- What do you teach?? I am a music teacher (or have been until the pandemic) and since that all went down I have been online teaching middle schoolers :D

Surgical Nursing and Dentistry for veterinary technicians. I also oversee externships. This pandemic turned us inside out and on our heads. I'll be glad when this semester is over. I loved music class. Choir was so much fun!
- I was always an instrumental person, but I taught choir and general music (composing and music theory) for 5 years <3 This whole this is rough, I have been just focusing on making sure the kids are feeling supported and loved (and of course we are learning some things whenever possible!) xD
I am sorry this all got personal very quickly, thank you for listning to my small rant 😅

Nah, it's all good. I get it about making sure the students getting the support they need. I have several that are struggling and it's been challenging to keep them on task and focused. The only instrument I 'learned' to play is the piano. I took maybe 6 lessons and then I chickened out at the recital and quit (I was probably 10 or 12 years old lol). Choir was much safer for me since I was in a group. I did one solo in my senior year, but that was it.
I'm stressed out today, after lunch I'm marching outside to chop some trunks into firewood. A couple of hours could cinch it. Some rest, then online homework to catch up. I'll need to conduct some research to facilitate the disassembling of my engine.
I'm all for supporting our teachers, not just the academic sort. Anyone willing to show the way towards a productive life needs a certain level of understanding. The time will come when it'll be my turn to teach, something of vital importance. Still learning to get there.
[Edit] So engrossed was I, I hadn't realized that I finished the majority of the assignments. Except for some overlooked online-only chapter assessments, and a whole lotta corrections I'm done. Looks like the next week's are for some intense sessions to go for an A.
Good evening everyone!! I hope you are all having a wonderful Saturday <3

Kia ora, Greetings all, Hope this wee note finds you and your loved ones well.
Finally had a sunny and hot day today. A sign that Summer is just around the corner ☀ In the upside down that is. I hear places are getting flurries over there. Guess the harvest is nearly up and most will be hunkering down to face the Winter.
Work has been full on but I like that. Makes the days go faster and I look forward to Summer Holidays. Spending time out in the Surf, my Big blue backyard :D Will also go off grid to our family farm. I always go to the Hawkes Bay ❤ Is my second home. Around this time of the year is my 6 week stretch up there.
Anyways, just thought I would touch base. Takecare 🌹

