Anybody got any advice for Red Diablonoid?

Since Moros is done & the battles aren't lagging anymore, I've been catching up on beating all the Blakes & Legendary Beasts. And RD is the only one giving me trouble...lots of trouble. I don't even have 1 win yet. I destroyed the equally as hard Shi Long with no trouble so...it's probably my set. I had no issues with any of the other beasts or Blake.

So anybody got set/scroll advice for the dumb red plant? Thanks in advance. Oh Pet's a Tier 12 for reference.

29/30 tonight... Biting Cake kicked Holly's butt.

RD is a pain - stealing is disabled, it has a blessing that prevents freezing, multiple ways to boost its stats, and a curse that disables your scrolls. It can also freeze you. And it has multiple copies of each, so blasting doesn't help. It's much harder than its stats would suggest.

It does a lot of earth so one of your constants should be OHS. The next most common icon looks like physical which would be The Ether, but you could also try Cronus for the stat boosts, or Natasha for the bullets, or Blessed Trident for the blessing.

The rest of your set (and your scrolls) should be a lot of healing and blocking, and the Volatile Energized Mecha for a stat boost. This is an endurance match if you don't have the stats to just smash it. Bombs can help as well. Potion of the Robot is a nice option if you haven't picked it up from the battle shop, it's an okay-ish bomb and also a strength boost. And don't forget your pylonics - Negating is a one-use full block, Regenerating is a one-use strength and defence boost.

I don't know how often the anti-freeze blessing procs, you could also try the standard 'open with a freezer and then pile on the Shrieks and hope it dies before you run out' method, but usually you only get one turn out of that and then you're stuck with a lot of essentially useless scrolls.

(I beat him with my capped pet, he didn't have a chance to do anything. Next pet down is only a little way into tier 12 and can't beat him yet.)

the MW is also good on challengers that shift their defensive icons around, since it is variable it can hit them in their soft spot if their icons do not match the icons it happens to be doing.
