Lol buckets...yes, you should get a new one! I guess I'll leave mine alone and let it fend for itself if it wants flies. I don't want to upset it. It closed one of its "buckets" (and it has stayed shut, unlike the ones that closed and reopened when I jostled it a little bringing it home), so maybe it actually caught something.
Your plants all look so healthy and happy! Unfortunately for my photosynthesizing friends, I basically live in a cave with one small window so I don't have all that nice sunlight you've got. I have to provide it artificially. Speaking of which, here's my pineapple plant that I started sometime earlier this year from the top I cut off a fresh pineapple. It doesn't seem to mind living in a closet at all!

Wow I'm impressed at how well it's doing. You would think a pineapple would be all about sunlight but she looks pretty dang healthy!
Also omg I love your Nick Valentine/Dogmeat themed avatar so, so much. I love that babelicious synth detective to bits and pieces :D
(don't be afraid to ping me! :) I don't bite, I just glow a little) To be fair, that grow light is pretty high-intensity and keeps it toasty in that closet too, I could see a pineapple enjoying that. I don't have any idea what pineapples like, I just stuck the top in some dirt and was honestly kind of surprised it grew haha.
Thank you! 💚 Right? Tears me up that we can't romance him. At least Curie's there for me. lol
honestly I always forget pinging is a thing. I really have to learn to use this site better, lmao.
I KNOW RIGHT! I can't believe they made him so wonderful and so detailed and important to the story, and then didn't let us romance him! Meanwhile Mr Another Settlement Needs Your Help gets to be all lovey dovey. Puh-leez. Give me Robot Sam Spade any day.
and lol, sounds like you garden like I do. I just chuck things in wherever it seems like they'll vibe, and if they don't, well... something will grow there in the end, right? Sure, it might be a weed, but it still flowers.
I like to start seeds from random fruits I eat and then watch them sprout and die. Well, I don't actually like to watch them die; they just usually do lol. I started so many avocado plants as a kid...they'd get really tall and spindly and then always die. I don't know what it takes to actually keep an avocado alive. I sprouted a lychee seed once and it did really well at work in an office cubicle environment but eventually I had to take it home...and guess what? It died. ._.
Weeds can be wonderful! I wish we'd normalize letting native wild plants grow in yards instead of having manicured lawns. Dandelions and daisies and clover are pretty. I'd rather look at a field of happy little wildflowers than worry about mowing and watering a bunch of useless grass, and native plants provide food and habitat for beneficial insects and wildlife.
I like to think the actual reason romancing Nick is off-limits is that he's still loyal to his late fiancée from his original human existence. He seems like the kind of guy who'd be super wholesome like that. Lol, Preston is actually kind of awesome when you reach full affinity with him though. I found his story really touching and his constant pestering about the settlements didn't bother me so much after that.
I mostly just keep things that can withstand neglect :') Pothos and philodendrons are my faves, love the vining behavior.. snake plants are hardy as heck and I had some peace lilies that hung in there a long time before I accidentally neglected them to death. Succulents are also kind of immortal, but I'm iffier on those as they tend to get weird and leggy without good light. I'll have to look up some of the plants in this thread, some names I don't recognize!
My favorite is my aloe vera plant. She's huge - and I mean it. Have you ever seen an aloe vera flower? It's a bush of green tendrils with a single, five-foot-tall flower. makes my eldritch-loving heart flutter <3
All of my succulents. I have had them about 2 years now.I got them for like 10 cents each at Home Depot. They were all almost dead. I somehow saved them from the brink of death. I now how so many. They have spouted babies, I have given them away for gifts. No clue what they are, but I love them!

I have an aloe plant from my fiance's mother - i had to separate some of the aloe's pups though, so now i have 3 pots of aloe o.o I also have 3 geraniums that i struggle to keep alive for some reason. i don't know what i do wrong. T-T I also have 1 Kalanchoe i bought in full bloom, and I can't make it bloom anymore. T-T Then, i have 2 more plants that need bigger pots for, and i don't know what they are. One could be elephant's ears, but i can't be sure. i like them all.
I really have to update my blog ObscureJourney and my review site BeingObscure. French speakers can read my reviews here.
My most favorite plant that I have is my begonia Coralina de Lucerna! It’s gorgeous with metallic silver spots on the leaves and the underside of the leaves is red.
I also have some pothos, a Christmas cactus, a spider plant, a Chinese money plant, a couple aloe, a string of turtles, a burro’s tail, and a small lemon tree.
I have a cactus, a christmas cactus, and an unknown succulent that was given to me. Two have been with me for about a year. The Christmas cactus was gifted to me by my veterinarian’s office after my dog died.
So I don’t know the names of all of them but here they are:
Climbing Aloe— got it as an itty bitty that was root bound and had to be literally pried from its pot (who makes pots with rims??), now is over a foot tall with two large offshoots! It’s gonna be repotted soon but I gotta make a support for it first since it keeps falling over.
Cactus With Red Bulb— got it on a whim from I think Home Depot, they had hot glued a flower to it. It’s growing slowly but the mini bulbs off the main one are growing in size! Just a little window friend.
Bear Claw Succulent— absolutely precious. Just got them and I’m in love. I’ve been wanting one forever so when I saw them for sale I snagged it!
Spiky Plant I Don’t Remember What The Name Is— just a little guy who is shaped like an exceptionally spiky mowhawk. Gonna need a repot soon probably but it is currently growing new little shoots!
Mystery Succulent— found it in a store somewhere and have had it for the longest. I love this little thing but it is a menace to care for. It grows long and tall and is currently in a rectangular pot that I had to loop it in TWICE before it fully fit. Drops leafs easily that always turn into babies. I love this thing but I honestly don’t know what kind of pot it’s going to move into next— and it will need another eventually. It has been growing exploratory roots everywhere. Honestly think it might be good with multiple pots that it can set down in though I’m concerned those are then going to break away from the main plant and I’ll have even more of them. As for the mystery element, I literally do not know what kind of succulent this is. I have been looking for info in this plant since I got it and have found nothing. Even showed it to a professor who studied plant physiology and he didn’t know. Current theory is it’s just a sub species that isn’t very popular— but a sub species of what? No idea.

I currently have some sage, aloe vera, and some regular houseplants. Though my favorites are basil and oregano~

I did have a "indoor bonzai tree" but the kitty ate it. Well at least my cactus should be safe.
I have 2 thanksgiving cactuses that I've been able to keep alive for years now; very proud of myself. They bloom every year, too!

I only have an chamaecyparis right now.

I used to have a few plants like Lucky Bamboo, a couple of Norfolk Pines, Peace Lilly and others but when I moved the lack of natural sunlight killed all of them off save for a ivy of some sort.
But I am gonna be moving soon so I hope at some point I can buy another Norfolk pine or some other nice plant.
I used to have a spider plant too and it grew like crazy..but it also keep getting sun burned 'cuz there was no other place to keep it where it got lots of light.
Cigarettes are just like squirrels; perfectly harmlesss...until you put one in your mouth and light it on fire!
