"We are aware of the issues around the community guidelines and are working to resolve it." What issues? What's with with the CG?
For most of the morning and afternoon no one could post anywhere on site, be it forums, news comments, etc. Everyone was told to agree to the guidelines but the page wouldn't register your accepting of them.
I'm guessing they needed to fix the page to let people post again.
What Virus said. I accepted the guidelines THREE times and still couldn't access SB and forums....
I thought I had done something to get banned from those features at first...it was nervewracking.
Did people make tickets to make staff aware of the issues since SB and forums weren't working for everyone?

We were very aware it was happening -- hundreds of people wrote in, and it also affected staff just the same as everyone else, so. It's been an interesting day!

I had the same thought, and I was wracking my brain trying to figure out what I might have inadvertently done. Finally I sent in a ticket detailing all my activities for the last several hours and asking what was up, only to be told, "Yeah, we know, it's an issue." Which made me feel sheepish but which was also a relief.
I'm frustrated that no one made any sort of general announcement about the issue until several hours later, especially since the Forums were unavailable to everyone to ask or answer questions. I don't know when the banner was put up. I submitted my ticket at 8:50am Subeta time and when I went to bed around 12:30pm Subeta time, there still was no notice.
I'd even suggested in my ticket that someone make a news post, and I was told that it had already been suggested and only admin can do that.
I'm not sure whether to submit a site feedback post about this or not. It seems kind of silly, and I have my hands full being mad at a different company's incompetence this morning afternoon evening?, so I'm extra grumpy.
