Oh Wow how long did it take you to do 80 masks? My son told me, Joanne fabric canceled his whole order for me. So his going to look at other material for me.

- I spent a few days working on them...I had an assembly line going...cut all at once...next step all at once....cut ties mostly all at once. No elastic to be found so I made ties. That is too bad about the Joanne's supplies...they had some kits or something right? Wish you were near me you could use some of my crazy fabric stash.

So the assembly sounds great, I have a bored hubby I am going to rope in on it if I can. I am going to go digging in my stash of materials from all my projects. Finally a reason to use all that i have saved. One day i hope to make a quilt, like my grandma used to. We donate 4 of her quilts to a museum, one was patchwork of silk, and each piece had different crochet stitch each patch. We were afraid to use, so donating it was perfect everyone gets to admire it.

- wow sounds like your grandmother was an artist. I have made some quilts but not the artist kind :) Just machine piecing...I have not sewn quilts in awhile...loving my crochet these days. One of the reasons I stopped with the masks was to pick up my crochet hook again...so zen to crochet :)

my daughter is whipping out some masks for family n friends..we also ran out of elastic..my neighbor gave me 2 feet to finish one mask(sweetie that she is)..she passed it over the fence andi handed her a tiny quick bouquet with a ribbon on it to say thank you!!,,,the ties are a great idea!!!. look on etsy my other daughter told us to look there they have elastic. WOW 80 oh you are a wonder!1where will you donate them all..or friends n family to pass on out??

yes i love to crochet too..but you can onky make so many things and then start to gie them away hahah i made so many blankets one for each of my girls friends they loed them so much on moie nights here ..they each took theirs with them when they moed on..it is nice to know they are all snuggling up in them still

so true ...haha love making hats and scarves because they go quick but can only use so many of those....then give them away. I have a couple of blankets to finish now and a request to make some dolls.

She was an artist, I didnt have a store bought blanket until I was 16 years old. She also crocheted lace tableclothes, she did one of each of my 3 sisters and I. I remember at about 6 years old getting to chose the one I wanted. She then labeled who chose which one, and they were put aside until each of us got married. She also made clothes with out a store bought pattern, she just start cutting the material. She taught me to crochet, but I am an amateur compared to her, I learned without instruction pattern. Which bled over into sewing, I look at the measurements and pictures, and ignore the written directions. I am a visual learner, written instruction for sewing or crocheting mystify me.

Bohicon's feat of 80 amazes me completely, my masks will me for 2 sons and their wives, hubby, my middle son, and the rest will go to the hospital where my youngest daughter in law works in houston. Your neighbor is a sweet heart, and I bet the bouquet of flowers probably made her day.

wow she sounds like she was a treasure to be around...your grandmother!! mine in germany was a seamstress and fabricwonder too...i lovedto watch her work on my visits there! i am happy you are a crocheter too...we hae to stick together..i neer did like knitting though...how about you? ..one yea i made everyone hats with their footballl teams colors (we are all iinto football!!)on them with a pompom on top.it was what the players were all wearing then about 2 yrs ago..the beanies with pompoms!! i had some pictures sent to me from each families family with their hats on how fun that was!!! ..i saw you peeking in there....pulls you out into the open by your hand..long tim e no see..whsatcha]been up too? you seen that was back too?!yeahhhh

When hubby was stationed in germany, a german friend was teaching me knitting. I remember most of it, and would like to try it again. Germany has such beauitful yarn. I need to find the website, a lady here in the states sells yarn from germany. Oh I would have loved to watch your grandma. Capper09 one of the new bears is from germany

and the rest of my lair -- I keep forgetting to do this. Forgive me if it makes no sense Im kinda messed up - my own fault but I'm getting it under control. Its a rollercoaster in my head until I do tho, and words will come jumbled and make no sense. so im gonna copy and paste a few things from trying to explain what happened to push me away from here. The reason I left in the first place doesnt belong in public areas. Anyways

So.. my boy wants to show off his new toy the BVFD just picked up and gave us a tour of the fire station. He's pretty stoked, he is the first certified to run the canon. The ink still hasnt dried from the certification for his buddy..

We went from that ^ to this 2 weeks later :

The toxic plume from this beast was so bad it was spotted by satellite. Seriously. It was bad. And where are we? Wandering around the hospital waiting for Dean's dad to wake up. I left the waiting room to go find a vending machine and caught a glimpse of this happening LIVE on the tv in the hospital lobby.

I know EXACTLY who's on that 100 foot ladder. I also know from what the announcer is saying it was gonna be bad. Tires, oil, gas, god knows what else making massive clouds of black smoke was going to be toxic to newborn babes, which by the way my son and his wife happen to have just been blessed with.
I texted him I'd grab Dean and get there within the hour to get his wife and brand new baby boy up north to her parents house.

Without showing everyone in the family who was in the surgery waiting area what was going on in my mind so they didn't all get stressed out.

Yeah. That was fun.
