Thank you . My sister has been ready and waiting to go home to be with the Lord for a few years. Her body is perfectly healthy. She's never taken a prescription or any pill but she has a disconnect in her brain that was discovered about five years ago. It effects her eye sight and her memory and just continually gets worse. She only weighs 100 lbs. She has told us for years she won't have a surgery if she ever needs it. Her son and I agree with her. We would feel the same way in her situation. We really don't know why they would suggest surgery either. She's being kept comfortable and hasn't any pain. She can't understand why she has a catheter as she thinks she's perfectly able to go to the bathroom. She lives in northern Michigan, Marquette. She is a strong little lady. She lived by herself in a huge house, with three floors and took care of it herself until her son finally convinced her to move up north by him just three years ago, She loved her new place where she could be with other seniors and have meals together and entertainment all the time. But when Covid stopped all that she was pretty lonely. Her son visited and took her anything she needed and did the best he could. We kept in touch by phone. Family visited her as often as they could but didn't live close. She is beautiful. When she was young she turned heads. She was told she looked like Debra Kerr several times. An actress none of you would probably remember. She is a wonderful big sister to me and can still make me feel better every time I talk to her. Sorry didn't mean to write a book but thanks for the opportunity to talk about Yvonne.
I'm sorry I haven't posted as much the last week or so. My grandma passed on Friday. She was on hospice for 3 days and I was lucky enough to see her one last time. She looked no different. I was afraid her looks would have changed with being hooked up to all that and after her heart attack. Just a lot she went through. But then again I'm not very familiar with hospice it's the first time I'd seen anyone with it. She had been in so much pain for years and a lot of things. But seeing her didn't ruin my last memory of her. Plus the last time my mom was there visiting with her before Thanksgiving she took some pictures of her. So I have that on my phone. I miss her so much and it feels surreal that she's gone. Might take me some time to post more.
I hope your sister has a fast recovery
I hope everyone is doing well.

Happy New Year everyone! Love and Hugs all around ! Hope you are are doing well and we have a much better 2021! I'm sorry to hear about your sister. Glad to hear you've been in contact and that she will be able to see her son. Also, congrats on HUGS! congrats on your Hugs Lottery!! Love your HA too!! - Welcome!!!
love your HA's!!
. Your poor sister sounds so frail! Hopefully they don't leave the catheter in for too many days because that creates all sorts of problems too! I suppose the hospice wants her to keep pressure off her leg which of course is understandable.
Shirley you gave a beautiful description of your sister, I loved reading about her. She sounds so capable. I need her here with me! :) - managing a 3 storey house on her own! She sounds like a strong, kind and supportive person. Yes I do understand the Deborah Kerr reference! I've only come across a couple of her films though: Here to Eternity and Separate Tables. Both excellent films!!
I'm so sorry to read you've lost your grandmother. What a very difficult time for your family.
maybe next year my resolution will be not to make a resolution. 100% chance of success :)
- thank you and thank you!! Will write to you very soon! :) :) :) xxxxx
(((Hugs))) to Shirley! Your HA is beautiful. I'm hoping she is feeling peaceful and not sad!!! xxxxxxx
Thank you . I worry about the catheter too. It kills me that I can't be there for Yvonne and still haven't been able to talk to her. Thank you for the comment on my HA. Love that background dear friend. (hugs) ❤
Good Morning!

Hello everyone! Happy late New Year! I hope 2021 is treating you well, so far! I've not been on much lately, busy in real life, but I wanted to check in and say hello!
Yvonne sounds like a lovely (inside and out) woman! I do hope all goes well with her!
I LOVED Deborah Kerr in An Affair to Remember! (And Cary Grant too! swoon ) It's one of my favorite movies! So is The Prisoner of Zenda, another one she was amazing in. Those movies were already "classics" when I was a teen, but classics were all I watched at that time, and I still prefer the movies of the 1930s and 40s. (Music, too.)
I'm so sorry for your loss! I'm glad you were able to see her at the end. <3
Welcome! You won't find a sweeter set of users on Subeta!
I love musicals, that is why I have only seen one movie with Deborah Kerr (The King and I). I also like old time movies, especially if there is singing involved. :)
Hello everyone! Have a great day and stay safe!
