I had to go dark on most social sites for the election. I knew the pumpkin would have a tantrum I just didn't want to know the truth until all votes are counted; my mental health doesn't cope well with the great pumpkin in office. And I'm a Canadian - that's how far the fear he spreads reaches.

Hello hello fellow nurse! You’d totally rock it as a peds MD! I’m jealous of your work life balance, lol. All it seems like I’m doing nowadays is picking up OT cause they’re always short uwu (night shift too so days off can be tough to adjust)

I’m sorry to hear the election stress reaches that far. I’m still muted on the news till maybe next week. It’s giving everyone tons of anxiety and or anger, depending on which side you’re on lol

your name calling really doesn't help. I would rather have our President then the Zombie. See? I really shouldn't have said that, but name callers tick me off

I avoided the news for two days. More successful at it than I thought I would be. Still haven't watched a full news program, now just reading newspaper updates or the occasional stream on youtube for info.

Name calling of political figures is fine with me here as long as they aren't libel or crude or break subeta's rules. Express your anxiety. I understand. If you'd rather I can create a thread for politcal discussion in the KS forums or have a channel for it created in our discord.

And slippy, I find it difficult to believe name callers tick you off 'cause Trump is the king of the name callers. Just sayin'.

I wish our state was doing another lock down/curfew of some kind. Good for MA for that. Hope it helps get the numbers lower. And I, too, would prefer people with a governing/legislative background in any higher office I vote for. I would never vote for anyone who didn't have it for president etc. You should start at the bottom or at least the middle and work/learn your way up.

Hiya! Welcome back. You missed Morostide but are back in time for Fireside and Luminaire. And we totally understand about rl being hectic, no worries.

Just a thank you for the hard work you both do. ❤

I use to work at an elderly facility in Cali but then I relocated to South Korea over a year ago. Just me and my kids, finding a balance was hard. But now it's easy, now I've scheduled my priorities.

I'm already on call, whenever the hospital needs me.

Every comment was well made, thank you for fleshing out my comment on being qualified let alone fit for public office - makes the case that much knowledge is necessary to be learned before major decisions that affect a nation can be made and has nothing to do with color of party or of man. What I fail to understand is why so many non wealthy would vote for someone that wants to take away what they have. He wants to eliminate Social Security in 3.5 years which for many like myself is their sole income. Very happy that this will not happen. The one thing I would love to see is that all people that vote should only watch or read unbiased news and not any with a view that is slanted. CSpan is just such a channel or PBS even to show what is really happening down to how things are voted in the house and senate. We all need to learn how our political party feels on the issues that concern us all.

My mom and I rant about that to with other often. We do not understand why people vote against their best interest. I feel like many people just don't pay attention to everything and vote single issue or so, without seeing the big picture or being able to see the lies. From all sides. All sides lie, bend the truth, whatever at some point. Some more than others. Got to sift through it. Investigate. Listen for yourself what they say. I watched the debates (so painful), I watch speeches. Love me some cspan. I don't need or want someone else to tell me what to think.

Wish we lived near each other, would have some rousing conversations! Yes, I agree many think party without knowing what a candidate wants to do. Why anyone would think that todays republican party supports them if they are not wealthy or upwardly mobile is incorrect. See the vote split along those lines as well. The uneducated or stupid as they have been called voted for him not understanding that he doesn't have their best interest at heart. No wonder he loves them.

I think we would. lol My mom talks about moving up to MA. She's been there and some of my father's extended family is there, though I don't know them. I've never been but I sure miss the east coast. Change is hard though. That would be a big, brave change, Plus one of my brothers is in Kentucky so moving would mean seeing him even less. Still we keep talking about it. I think once covid is under some sort of control and we can sell mom's house in NJ we might seriously look at visiting MA to check it out. Health willing.

Awesome! Maybe one day. Am curious which part of MA you would like to live in if you have any idea. Just a pipe dream but a great one. Yes, very big change, won't be easy. But some of the best choices aren't. So much to consider.

My mom said she'd like to be near a metro station of Boston. She says I don't want to drive in Boston. But having not been there I am not really sure where we would end up. Need to look at other cities and towns and the healthcare system there.

If I can be of any help I live just East of Boston with subway access. I feel the same way as your Mom about being near the metro. Years ago when I was young and just starting work while having my own place I lived in town Boston since there was rent control. Boston is so compact used to walk far and take the subways, could even walk in minutes from Beacon Hill where I lived to Government Center to work. And of course Boston has Mass General and Mass Eye & Ear, personally I am glad that they accept Medicare as they are the only places I go for care.

as name calling goes, I figured I was tame enough to (hopefully) not offend. Sorry about that.

Actually, to be totally honest, I was thinking the only offense that anyone would have was that I used a Charlie Brown reference.

I didn't think the name calling was really that bad.

It was EXTREMELY tame. The only thing that should be offended are actual pumpkins.

Well, Linus would probably be offended on the Great Pumpkin's behalf. But he'd get over it. Eventually.

Ok, then.

Had my brother in laws birthday celebration and we didn't talk politics! Yay! He is back to working as a chef so we got him some chef things for his popup like induction burners and pans. I got him a really cool cookbook called In Bibi's Kitchen which had a bunch of recipes from African mothers and grandmothers. Juniper ran me ragged and wouldn't stay out of the kitchen when food was cooking and had to be held by me or my mom or she would cry. So cute, so tiring.

Glad he's back to working as a chef! My brother has been back working (used to be a chef, manages now) for a few weeks. Though not at his usual restaurant but a different one until his opens. No idea when that will be.

Ooh, neat cookbook. I'm always looking for different cookbooks for my brother. He's got tons so it's tough to find something unique he doesn't have and he loves trying new things at home.

Aww, glad you had a fun, if tiring, time with your niece! Sounds wonderful.

Hello, everyone! I hope everyone is doing well. I been super busy this week working overtime. I will be on more later today! It snowed a tiny bit this weekend, but its supposed to get worse through the week and we received an emergency alert regarding the rise in COVID-19 in my State.

The only time I have really gotten anything from vending is when new items have come out, like clothing. I recently did some vending and it was really lackluster so I'm going to save my wizard tokens for now.

I usually only vend for new items as well, or if I want crystals for the fragmentizer. I'll sometimes vend OD, chuck it all in my shop, autoprice and then remove everything that prices lik 5k or so and under and then frag them all. Can get a lot of crystals that way. Though there hasn't been too much in the shop since the last clearing.

Woohoo!

AuroraScent won spotlight today!

I'm so happy! She was in queue for at least a year!

I had stepped away for a bit and saw a lilac blob image, and I was like, "Is this my pet?"

And it was!

First time I won since the spotlight changes; I legit was worried a glitch had occurred and all my pets had been kicked out of queue!

I uh...vended OD for a Riptide...to sell off. I still have that dream of becoming rich through a high-end item sale..... ;)

I've been holding onto my tokens too, even when the TS restocks!
