before I got news of moving into a new place I was in the process of customizing a plushie that I bought off mercari I got to the cheek blushing before I got the news now i gotta post pone it D;
Hmmm....unfortunately I've only found 1 loom knit pattern for a Totoro plush and after buying and downloading it, I really don't think I like it much. But I'm hoping I can figure out a way to modify it. If I ever can find free time, I'll have to test it out and also check through my other patterns for workable modifications. XD

I've been working on an EP that's getting mastered rn and I am also learning how to play the drums!!! I'm so pumped.

Good luck with your loom knit Totoro! I might crochet one eventually. What didn’t you like about the design?
Right now I’m working on crocheting a bag of bells from Animal Crossing for my sister.

Currently crocheting a baby blanket for one of my good friends!
It sounds weird, but just...the way it's made in general, I don't care for much. Like, they make the body basically as one big tube and then make the white belly separately and sort of attach it like an applique. And to make the ears, they just sort of squish the top of the tube shape and stitch across the base of where the ear would be. I mean, I appreciate the simplicity, but it just doesn't quite look as good as I think it could. So I'm gonna look into other plushie patterns I have to see what I can find for possible modifications.
Unfortunately, that project is now on hold as the lady who was asking about more custom cat plushies finally got back to me and wants them, so I have to track down the yarn for those and get started on them. But for today, I'm just gonna see if I can finish up the fox I started a month or so ago.

Going to get started on my mother's birthday gift! My little sister's birthday comes first, but she's been asking for a specific gift for a long time. My mother liked the embroidery piece I made for my dad's birthday so I think I'm going to make her a piece as well. Probably some characters from her favorite show or redrawing a picture of her as a kid but embroidery style!
That sounds fun, what's the blanket like?
Good luck with all your loom knitting, and keep me posted here!
I've always wanted to pick up embroidery and cross-stitch. 😊

That sounds great! I love to crochet too! I actually learned how to embroider from watching youtube videos :) So it's totally something you can learn at home! Amazon has great embroidery thread bundles. I got a lot of embroidery thread that way and it was cheap so I didn't feel bad if I messed up at the beginning.
It's a gray and white granny square blanket, and I'm going to add on pink flowers! Their nursery is pink/gray and woodland themed. I gotta bust my butt though, I'm a slow crocheter and the baby shower is October 17!

I'm sorry the images are huge! I can't figure out how to resize them!
My partner designed these 3D printed pendants for our store for the holidays, I've been printing them for the past few days.

Well, not much progress has been made yet, though I did make a scalemaille necklace that I may or may not wear for halloween (I think I just want a different pendant for it really). But also in early October may have the custom order for scale gloves come in (the gal ordering asked me about how long they would take to make and if she paid me for them in early Oct, would they be done in time for christmas), so I'm gonna have to stop being lazy and start hauling butt to get the cats done (or possibly at least get all the yarn I need ordered, I can't seem to find the colors I need of the yarn type I need in stores, so will probably have to go online for them) in the next couple of weeks. And also will need to take stock of my scales to see if I need to order any. She mentioned the color purple being one of her kid's favorite colors, so I'll probably need to put in an order for more of those for sure, but I can't do that until next weekend as it's a bit pricey usually since I like to stock up on other project supplies at the same time whenever possible and they usually have some good limited edition jump ring or scale colors.

Do you recommend any YouTube channels or tutorials?
How pretty! Good luck working on it.
Those are cute! 👻
Are you going to wear the necklace with a festive outfit or a costume? Good luck shopping for and creating your projects. I want to get the new Hue + Me yarn from Lion Brand Yarn. It launched last week and comes with such pretty patterns for knitwear and housewares.

It'll be worn with a mostly simple makeshift elf outfit/costume. I have to work all day and am not much of a party person (besides, partying during covid? Nah) so there's not much point to dressing up, but I just felt like it. Oooh, those yarn colors in the Hue + Me collection are really pretty! I haven't looked into the patterns yet, but since I doubt they have any loom knit ones, I probably won't bother looking too hard. And thanks. Discovered that I have almost no purple scales, so that'll be a big purchase. And for the yarns, I need to track down Red Heart Hygge yarn (or a comperable yarn type if Hobby Lobby still has their's in stock here) in black and probably white. I work at a Joann and just got in the hygge yarns a month or two ago and literally have every color except the ones I need. XP

I really liked watching Craftsy and Hand Embroidery and Crafts Beginner's Embroidery videos (they're two different channels). Diana Vingert is also fun to watch just for inspiration. Handiworks is cool and has good videos (she embroiders with ribbon too). Baroudi Broderie also has a good intro series. Most of them focus on flowers, but Handiworks also covers other designs! The best thing is you can find all their channels for free on Youtube!
Thank you!
Do you have any recommendations for where to get a starter embroidery set?

Amazon has some pretty good ones that come with thread, hoops, cloth, and needles included. You can find them by searching "Embroidery Kit". Most are under 20 bucks!
You can also search up "Bracelet thread" if you just want to buy the thread and use a regular sewing needle. Personally I just use regular sewing needles. I just look for needles that have a good sized opening and are thick enough that I won't bend them when I push them through fabric. Some people also like to just embroider on their old t-shirts or pillow covers. You don't necessarily need a hoop but it does help.
Thank you! I might consider picking up a kit today. It seems like a relaxing hobby at the very least. I might actually have some bracelet thread lying around, and I definitely have sewing needles. What's the fabric that you actually embroider when you make an embroidery called?

I'm going through all of my pet profiles this morning and writing copy for as many as I can.
So far I have the following pets completely done, and I'm especially proud of Cres: NauscopyCrescive

The most common fabrics used for embroidery are Aida cloth or Hardanger fabric. Those are the official ones. What you most want is fabric that isn't too stretchy or else it's hard to embroider. If you don't want to spend on embroidery fabric, old pillow cases are great for practice. People also like embroidering their old jeans (though you might want to use a thimble if you're pushing through jean fabric).
Do you like working at JoAnn? I can shop there when I'm in the suburbs, but my city doesn't have any. Most of my yarn comes from Michaels. The Lion Brand Yarn Studio used to be near me but they permanently closed in the spring. I need to make more of an effort to visit my local yarn shops, but I've been sticking pretty close to home other than work because of the pandemic lately.
Thank you for all the recommendations! ❤️
