Happy birthday! Everyone went out and bought all the cleaning products and cleaned their houses. well not me. I wish i did more of that, lol. I really suck at cleaning... well, at least i dislike it the most, so i do it once or twice a month. yesterday i spent almost the whole day cleaning the kitchen top to bottom, and i'm still not done. This included the fridge on the inside, behind the fridge, scrubbing the floor by hand, window sills, wall tiles so on. and i have a bad back. that's why it took me so long to do it and not be done. i'll be done today. So, just because i did all that sewing, i still didn't do everything i wanted, so try not to feel too bad.
Too much leisure time maybe is not good, but it really depends on how stressed out your body and brain were. and i think they were pretty stressed if you stayed so much in front of the TV. don't compare yourself to others
I really have to update my blog ObscureJourney and my review site BeingObscure. French speakers can read my reviews here.
Literally the only ones I have are either the ones in the picture (which are size 8/5.0mm) or my giant ones you could slay a vampire with. Like, I'd need to probably have a minimum of 5 strands of worsted weight to make anything at least semi-solid. But I figured dealing with more than 1 strand of yarn is probably not ideal for a first/learning project.

I am currently waiting for some worbla and foam clay so that I can try to make some prostetics ( this case it is horns as they will be for a online LARP character I am going to play on saturday ) Ive also been tying to come together with some dress design for a 'orient'- themed ballgown for an other LARP, that currently are on a break thanks to the pandemic.
Ive also come up with a few more melodies, thinking of trying to build up on it to see if I can make an actual longer song out of it.
Just wondering if anyone is still in quarantine? My city moves into Phase 2 of reopening on Monday and my bf has been back to work physically instead of working from home for weeks, but it still feels like little has changed in my daily life since the beginning of this pandemic. I’m still avoiding leaving my apartment and social distancing when I do. My colleagues and I are slated to go back to work physically in September, but I think it’ll either be eventually interrupted or cancelled by a second wave, and I’m preparing myself to continue working from home.
Project-wise, I’ve made lots of different kinds of scrunchies, a cotton pouch for soap, floral appliqués for fabric face masks, covers for disposable masks, a hair ribbon, a jar cozy, and a little crocheted version of Hermione’s bag.

Ooh it's cool to see what people have been up to! I've written a liitttle bit, made protein pancakes, and I'm wanting to make some no bake energy balls with oats, peanut butter, protein powder, cacao, chocolate chips, and dates maybe.

I have still been working way more than most people probably have (though a lot of stuff in the US at least is opening back up some), so my creativity has kind of stopped existing, but I've bought some cute fabrics to use for masks, which I may start getting cut out tonight and assemble them tomorrow or Tuesday. I just need to print off the actual pattern that I want to use. And I also am almost done with a mer-dragon plushie, I just need to figure out how to attach the fin.

I got a Cricut machine right before quarantine happened, so I've been making stuff with that! Lots of signs and stuff, haven't tried iron ons yet but that's on the list! :D
I have been fleshing out the personality and story of a character of mine.
He's basically a 'jerk with a heart of gold' type with the impulse to set fires, and these impulses had in trouble with the law a number of times despite the actual fires being accidents. This combined with the mean, tough mask he wears has his community believing that he is nothing but a lost cause. He wants to prove that's not the case by becoming a detective, firefighter, or something of the sort.
I wrote 3 pages, 1580 words of a horror story. In one go. FINALLY, I finish a story I set out to write. Now I have to decide if I want anyone to ever read it or if it would even make sense to anyone who isn't me. I don't want to share it if it's actually crap but I don't know if it actually IS because I'm biased because it's my story. Does that make sense?
Help.
Mail art is something new that I've picked up during this time. I've always been into stationery, and I've been putting my collection to use by sending cute notes and small gifts.

