I am currently stuck in the twilight zone with crithbolcan and don't mind LOL. Out of all the level 30 challengers, crith is one of the easiest.
I reroll the cake and manecuda cus they are annoying OTL. Once I go back to focusing on my T11 pet, I'll probably try to reroll chase and crawbeast in the 24-29 group, cus she can't beat them yet.
It's been a month since hitting my last milestone and I've still got choice paralysis. The two builds are intended to be different from my other pets but also not crazy unbalanced. For now I'm going ignore my two spare T11s, since they only have 67AP and it's funnier to funnel any loot books they get to my joke T4s. Snuggles and Mittens have around 1.76m experience each, so they could get a bunch of stats as soon as I stop waffling over what to do. Something, something, should do something because the promised battle stuff coming this summer. [box=#E8F6FF]
| Snuggles and Mittens | Mall Cop | Build 1 | Build 2 | |
| Health | 2150 | 2600 | 3750 | 4499 |
| Strength | 2150 | 1800 | 3249 | 2500 |
| Defense | 2150 | 1800 | 2500 | 2500 |
| Speed | 2150 | 1800 | 2500 | 2500 |
| AP | 130 | 134 | + | + |
The high health build might honestly be best suited to one of my lower AP pets, since they can just be damage sponges who don't need to have 5 GotF scrolls or a huge freeze set to wiggle through a tough fight. At 22000 stats that build is 11500/3500/3500/3500 which may be on the weak side.

Unlocked Hit the Cap!! Have a pet with stats that total at least 22,000 (strength, defense, health, and speed)!
Finally got my battle pet up to Tier 13! Still a long way to go before hitting the actual cap now, haha.
Almost forgot BQs today; got too distracted coding Exemplar's page, it's been so long since I touched css hahaha 30/30 again though - poor Crith isn't having a good time lately...
Congrats!! 🎉 🎉 Only a bit more work to go now!
time. Battle Quest

Grrr, only 29/30 today Got Menecuda > Menecuda > Biting Cake :(
I should go through Tarrant's books really... I must have missed at least some cheap books during my break :P
Battle soon tm
Both build 1 and 2 look fine. What is it that you're not sure of?
Partly the number of pets, partly because it may just be better to have more strength and less health on pets with higher intelligence. It's a difference of five GotF/freezers vs two GotF/freezers in my default scroll sets. It seems weird to drum out three pets with build 1 and then the last two with build 2. Right now I'm not looking to boost intelligence aside from just reading new books.
I'm probably overthinking it since my only 'goal' is to have viable pets for battle events and holidays to get books. Too many pets is not a problem I ever expected to have!
The high Intel ultimately just means how many scrolls and your build will dictate which scrolls.
For example, my one pet with high strength and speed has to sacrifice health and def because he is only T9 now. He should still struggle because he doesn't have enough hp but doesn't because of all the forj scrolls he can equip.
You can't really go wrong if you want a pet that can win loot. Ultimately, pets with higher health will have an easier time and get more wins than pets with lower health. My pet with higher health and all other stats the same does slightly better than my pet with strength=health and all other stats lower. My pet with exaggerated strength (I'm talking a T8 at the time with 2800 strength) can get more wins but will also take a lot of losses because his intel is much lower and the lack of health makes it difficult. His battles are very much hit or miss.
That's more or less why I'm waffling. The pets with more intelligence have more room for 'riskier' builds, to the point where it might even be workable to have a ton of strength and just accept them being reliant on using GotF every other turn in harder fights. So like maybe like this and not ending up with 3 identical pets:
| Health | 3750 | 3249 | 2999 |
| Strength | 3249 | 3750 | 4000 |
| Defense | 2500 | 2500 | 2500 |
| Speed | 2500 | 2500 | 2500 |
Also, chums' build at the top of T12 of 7500, 6500, 4000, 4000 was a really solid build, which is probably great since capping these pets is not important.
Higher health will cope with that. It's not being able to do enough damage that becomes a hindrance because you could always use blocking scrolls or healing scrolls.
All of my experimental builds are still mid tier, but I suspect they will start to struggle when they can fight the imp challengers where it's all about the long game and not having the HP to fall back on. Build 3 I suspect will have a hard time with opponents that boost like the panzer Hydra since weapons don't boost hp.
Low strength was an issue fighting Sophie, of all challengers. And it's probably also an issue with One Three Snake Eyes. The low health might hurt most on Tatuvichwa, since like Panzer Hydra it's boosting itself every turn, and also Deadroot who blocks a ton. But these are T11 builds. At T12, Build 3 could be 6000, 10000, 3000, 3000. Which is probably.. risky on any challenger that can self heal or block a lot.
So it's been awhile since I've made any significant updates to the in-depth battle guide, and I'm hearing people still don't seem to understand how battling works. I figure that means the guide is missing something, somewhere, so can everyone look through and see what needs improvement?

I've decided to add a section on creating scrolls, and will improve on the mod crystals section as well. I'm also going to list highly recommended scrolls and crystals that are typically staples of battling. Other than that, I have to update the text and a couple images.
But what else does it need?? How can I make the guide even more accessible?

Sophie and deadroot are just incredible pains in the ass if you can't chainfreeze them at T11 because of their heal. I dunno what you consider low strength but pylot does it at T11 with 1500 strength. I consider that low but he can last through the long battles
Tbh its pretty thorough and I think people just get overwhelmed. It really covers most aspects to dig in and figure it out if your familiar with any turn based battle system. Maybe a quickstart guide thats a little less indepth.
And maybe a more in depth guide on how to actually choose which weapons/scrolls to use in a battle.
Someone mentioned on the site features thread in feedback that an interactive battle tutorial would be nice to have. Even if we can't have one officially, someone could write one up themselves and get it stickied so that it gets people involved and through the process.
As for the last suggestion...I do recall someone made a guide with recommended sets for each tier. I need to look that up and link it then. That might help.
