the thing is, we have tons of resources available. We give all the parents paperwork to fill out to help us assess where the child is at, we score them and depending on the score we know how to help and bring in those resources. BUT when this parent lied on all the questions because when she brought back the paperwork, I scored it, everything came back high. We can’t get help for us or for the child with inaccurate scores.

So we filled it out ourselves to get a more accurate score and we’ve been documenting everything. Like what happened before, during, and after each melt down and sent it to our department’s principal. But I honestly don’t know what they’ll do about it

our department is “understaffed” so we don’t have as much support as we should but he 100% needs intervention :(

do u work at a school? And do u guys have like neighboring teachers who can help when he has like a meltdown? Sry dnt mean to give u like unsolicited advice but like Usually whn my kids were naughty and acted up I sent them to my neighboring colleague Becuz one it gives the kid a different environment to calm down in and two it low key shames them frm being naughty lol

oh yikes that is a mess and a half 😬 at least u can take comfort in the fact tht uve rly done everything tht u can but wow. i hope tht they can do something... u gotta wonder what his home situation is like hmm

unfortunately we can’t do that. We’re a state preschool so there’s all kinds of rules that we have to follow or we’ll lose licensing. And we’re located at an elementary school where other teachers have their kids they need to focus on.

And with his tantrums, it’s like pushing at a wall. We couldn’t even get him to sit down in the library yesterday
