The Book That Wouldn't Burn by Mark Lawrence
Started the second part to the atlas series by Olivie Blake, The Atlas Paradox. I wasn't really that impressed by the first book, but it was decent. Continuing with similar mild feelings about this one. I do get why people might enjoy these books though. the covers are insanely pretty tbh.
Next read is The Cat Who Killed Lilian Jackson Braun by Robert Kaplow, which is a parody of the Cat Who... novels. The first few pages have been entertaining so far, I hope the book can maintain that energy throughout.

Thanks for the warning! however now i'm even more curious to read it, and am chronically incapable of dropping series even when i don't enjoy them, lol. i gotta say this second book has been just... let's just say not my cup of tea.
As a palate cleanser, I pulled Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe from my shelves. Can't go wrong with a classic, right?

My current read is Godkiller by Hannah Kaner. The sequel comes out next week so I have to finish this by Tuesday hopefully.
i was in between loans at the library for a while, so i've been rereading a series of unfortunate events. i read the first 11 as a kid and never read the last two, i'm determined to rectify that this time. on book 6 atm. been enjoying them but they're a bit repetitive when you read them all in a row haha.
now one of my loans finally came through, so i'm gonna start days at the morisaki bookshop by satoshi yagisawa tomorrow~
I just finished reading Strangers on a Train, which is one of the best detective stories ever written (except for Devices and Desires, of course).
Today I started Me and Orson Welles by Robert Kaplow. Yes, the same author as that parody novel I hated; I'm hoping his original prose is better. And if not, well, it's only 250-ish pages long, I shouldn't have long to suffer.

A lot of manga at the moment. Mostly slice of life, funny romantic ones.
Friend also got me into the ACOTAR series, so that's a rabbit hole I'm going down...if no one can tell I'm really into it >.>;

Next is Chronicles from the Land of the Happiest People on Earth by Wole Soyinka. Kinda found it on accident while researching winners of the Nobel prize for literature to fill in a book bingo space. The premise seemed fairly interesting, and I'm always down to read about a fictional version of Nigeria, so I went ahead and picked it up.

I ended up being incredibly bored by both Godkiller and Sunbringer. Something about them just fell flat for me, idk. Not sure if I'll read the third book when it comes out.
Just started Jay Kristoff's Empire of the Damned.
Started Gregrory Ashe's Pretty Pretty Boys and so far I'm enjoying my time.
Honestly I can't wait to pick up the next Atlas book just out of spite
Pulled Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes from my shelf to read next. I can remember reading the short story version and some excerpts during my school days, and it's a Nebula Award winner, so I don't expect to be disappointed. (Plus, unlike when I was in school, I know what to expect from the ending this time.)

Next to read is Soul Mountain by Gao Xingjian. It's one of those I mostly chose to fill a space for my reading challenge, but the premise seemed interesting, so we'll see where it goes.
