- sometimes I go in the kitchen just to sniff the starter! It smells so good and looks like a little bubbling cauldron of goodness...by cauldron I mean mason jar :) And now there is a growing lump of dough in a bowl in there...kitchen is so warm that dough is rising fast...if it works out with my all purpose flour I'll start another one...and give them away haha I could eat that much bread but better not :) omg rambling again...

- it is easy! I was so intimidated to start one and looked at recipes and youtube. Finally I just went for it. I did buy a little scale though. It was optional but made it easier. Hoping this first loaf turns out good...I tend to get discouraged when something fails...but so far the dough looks and smells great :)

: I don't know if Weldon uses a sourdough starter in our kitchen, I know he makes lots of different kinds of breads, but I thought he got his sourdough breads from Mr. Liverwort, Healer's Hall's cafeteria chef. Welly spends a lot of time down there helping out in the morning with the baking so that he can pick Mr. Liverwort's brain about the history of Healer's Hall. (Mr. Liverwort is somewhat of a gossip, and hears all the juicy stuff, but he's a reliable oral historian and Welly just eats up history.) Anyway...If there was one thing I would do in the kitchen it would be to start making bread. There are no knives, or boiling, or frying when making bread. Those things scare me. Bubbling sour-y goodness doesn't...it's kind of like making beer and cheese. ...holy moly, I'm getting very hungry now.

I live in New England; New Hampshire to be more precise. It is simple beautiful in autumn and that is my favorite time of year. I love walking the many trails we have and the beaches. I hope the world goes back to some sort of "normalcy" soon so I can go out and enjoy that again. I also miss my friends dearly, but my mom has an immunodeficiency so I have to stay home to protect her.

I do not believe I have a tail. Maybe it just hasn't grown yet or someone robbed me off it like with Goku's tail in Dragon Ball.

i was going to say just what you did that the starters smell is so engaging...sticks my nose in your mason jar.

at work we used to always be swaping out the starter dough..kinda like zuchinnis or tomatoes in the midwest..sometimes there is just too much to get rid of hahahahhaha,,,noone wants more after awhile of dividing it..soon enough EVERYONE has some the market becomes saturated and the price of home baked bread rises(snicker snort..) rises get it nudge nudge.. P>S> i guess since i was closer then 6 feet and wearing no mask that starter is now technically MINE :):) runs off with it.

Hi again! - thank you for taking that jar off my hands because I can't bring myself to discard the "discard" :) The bread dough doubled in size...I shaped it and now for a 30 minute "rest" before going into the oven...cross your fingers please! So far so good...

- it tickles me to do this...this staying home business got me out in the yard...I've been planting and letting our chicken run around...she always comes over to me thinking I'll find her a worm and sure enough I do. And making bread. I think I've gone back in time...except I've been enjoying Netflix haha :)

- I am in Southern California. I live in the city but my city allows back yard chickens...so I've decided I'm a city farmer :) New Hampshire sounds wonderful. Hope I can go to that part of the country one day!

wait until your flying overseas, I they took my nail clippers like I was going to give the pilot, co-pilot and crew mani/pedi. Lol! I am having issues getting bias tape and interfacing. So making bias tape by hand until interfacing arrives.
