My notes for Mage are to use Cronus + OHS. And bringing Ether in for support. Mage can be frozen once on the first turn, so start with a freezer (scroll or item) to get a hit in after.

Only the ones with * are legacy names, they all have a decent number of treasure slots and around 20-ish AP, I don't care what you do with them once they're yours.
