Wow... Thanks for the list, in fact I knew I had lots of those items in my wardrobe. Luckily I keep all the loyalty/quest/holiday shops items I need to buy in my WL, so it was easy to figure out a lot of them (and another lot ai just knew I had, like the basic items like some hikei balls, some beach chairs... Secret garden key, the Pooh background). Also luckily I'm not missing any CW (at least none of the ones that are listed there)

I have been here for many years and always got on well with the wardrobe, it was sorted in alphabetical order and I mostly knew what I had. now it is sorted when the page got it (?) or when it got into the wardrobe. what shoud that? I do not know when I bought something or whether I own it. I do not understand what should be better with the beta version, in all games I know is sorted by alphabet because it is easier to remember. why are things changed that work? wouldn't it be better to take care of good servers? is just a question, thanks for the update and your great job

I truly appreciate y’all giving users the benefit of the doubt with this easy-report form. It felt weird, though, submitting for two of the pricier items (2006 tie and the tempest marble) because I wouldn’t have realized independently that they were missing. It’s really lovely that trust is being given to us with this system, especially since it’s hard sometimes to trust my own memory but gosh darnit I know I kept that tie in there for way too long because “it’s 2006!!!” XD

Thank you for taking care of this. I can imagine how difficult it must be to straighten it all out. Anyway, is there any way to remove items from the new wardrobe yet?

can you confirm that "site update" from Keith will be a news post for the entire userbase to see, and not hidden in forums where only a select few will see it? or if you can not confirm it yet, heavily stress the need to do so to him after this clusterfuck of huge proportions and terrible mismanagement?

I greatly appreciate what y'all're doing in the wake of this, but user trust has plummeted especially with how the communication on these problems was handled. A news post is the very least that could work to show progress in the "transparency" and listening to the begging of users for clear and accessible information.

Please stay safe out there, and good luck!

Heh, seems I was missing some items too. Nothing too expensive, so I just bought most of it again (with either sP or other currencies). Good thing I use SubetaLodge, so I knew EXACTLY if I had the item or not; if SL said yes and the site said no, I must've lost it. :D

I'll patiently wait for the three items I felt were too expensive to rebuy (50k is whatever, but 200k+ is a bit too much). ^^

I see a lot of people talking about items being replaced when they don't think they owned them. This is going to happen! This is posted on the confirmed items list:

"Go ahead and make reports even if you're only mostly sure, not 100% sure, if you had an item. We would like to reduce the burden on you, and we are choosing to err on the side of getting everyone their items back, and will NOT be punishing or correcting false positives."

From what I understand, what they mean by saying those certain items were deleted from all accounts is - they were deleted from every account that had the item in the wardrobe at the time of the incident.

There are several items that are showing as missing from my wardrobe on that page, but it's because I never had those items in the first place, and I know I didn't. So I'm not going to bother submitting reports for them.

However, if there are items on that page that you think you may have had but are not 100% sure if you did or not, you are allowed to file a report about it. They're not going to punish people for getting extra items if they're not sure they had it or not since it was their mistake in the first place.

[edit]Also, thank you again staff for working to fix this! And thanks to the other users who compiled lists of missing items to check against as well!

Because I saw the Zombiecrossing boots on the deleted list, I decided to check all my Subeautique items (via the earned achievements, that's the only items I can be sure I should still have). Luckily I did, because I found 3 items I have the achievements for, but don't have the items anymore (and I would never remove any subeautique ones). Still rather mad about this. 10+ years of oldoldold items and Cash Shop (not CW) items.

Filed an extra report for missing:

  • Hazel Jailbird Pants
  • Pinstripe Bill Self-Centered Gas Mask
  • Zodiak Fantasy Wings

<p>I greatly appreciate what y&;all&;re doing in the wake of this, but user trust has plummeted especially with how the communication on these problems was handled. First: Yes. We have been taking the feedback around communication and have put into place multiple changes (the change log for further updates, a new change log for wardrobe changes and a million internal changes to make it easier for us to action on user feedback faster). Making a news post is something we already felt we absolutely had to do with this information, for this reason. We all agree there is work to do here, and we want to do it.

Second: I want to take this opportunity to just say that this post does not meet our community guidelines. I don't want to call you out personally, but last time I posted something mentioning that the community guidelines weren't being met we got a number of tickets from others in the thread worried it was them.

I understand being frustrated, upset and angry. Your items are gone, some of which you paid actual money for. However, communication is a two way road and requires that you assume best intentions when interacting with us, because we are obviously not doing these things on purpose. You can hold our feet to the fire, but when you take this particular tone, we've broken the guidelines. I'm going to start giving people temporary bans in this forum and the feedback forum for posts that break the guidelines, those are the rules and we've been trying to let people vent and voice frustrations. I made this mistake and we are all taking steps to get us in a better place as quickly as we can, and hopefully you can keep that in mind when responding and interacting with staff who were put in this situation because of that.

We could have dragged this along for two months as we attempted to get every single piece of data that we could to recreate that table. It would have been possible with that being the only project we worked on, pulling data and organizing it from every single server log, access log, etc. Instead, we moved as quickly as possible, allowing users to make claims on items that they may not have had, and we're just mostly trusting that those are accurate reports. We could have said no items for reports that we couldn't verify, but we are removing red tape to get this resolved as quickly and painlessly for you as possible - even if it means we send out trillions of sP / CSC in items that were never actually real.

Its my job to protect the mental health of my team who are working on this in particular, and those working on completely unrelated things. Forum posts that are critical and hold our feet to the feet get spirited internal conversations and moved into our task management system to address, posts that are purposefully mean do not get that same level of internal discussion.

THIRD: Shout out to everyone on this thread. You all jumped into action, made spreadsheets that others could add to, and informed our ability to try to make this as simple for everyone as possible. It really made it much easier for us and I really, really appreciate it (and know others on the team do as well)

thanks for the list! There are a bunch of things on it that I didn't even realise were missing.

I am super tripping about because I needed it for Masquerade. I borrowed the copy in my pet Nilaqa's TC to wear for one day, then put it back in her TC. I'm worried that'll count against me...

This seems especially tone-deaf. It's one thing to enforce the community guidelines to prevent users from harassing other users, but using it to squelch site criticism comes across as heavy-handed and indifferent.

The indifference is magnified by the boilerplate language of the next paragraph. "I understand ... your items are gone." There was nothing in that post complaining of missing items; it was a complaint about how the staff communicates with users, consistent with other complaints found in Roadkill's recent posts .

Saying you understand and immediately demonstrating that you didn't understand -- oh, friend, it's SO not a good look.

I understood the point, and addressed it the first paragraph with the concrete actions that we are looking to take to address the feedback in addition to an upcoming news post, which was the request from the post itself.

The community guidelines exist and will be enforced.

sigh I should have expected that kind of response.

I'll try again with an analogy: A large city has four people with the power to enforce the city's littering ban. Three of them respond to calls that come in through the switchboard, but the fourth one just walks up and down his own street patrolling for litter. The net result is that the littering ban is enforced unevenly -- one street is exceptionally well-patrolled compared to the rest of the city.

I see you as this fourth enforcer: you don't have the time to read every post in the city, just the posts in the threads which pertain to you. You don't normally respond to tickets, I presume. So when you take it to enforce the community guidelines sua sponte, the result is that most topics receive enforcement only after a user has reported a post and a staff member has had time to investigate, but topics in which Keith participates receive lightning quick and immediate enforcement, because Keith can (and in his own words, "will") enforce the community guidelines himself.

You are creating a chilling environment because posts in threads you read go through an accelerated version of the due process that posts in other threads go through.
