I have more right now on hand then I have ever had. I have about 25 hooks. I am a visual crocheter though. Oh something I do when I take crocheting on a road trip. I use a traveler toothbrush tube, that I keep my hooks in. So they can be in luggage or purse. I got yarn made in turkey that I bought in Egypt. Its so cheap there compared to the states, I had two huge suitcases full of it. I made a queen size bedspread that draped over the sides, the yarn was variegated black, gray, and white. It took me 6 months of crocheting every ight for 3-4 hours. My younger son who it was 4 asked, Mom so how long does one row take. Well I didnt know, so he timed me. Turns out it was 1 hour and 15 minutes without stopping. I had carried it everywhere, so before he got it. I took it to the laundromat, and used a commercial sized washer. Then I took it home and let it dry naturally on my huge dining table for 2 days. I kept turning it over, and refolding it. I also had a ceiling fan going. I told my son, I am sorry I tried, but my hair keeps getting in it. You know what the sweet guy said, "Well Momma that is fine, now I will always have a piece of you with me." Just brought me to tears, and it made 6 months of crocheting worth every second. I have done 3 of them, one for each of my sons. Last thing I crocheted, was a baby blanket for my first grand baby Autumn.
Oh here is something nice to know, you know those "mistakes." My grandma told me, "that mistakes are not mistakes they are your trademark." So that if someone were to claim your work. You could point out all your trademarks.
I love that ...so sweet what your son said :) I have never made anything that big. I've made small throws. Years ago I crocheted baby sweaters...and doll dresses for a friend's daughter. I like to make hats and scarves too. I have several blankets in the works right now...and one is called Sophies Universe...that one is fun and I'm sure learning with it. If you look up Sophie's Universe you can see what it looks like. Oh do I love crochet hooks...I have some favorites. How fun to travel and buy yarn in another country. Now this chat makes me want to pick up one of my projects. Maybe tomorrow I will after doing some stuff around here that I don't want to do :)

oh its pretty! I sent it to my email. I like the corner to corner pattern. Oh buying yarn in Germany is a real treat, too. I prefer hooks from G to J size. I have a friend that swears by adult coloring, she says it really relaxes her when she gets stressed.
Is your lime trees in pots? My lime tree is in the ground, and full desert sun doesnt bother it a bit. How long have you had them? If they looked stunted, like kind of droopy not wanting to grow. Did you plant them yourself, if so did you loosen the roots after taking out of the pots? They get root bound in the pots, and it chokes them even if you put them in the ground. To fix that, get a kind of soda even store brand. Dump a can of soda on each one, by the base of the trunk. This helps the roots to relax and grow apart from each other if root bound (one big clump of roots). Do this once a week. Did they get frozen this winter or winter before? If so start breaking a small branch at different levels, from top to bottom. If they dont snap in half, the bush is alive at that level. Thats where you cut, from the level they stop breaking cut bush completely off at trunk, trim all big branches from that point down. It will take about 2 seasons to grow back and grow lime/lemons. But you can fertilize with bone meal around the base or collect bones with marrow from any type of meat. Clean them off, and freeze them. For one bush add one bread bag, full of bones. I usually save the bones in bags and toss in freezer. Then early spring, make sure bones clean of any meat. Keep animals away from them. Then dig 4 holes like the 4 corners of a box, then put bones in each hole, and bury. The bones will slowly release their nutrients in the soil for the bushes to benefit from. Water maybe 2-3 times a week depending how dry it is where you live. I have one bush, last year I got over 400 limes, a year or 2 before that 530 limes. Big and juicy the size of your fist. I had it freeze really bad about 2006, and my hubby was going to take out my lime bush. I was ready to smack him. But I had him cut it to a foot off the ground, and it recovered great. Thats how short we cut it last week.
: Where I live, our gardeners struggle to maintain our citrus groves. The soil in Healer's Vale is very heavy because it's both volcanic and glacial. And while this is great for almost everything else, it doesn't drain well enough, so lots of sand was brought in to amend the soil. Our citrus varieties tend to develop a type of root rot. Good Luck on your lemon tree. Have you used citrus fertilizers, like those little spiky thingies? I like the bone idea.
: My dear friend and fellow Lair Bear lurker is a crocheter and is currently working on a patchwork cardigan. She's also made a Baby Yoda, a Derpy from My Little Pony and a beautiful rainbow throw blanket. My author's great aunt Leila crocheted cotton bandages for the leper colonies in India and Egypt for decades during the 1950's through the 1970's. She made thousands of 4 foot bandages in her lifetime. I'm fascinated by all kinds of needlework, but I cannot do it. I am in awe of those who can. Good for you!
: You complimented me on my masquerade hair looking good with my tail and ears and I thank you very much! I love it when people notice my tail! I mean, not that I go about flashing my tail around, or wiggling my tail so that people are forced to observe it...what am I saying??!! I mean to say that there's nothing wrong with being proud of a pretty tail and wearing provocative clothing or hairstyles that accentuate one's positive physical attributes. Or...that I'm encouraging you to ogle my tail....
Darling...you have a pretty tail. Smile graciously and thank Hoashi for the nice compliment...let me ogle your tail.
Thank you for your very nice compliment.
: I see you lurking there and I send you a lurking hug.
I missed the end of Masquerade because Weldon and I were invited to go to Monterey with my author and his mate Francine this week. We spent four days and three nights there and had a wonderful time. I wanted to visit my sea-weasel cousins the otters, but it was just windy and cold enough that they had moved out of the Monterey Bay and down the coast into little nooks and crannies to wait out the weather. I embarrassed Weldon by stripping naked and running into the water with my spear the minute the car door was open when we got to the ocean. Apparently I forgot that we had driven down to the ocean to go to a restaurant there near the wharf. Nevertheless, I did catch a little fish and I was allowed to eat it then and there while I dried off and got dressed. Hey! Instincts!
The fishing fleet was catching squid in the bay very close to the harbor and we watched the boats in the late afternoon and early evening as they lay their nets and hauled in their catch. They were so close you didn't need binoculars! We also went to Big Sur to view the ocean from some of the most beautiful coastline in California, perhaps even the world. On our last day, we visited the Elkhorn Slough Estuary which is one of the United States most important wildlife preserves. It was so beautiful.
We had great food (the restaurants there have a companion animal policy, so we didn't have to sneak in and hide under the table, we got to read from the menu.) and lots of it. Since we aren't human children, which aren't allowed in some restaurants on the wharf, we were treated with respect and I only had to bite one waiter who called us pets.
On the way back to Fresno, where my Author lives, we stopped at this huge touristy-trap place called Casa De Fruta to have an ice cream and to use the toilets. (look it up on the web, it's sorta famous. It's like Knotts Berry Farm without rides or fun. ) They have a Casa De Wine Shop, Casa de Sweets Shop, Casa de Coffee Shop, Casa de Carousel, Casa de Choo Choo Train Ride and even a little duck pond with a little Casa de Duck house where the ducks can go to sleep. Everything is named Casa de something. I was a little put off that they didn't have little signs on the public toilets that said Casa de PeePee. Somebody should start a letter-writing campaign....
It was 60 degrees in Monterey when we left at noon, and 95 degrees in Fresno when we arrived later in the afternoon. But the upside was that there was a swimming pool at mark's house and I was able to strip naked, go swimming and get the last of the sand out of my fur.
After a couple of days rest down in the Valley, Mark and Francine took Welly and me back up into the mountains wo that I could get back to work and relieve Brenda Arrowroot, my second in command, so that she and her mate Bosco Wheezle can take a little two-week vacation up to Lake Woodrow Wilson. It's slow here at Healer's Hall, so we typically start the vacation rounds in May.
Well, that's the news from Healer's Vale, where the girls are all strong and the boys have cute butts.
That was real classy. You going to end like that?
No, you've got an end like that...snicker-snort
Oh, brother....

