Love your HA! And I love the name Tiny Bubbles :D I have a cat named Noodles. I'd love a second wave of Vesnali goodies. They are usually so pretty! I don't have AC in my apartment. We do have a setup where we can make a 'wind tunnel' that cools the place down with strategically placed fans. we went on a 6-mile hike today. Saw some birds, including a scarlet tanager! We also saw a pretty waterfall, had a nice view at the summit of the mountain, and explored a pretty neat cave!

Now you know why I wanted to leave OHIO. Brrr. 325 days a year of cold and gray skies. Wind tunnels are nice and breezy though. My daughter keeps here a/c on, and walking up the stairs from her place is like going from Spring to Summer. Up another flight to our room is adding another 20 degrees to that. I raised them without a/c, we only had a desert cooler, which costs less to run but doesn't help THAT much when the temp is very high. My oldest daughter's husband does not understand how they grew up here without a/c!

I don't understand the schooling system here. I am glad I am NOT in the government having to make decisions that affect everyone differently. If it's a babysitting system, it would run differently than just a holding pen for social interaction. If it's a place where young people can have an OPPORTUNITY to learn (if they choose) it's a lot different than a place to competitively compete for test scores, which is entirely different than competing for KNOWLEDGE. Or maybe it's a place to keep them (mostly) safe from potential predators, just a place to let them grow until they can choose their own path. I think it's mostly the last, but that denies them TRUE choice, because I think honest objective exposure gives them choices, not opinionated, one sided systems which most schools have become. I am even scared to use the word liberal thinking, which has become a trigger word for one sided narrow mindless of a new kind. On the other hand, religious, and conservative systems don't expose ideas either. Bugga. It's all rather complicated. There are a lot of complaints and not a lot of solutions. I was hoping Corona would give schools the opportunity to change something. And I hear you about wanting to talk face to face!

Are you able to take those rests? Has your work resumed full time? I have been napping every day after work. I can't imagine having to work from 8-16 as I had been for years.

I can relate to the furniture conundrum! I have a tiny little sitting area to accommodate a huge dining table (which we need on weekends when family come). Recently put a little sofa in there, which we removed again to put the rocking chair which doesn't really fit there. I wish we could all just sit on the floor ! (we can't though.)

The 12 days of steroids having the desired results? I am not yet sure about the new allergy pills.... So tired of runny nose, sneezing and coughing! Gack! Sorry about your allergies -- I'm allergic to my cats, to dust, to pollen, to autumn leaves. . . the only time I DON'T have a runny nose is mid-summer, so I can certainly sympathize you feeling like you are allergic to air! We had a cat with bad allergies and we always said her problem was being allergic to cats. 😆

Thanks! Yours is adorable! My main wardrobe problem right now is not being able to sort into drawers. I really need that feature to work! I've tried with the old and the new. I can usually get an outfit saved with the old wardrobe (after a few tries) but haven't had much luck with the new. I hope it's fixed for us both soon!

It seems the mulberry tree is drying up, my last attempts to pick fruit have been slim. But I also know its been here twenty years.

I agree with what you're saying. It's hard to talk to others about the issues needing fixed in education without them trying to make it a political issue. When they make it a political issue, it quickly stops being about education. I want every child to succeed, but what people have to realize is there's no standard level of success for every child. For some, success is a doctorate, and for others it's reaching high school.

Sometimes it feels like babysitting, or prison guard. The greatest frustration in life will come when you have a student cussing, knocking over desks, trashing your room and screaming their heads off. You get them out of the room to the office/counselor and think whew, they're gone. Not! They return to the classroom in under 15 min. Apparently they just needed a brain break and they're now ready to return to class. ...um, no.

But on the other hand, your greatest joy will come when that same student, who has made your life hell for the last 6 months. Who you've stressed over because they're the one student who has perfect attendance. (You know what I'm talking about!) That student will come up to you and thank you for never giving up on them. I had that happen to me. I cried happy tears. I've seen the same thing happen to several teachers in my building; it's the best feeling.