GAK!!! You have visited the bathhouse 1 day in a row! You found 5,000 sP Missed yesterday. So busy! I don't even know what I did after the Sabbath... oh yeah, talked on facebook with an old college friend, then a 12 step sponsee, then went to bed LOL
I missed out on the quill conversation. What was everyone talking about? (Sorry it was from nano-eons ago).
Quills are pretty FP totally out of my control LOL
I only used shoutbox ONCE, early on. I met a lovely person here who was so picked on that she let subeta. I came here and loved every minute, and didn't know what she was experiencing so I went there. Not my cuppa and that was that. We post links and pictures in forums all the time, so the sb rules must be really different. Nice that people came to help you out. I once posted a family picture on "that other place" and got heckled. Yeesh. I did go back on Friday to feed the pets though. LOL
Yessireee, so nice that you are! If you already left for your summer resort, could you bag a little vacation cheer to send my way? ;)
Waving wildly
Day off today? How are the studies going? Winter set in here. I love it when I am home and warm.... not so much when I am out chasing our poor dear student who acts like a 3 year old, without fear of danger: climbing the fence and running away from school 3-4 times a day. I AM benefiting from the extra steps though! hehehe
Hiya! Nice to see you here! I have gotten sucked into a phone app that I can't seem to walk away from, besides getting ready for an (outdoor, in the WINTER) wedding coming up in 2.5 weeks.... I forget to log in here, my favourite place in the cyberworld!
How are you doing? Zoom teaching or back in the classroom?
: I have an account on the other place, but I haven't been there for over 7 years. I forgot my password and the date I signed on and without that date you can't do anything. So I gave up. I don't miss it. I love it here. I like this forum because I can tell horrible jokes.
: It was hot here in Central California right up to about a week and a half ago, with temps in the 90's (F). As soon as November hit...BAM! freezing temperatures and frost warnings. The little bit of rain and snow that we got helped the firefighters with the Creek Fire nearby, which has burned 379,895 Acres (593 sq mi), so the fire is about 70% contained. It should be out by Christmas. You are just now starting Summer in New Zealand and I gotta say, I envy you. For all the trouble we've had here this Summer in California, I love the Summer. I love fishing, swimming, hiking, and flying (hmmm...long story....) in the Central Sierra. It's so beautiful. (Winter's beautiful too...if you like snow.) I've never surfed, but I've gone swimming in the ocean! Weldon says I have river otter blood running in my veins. (My mother thinks that river otters are promiscuous.)
: What engine are you dissembling? I'm pretty handy with a nut taker-offer or a de-screwer. Righty-tighty, Lefty-Lucy, right? (Or is it Lefty Loosey?) I have very nimble paws and I can crawl under thingies and I rarely drop doohickies and I look and smell great covered in little grease smears cause it contrasts so well with my pure white fur. I'm not kidding. I had to learn to maintain my micro-ultralight flier in order to be certified to fly it and it had a gasoline engine on it. Good luck with your studies, it sounds like you got this! I am curious about chopping up some trunks. You are talking about tree trunks, not swimming trunks or luggage, right? ( snicker! )
: As Master Healer, I'm considered a teacher too. I take 1-10 apprentices each season and train them to become Journey-Level I healers and to work here at Healer's Hall. Journey Level II Healer's can move into the outlying villages and hang a shingle and run a clinic independent of our Hall. Teaching is one of the most rewarding part of my job.
My author was a teacher of High School Chemistry and Physics for 27 years as well as being a Respiratory Therapist for 34 years. He retired three years ago and is glad he missed the whole Covid thing. His grandkids are really struggling with online instruction. He says that it just might signal the collapse of the entire execution system, that it will never be the same after this year. But then he is known to say snarky things from time to time. He's retired. He's earned it. (giggle)
Well. . . I've done terribly about checking in. :( I'm ready for Fireside, though! :) (But I need better shoes. . . )
Hi ! waves back
What is your instrument of preference? I played violin for a few years, but I have very large hands and struggled. Finally, the next teacher suggested viola, and though I was loath to give up the prestige of violin 😆 I switched and found my love! I have Asperger Syndrome, and can't do anything well that has to do with numbers, so I couldn't read music well, and had to write the letters of the notes underneath the music, but I was able to keep that hid from my teachers all those years. There just wasn't an understanding about such things back when I was in school. . . When I reached college, I stopped playing, though. I have been wanting to have the bridge repaired and relearn, just for fun. I've gone so far as to buy a beginner book, price bows, and find a repair shop, but haven't followed through. Also, super congrats on your Albert! Too cute!
Hi and ! Haven't talked to you ladies in a bit. (((hugs)))
That's awful about the lack of seriousness in your class. Hopefully they are all just ill, and not lazy!
I hope you enjoy your off the grid vacation! You tossed your Charkin Plushie into the rift and a moment of calm is followed by a flash of red lightning, before the rift shoots out Strawberry Watermelon Cybill Footsicle!
Hi there!
You tossed your Inelegant Zombish into the rift and a moment of calm is followed by a flash of red lightning, before the rift shoots out Mariachi Ankle Boots!
Ouch, I lost my streak a couple of months ago :( I was in the 200's. I did make the 300 mark once, so there's that.
I suppose we are kindred spirits, both of us being healers. Although, I'm not sure what I'd do if an injured weasel came into our hospital. I suppose I'd treat them as I would a cat or dog. But perhaps if that situation arises, I'd consult you so I know which medicine works best. I'll make sure to have a cookie on hand to make the patient feel better. (congrats to your author's retirement! I've got a few years to go before I can retire, but I'm looking forward to it!)
whenever I can't find the right shoes, I tend to find a critter or something to cover up my feet! That leaves my footwear up to your imagination :D
Speaking of healer stuff, I have to attend a virtual webinar in 5 min on nutrition for dogs and cats. Then I have to bake a birthday cake for a friend. Also been making Christmas masks! Busy day! :D
I have a 1998 Mazda 4L 2.something litre engine stripped down to the long block. I had plans to bring it to shop for proper disassembling. However a two week pause put that to a stop. If I'm to make any effort, it would be on my own, or in another semester. I'm chopping a pile of stumps cut up from a number of six to eight foot trunks. Good therapy.
Illness accounts for absence, their mistakes are more a lack of common sense. This course is an introduction to the basics, no one has made any serious mistake that would require a more severe reprimand.
Of course! Thanks for the brilliant idea! Found just the right critter, too. :)
, started the quill conversation with glass quills. Which I had never heard of. They're gorgeous!
Music. ❤

I can't do either one. LOL

- HI!!! :D Thank you again for bringing me to this lovely place with all of these amazing people! I just wanted to say that again <3 Also, I found where to get Gold Accounts and I think you really sold me on this, to be honest I don't know which features are Gold Account and which are just part of the game, but I don't want to risk it, so I am just going to get a subscription when this runs out probably 😆
& - I hope you are having a wonderful weekend <3 hugs
- I play the bassoon! I also play all the woodwinds and brass instruments (woodwinds MUCH better) I actually own a bassoon and contrabassoon reed making business, out in the real world, and I was going to be teaching orchestra until gestures vaguely at everything and everyone being home instead of at school So I am teaching 6th graders now. :D YOU SHOULD ABSOLUTELY look into getting your viola fixed and start playing again! 😍 that is so wonderful! I am also really glad that you found such love for it, I have very large hands too so playing things like the oboe and piccolo always hurt them.
- it is very nice to meet you! :) I feel sort of like I am missing a small piece of the puzzle, though 😅 May I ask what you mean by author? But, I completely feel all that fire talk, I am in AZ and it has been fire warnings and stuff until it was suddenly 50 all week 😆
On a completely different note: I recently realized there is alcohol and cigarettes in Subeta, and I have a great need for one of those cigarette avatar items 😅 They are all either custom items or multiplemillions I've noticed

I was in the school band when I was in the 7th grade. Played the clarinet. I was NOT good! XD