Hiya : I'm doing just fine today. I got back from the coast the day before yesterday, rested yesterday and today I was back to work. There were no patients to see, so we started our Spring renovations. We rarely get a chance to scrub the Surgery down from top to bottom and re-whitewash it this early in the season. But I was able to get an entire crew assembled and got that big job tackled. Tomorrow, we'll do the same for Accident and Emergency. I may be Master Healer, but I get a kick out of getting my paws "dirty" so to speak and nobody can stop me! The cool thing about me being me is that if I get whitewash on my fur, nobody can tell!
We can tell, you look powdery and smell like slake lime. We just let you think you're invisible.
Just wondering if anyone has heard from Ramby lately?
Remember loosen the roots before you put it in the ground. After you are done pour a can of soda around the base of the trunk. That will help the roots get a good start. I haven't send Ramby for a while now.
: Happy Mother’s Day to all my precious friends in the Lair who are mothers. I wish many blessings upon you and praise you for all the hard work you have done raising offspring.

You notice a Cuddly Llama Plushie on the ground, but right when you bend down to pick it up, lizard minions come out of nowhere and scurry off with it!
Your trap springs and you spray like mad as the lizard minions escape. They will not get away this time! You place Cuddly Llama Plushie into your inventory.
It's been a while since I've seen those pesky lizard minions! Sure glad I've kept that trap oiled! lol
Happy Monday everyone!!
Calendar days are closer than they appear! [item=mocking clock]
Some lemon juice in your spaghetti sauce is a nice under lying taste, make people wonder what you did. Add slowly you dont want it to overwhelm the flavor. Cut a lemon in half with water and let boil to help loosen burnt food in your pans.
Well Bears, I am getting no help with my BHH achievement. I dont get it, showing comment from working on BHH since March 2016 is not any help, comments I made here about it were included in ticket and daily activity isnt any help. I am so pissed off, I want to say bad words that would make a sailor blush for a week. So I am going to announce here every stupid item I have to pay for to get the achievement AGAIN and how many items until tier total. Plus I am taking screen shots of tally in achievement area, that I will also mark them with date accomplished. So if they want proof I will have a lot pictures with dates. My suggestion to all of you take pictures of your totals now, no matter how small and continue to take screen shots until you get last tier total and screenshot that mark with date. So you dont have to start over. My total hasnt changed from last announcement on total.
oh that sucks! I've made a screen shot of my progress (LOL 43 of 50), but being so close to another tier, I hope I don't run into these problems.
Now I just need to remember to screenshot the very rare time I get something!
