It's been over 2 days since the last update was posted here and the site has only gotten worse in that time.

What the heck is going on?

Hey guys! This is a message from the programmers and staff!

We are continuing to work on the issue, and should have a time for scheduled maintenance posted in the next day or two.

We’ve successfully migrated the code (both the site, and the api) but that has resulted in the DB being in a different location, which is what is causing the lag / downtime, is the round trips. We make a lot of queries (way more than we should) and so that adds up to basically php just queueing up after an hour or so.

We’re figuring out what the next phase is and firefighting while we’re doing that. We do have our own slack channel that we’re all in communicating in hourly, with updates on user issues and server issues and next steps on solving the user issues as they come up. So please don't think we are ignoring this! We are just really trying to work behind the scenes.

We apologize for all this downtime and really hope to have the site back to working soon. Thank you for your patience! We know this is really frustrating especially with the additional real life stuff going on. We hope you are staying safe in the meantime.

[edit] I also want to remind that staff posts do show up almost automatically in the admin posts since the cache is lagging on posts right now! I know that is frustrating. https://subeta.net/forums.php/admin_posts/

I can't be the only one that is getting a chuckle of the "a staff posted on this thread!" ping linking to a page where only a single post is visible, calling out said staff for not bothering to update anyone in several days about the clusterfuck of what the site's fallen to, can I?

(I have to laugh here, otherwise I'll just cry.)

Has anyone else found that specialty shop purchases all display the "You are seeing this message to prevent you from accidentally making a duplicate purchase" page now?

I've gotten it with multiple browsers on multiple OSes, so I don't think it's just me, but unlike other recent bugs I haven't seen it mentioned.

I play irregularly, so it may take me a while to get back to you

I love how I can't check a ticket I made because I'm seriously wondering about the subject with this... absolute mess and I've been trying to open said ticket for TWO DAYS when they're automatically closed AFTER THREE.

The 1st of our 3 days extra time on Masquerade, and you're basically saying that in the next 1 or 2 days there will be another maintenance downtime. The site hasn't even been playable with the lag and errors since Sunday, so we can look at another 2 days like this?

I do appreciate the update, though I'm still too pissed honestly. We've had the site running better and faster years ago. But the last few years this has steadily been going downhill. I've been pumping money into this site for over 13 years. I've always been very active, daily doing most of the quests, participating in literally every event for years. I'm so sad to see what this has become. I haven't bothered with quests pretty much in the last year. The November update and resulting errors already broke something with me. Luminaire was my favorite event, I used to send out hundreds and hundreds of gifts under random trees, but I couldn't be bothered this year. The errors were still there. Then the wardrobe fiasco. Lots of items missing, raging about it, but at the same time, I really can't be bothered to list all of my missing items. Now this. I don't want to leave, because I've invested so much. But there aren't many straws left, the last one is getting in sight.

<p>I&;ve gotten it with multiple browsers on multiple OSes, so I don&;t think it&;s just me, but unlike other recent bugs I haven&;t seen it mentioned.
It's not a bug and not recent. It was put in place, because some users had the problem, that they ended up with 2 copies instead of one due to unintentional double clicks. It's there to save us from spending twice as much as we wanted.

Thank you for the update, though given the lag and dysfunction of the forums..I get that posting to the news page sends a bad message to potential new users but since the site is not exactly functional right now anyway, maybe it would be a good idea to maintain transparency while at the same time making sure the information is available to the player base. Any potential new players that read the news are seeing us asking for that, and not seeing the responses because they probably aren&;t joining while things are so fragile so they aren&;t seeing forums. Imagine how that looks to a prospective new member. Now imagine how a potential new player might feel about seeing the request for information be answered in a way that demonstrates transparency (and with it honesty and ethics), and level of camaraderie between staff and player base that bonds user and site.
I&;d like to point out something you said; you are all in communication, hourly, yet we have to ask repeatedly for updates, after days of silence. Yes, RL is a dumpster fire right now and we all need to understand that when things can go wrong they do, but again, days..hourly..and there&;s a player base here that thanks to a no notification/warning/heads up change of address and backups that were just not checked since the server move are still missing items worth potentially millions of Sp or hundreds of dollars of real money. What&;s the Teeny Tiny Pink Pig Doll going for now? Was tens of millions in Sp to buy that for my friend and it got punted by the glitch issue that is seeing no updates. Hourly communication between staff yet 4/1/20 (last post from Bug on the matter?) Can you see why we&;re less than understanding? I personally want to know what&;s going on. I don&;t like knowing that I might be missing several costly items, treasured items, or even just crap I wanted and that I will just never hear anything on it until the message &quot;Okay, all done&quot;, and then I&;m just sitting there hoping all done means all accounted for and returned, wondering if I&;m just going to find out later when I go to wear some item I know I had but hadn&;t thought of until now but, oops..all gone and since it&;s all done I might just be all out of luck.<br />
I notice that you had to wait for the site to load in order to deal with resets and I can understand that sometimes it just doesn&;t work. I&;m not expecting hourly updates but I&;d like more than one a week while I&;m here waiting, questioning, and being unable to do anything but that on the site that is at the center of it.
It&;s a difficult time for understanding and patience but what has always helped there is communication.

Which downtime? There is no downtime but incredible, unbearable lag and connection problems.

What does this mean? "We will take the site down for maintainance in a couple of days. Until then enjoy the lag & errors, the site will remain unplayable."?

The more time passes the worser it gets... At a level I didn't know was possible. I think it took three-quarters of an hour for one of my forum posts to show up. It's starting to seriously get on my nerves, thankfully the team seems to work hard on this.
