similar thing happened in my own family recently.

Paternal grandfather passed away while waiting for someone to pick him up for an event.....

My father and his friends found out during said event. My mother and I found out after the event was over..... My mother had wondered where my grandfather was.

Man! I dont know if you pray or any thing, but I am gonna pray for your whole family! I am so sorry for your loss. My younger brother passed away 4 years ago and that pain is unimaginable for sure! SO special prayers for your wife.

Not much to do if I'm stuck home alone with a set of windows blown out. The winds have settled some, but I'm more concerned about another power snap out. It interferes with my cable modem, zo doing my online homework can be stifled.

I feel like the food referee, Kate gobbles her food. I am seriously thinking of getting her the puzzle bowl. When she finishes I cage her until Rondo is done. Because Kate gobbles hers and goes after his. Which I cant permit his eating adult dog food.

HUGS! by July Kate will be a bit older hopefully less of a biter, and I hope she isn't bothered by fireworks. But it doesn't make I always make sure my dogs are in days before and after the 4th of July, and any thunder and lightning. makes me wonder how many owners watch the outside temperature, and bring their pets in. I constantly monitor every day and off and on throughout the day.

Vet annoyed me, when I took Roxy to the vet that last time, "oh we can give her medicine that may or may not work." Seriously so experiment and Roxy would have paid the price. I just couldnt do that to her, I owed her peace and no more pain.

Pups I would have looked back too. Funny my middle son says the same about Rondo. He says, "he just smiled at me and I had to have him." They were playing a lot with each other today. When Rondo starts bathing another dog, their buddies. They played chase, and it was so funny to watch. Some how Kate keeps getting Rondo's collar off. But I can tell Kate is going to be a lovable sweetheart.

I am a snuggler with my dogs, even my grand weiners know grandma's lap is the best. Rondo loves giving kisses, and his teaching Kate the ropes. I dont know if she is paying attention, she marches to her own drummer. She has a definite minded over her own.

I finally got minion, I hope they release the last one I need.

Random hugs are nice, I have even given strangers hugs. Just because I could tell they needed it so bad. two people I did that to one was a widow crying, because it was the anniversary of her husband's death. The other lady a guy was screaming and hollering at her, for something beyond her control.

Here is hoping the release the last one soon, I keep checking.

That's terrible about your windows. :( I do hope you're finding ways to keep warm. I know appetite can be troublesome to deal with sometimes, but it should give you energy to stay warm.
Usually when I have to force myself to eat it's because I've forgotten to eat for a long time. I'll know I have to, but by then I'm just too tired to feel like putting something together. I've gotten to where I keep a small box of snacks in my room so I can eat something small but it'll give my brain enough energy to get to the kitchen and eat something More. (though there are the times it's the middle of the night, I realize I forgot to eat dinner, and I just munch away on some trail mix until I'm not hungry... probably not the best, but... eh..) :) Congrats on the loyalty box! Another year! I tend to save them myself unless I get the urge to have another pet.

Yeah, I always feel bad for some neighbor dogs when it gets to that time of year. As for temperatures, when it's gotten too cold, if they're not let in yet, I'll sneak them a little treat to give them some energy. (helps them not be so grumpy with me too..)

I'm glad you gave her the peace she needed. I understand why vets ask things like that, there are people that haven't had that kind of loss yet and don't know when it's time.

Pups, yeah he was the best. :) I honestly believe he was the answer to our prayers. I had been praying for a dog (specifically a dalmation because I thought the spots were funny), mom had wanted a short dog that wouldn't jump and had short hair so not to shed too much, dad wanted a hound dog like he had grown up with, I think one sister wanted a dog that would snuggle and the other one that would leave her alone if she wanted.
Pups ended up being a dog with a basset hound body and a dalmation coloring. ^_^ He had Such a sweet temperament, never messed in the house (except a notable instance before we trained him not to eat chicken out of the trash..), and was honestly my best friend. (being so many years apart from siblings can be tough sometimes..)

Teehee! ^_^ I love that. 'grand weiners' I have so many nicknames for our Pepper. I want to say doxies are the best, but I think I just have a thing for that long nose and floppy ears and those eyes that Stare at you and ...oh wait, I'm describing Every dog. lol :P I love snuggling, but Pepper likes my mom best. I think I'm a close second, but.. yeah. When at the vet or acupuncturist, mom trumps all.

^_^ Aaaw! Rondo and Kate's relationship sounds so sweet! Silly Kate though, getting his collar off.. Would it help to get him used to a harness with a tag? (though maybe that would just giver her more to grab at..) Their' different personalities I think is part of what we love about dogs. lol

Oh! Another idea regarding Kate's eating.. what if you trained her while he's eating? Lately I've had to do some exercises for Pepper's physical therapy and I've found she responds better to food than treats (doxie brain). But she can only have a certain amount of special food a day, so I used that as the reward. She gets fed and exercised at the same time.

The window solution is underway, while my stove is now cleaned out and breathing properly. The cold is an issue only during the morning and evening, the day hours seem like "what cold?".

Nest shop day should be another fun time, the topic is drive shafts, zo mine think the class will be dealing with RWD vehicles. That or some time may spare to allow students to work on their own cars.

My friend is still painting his Fiero, today mine saw the front body panels piecing together. He says to have a day off, an if he needed any help mine been called for.

[Edit] And mine eager to report my stove works well, my stovetop cooking came out beautifully. I now understand what my uncles meant by seasoning the iron cookware. They used repurposed tilling discs to cook outdoors, while mine tried a cast iron skillet. The conditions were spot on, no sticking or burning. Mime best keep an eye on the firebox to keep the stove hot. Good night now, mine having SPAM n potato tacos for dinner.
