Currently reading Prisoner of the Horned Helmet by James Silke. My beau and I tried for AGES to find our own copies of the Death Dealer books before finally giving up and just asking to borrow them from family. It's a little weird, but interesting so far.

My best description for Prisoner of the Horned Helmet is strange, but good. I think the pacing of the story was my biggest complaint; it's slow until about the last fourth of the book, and then it's full steam ahead at breakneck speed. The writing is also slightly amateurish, but that didn't much bother me.

I'll be reading Mort by Terry Pratchett next.

I'm reading A Guest in the House by E. M. Carroll! It's a graphic novel and I'm excited to read it as I loved E. M. Carroll's other stories I've read! I mean, just look at this cover:

Mort was a fun read! It's hard to go wrong with a Pratchett novel, especially one about Death.

Currently reading Vampires of El Norte by Isabel Cañas. It's a curious sort of historical fiction novel with horror and supernatural elements. I've been enjoying it so far.

Vampires of El Norte was strange, but in a good way. A little dark, a little light, a lot eerie, and a fair amount sweetly romantic. I had to put it down for a bit in the last ninety or so pages because the scenarios made me feel stressed and anxious, but I'll consider that more pro than con since it means I was thoroughly absorbed in the story.

Current book is The Other Typist by Suzanne Rindell.

The Other Typist was... okay. I enjoyed most of it, but the ending was kind of trite and blah to me, which rather spoiled the whole experience.

Currently reading The Long Utopia by Terry Pratchett and Stephen Baxter. It'll be a good palate cleanser, I enjoy this series of books.

Just finished, The Queen's Poisoner by Jeff Wheeler. And e-book wise, also finished The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches too.

My next book to read is: The Republic of Thieves since the Jeff Wheeler and ROT are both library books and need to be returned in early June.

Finished The Long Utopia recently. That ending, oh man, please excuse me while I shriek incoherently for a moment. I'll definitely have to pick up the next book in the series at some point this year.

Started Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros yesterday. SO excited to finally have hands on this book. I ended up putting in a hold at my library for it, and it still took something like two months to work through everyone ahead of me in the hold queue. Not looking forward to the inevitable long wait for the next book in the series, but that is a problem for future me after I've finished this one.