I haven't been doing anything, honestly. Everyone knows I hate my apartment. My mom says I should clean the windows because I still live here. I only managed to clean my main bedroom window. That took hours. I still have.... 3 to go ;-;. Yesterday I had to close my windows because the smell from next door is abhorrent.
What I did manage to do yesterday: dust 90% of the place, clean the washing machine, vacuum and did a small load of laundry.
I ordered some wax seal things, but I need the stamper LOL. I also need wax and a wax warmer. It's not like I'm into arts and crafts, but wax seals have always appealed to me. I'd also like to do some abstract painting and maybe sell it. It won't be anything fancy. Art supplies are very expensive, especially when you've lost your job.
Painting some mini ceramics that I plan on giving to my cousins' kids this Christmas since the Kmart that I used to go to after work closed right before we went into quarantine (they were basically $5 a pop) and since I've had no place to go for the past couple of months, I figured I might as well start on them ( lock down :( ). I have a really bad habit of using mostly metallic paints but it works. I've also taken up drawing birds again, something I haven't done in over a year.
I have a wax seal but I only used it once to make valentines. The tutorials on Instagram are really cool. I like shopping at Paper Source if you have those near you. They have a bigger variety of wax seal supplies than other shops, but can be a bit pricey. The big arts and crafts stores always have sales and coupons too. I'm sorry about your job, and the apartment.
I had no idea there were Kmarts in New York City!
I've been making origami again, mostly stars and sewing them into garlands.

We only have one craft store and they kinda suck. The only craft store in our city. We don’t have Kmart, or Target (target closed all stores in Canada as they were more expensive than Walmart. I loved Target. I would shop there frequently).
I might just go to dollar tree or something and pick up paint. You can do a whole bunch of pour art now
Not many more exist where I live. It was convenient because it was in the hub (Penn Station) where I would take the trains to and from work. The amount of times when I had such huge bags on the trains and had to hide in a corner in order for them not to get stepped on :) Targets are still around but, sadly, there aren't any Walmarts by me.
My mom swears by Dollar Tree for handy-dandy items for our Girl Scout Troop. I loved going there so I can pick up stuff to decorate the house with. Heck, I think the majority of my Halloween and 4th of July decorations came from there.
Etsy is a good place to find bargains too.
I've been to the Target in Herald Square, but honestly suburban Targets are better. I'm so glad Moynihan Station was built at Penn Station. It's a lot more pleasant now waiting to for the train when I take trips out to LI.

I haven't been to Herald Square in a long time. Come to think of it, I haven't traveled far to anywhere, except to LI since I work out there and Jersey to go to my uncle's house as my family hadn't seen him since February. RIP Kmart....oh, the stuff I used to bring home :(
; AHHH I keep gettin cricut DIYs recommended to me on Youtube and I cried everytim...have you seen the Spotify wall art video?
; HAHAHA reading your window struggles made me smile. Windows are a b*tch to clean sometimes and leaving streaks everywhere is so frustrating. My mom swears by vinegar + newspaper to clean windows but I haven't adopted that tip because it stanky.
I have been trying to cook/bake more (I hate both lmao) and I've been on a Subeta BINGE. I can't get enough but I am sP poor rn and my head is exploding w ideas for pets. Started a vegetarian recipe book with my boyfriend and am gonna try to work out today. May Chloe Ting empower my soul.

[font=verdana]art shopI’m not in Canada, I’m in the states! I have been going to Target and shopping for non-essential items a lot less though. Good luck with the recipe book and exercise!
I’m working on a crochet bag that looks like a big lemon right now. I think my next projects will be crocheting some soot sprites and Jiji the black cat from Kiki’s Delivery Service.

OMG. THE FUCKING STRUGGLE IS REAL!
I've cleaned two and I left streaks and I don't even care. Plus, it looks like I never even cleaned them (This place is a POS. The windows and doors need to be replaced and what's the point because the window seals bring in everything from outside. Also, who would put caulking on windows? That was fun to take off and I have shelves that've been nailed with picture nails. Yeah. I don't wanna talk about it (I had a shelf that broke and it got stuck and I put two big holes on the walls in the closet. I'll have to fix everything when I find a new place ). I have two to go and I just... like... DO I DO THEM? I GUESS I SHOULD.
