And... Round 6 is over! And week 3 is starting.

So many different toys and great stories... I'll choose as the winner, for reminding me of that post office toy I also has (well a simmilar one). Funny how we played with things we try to avoid now :p prize :

Trivia's winner is -again (out of 27), who gets The answer was lasagna (and spaghetti, but really lasagna was the obvious answer!)

The winning jokes : Knock knock. Who's there? Doctor. Doctor Who? - Argon walks into a bar. The bartender says "We don't serve noble gases here" Argon doesn't react - What did the turkey say to the computer? "Google, google, google." - Farting in a lift is wrong on so many levels! - What do you call wood when it’s scared? Petrified! -

ROUND 7 : Forum - Share a fun/interesting historical fact. or any other collection from here (and a participation prize for everyone of course!)

Trivia - Why are flamingos pink? to win Trade Lot

Grab Bags Just offer on one of the trades with a joke (any kind). Trade Lot - Trade Lot - Trade Lot - Trade Lot - Trade Lot You can enter as many trades as you want, as long as you try a different joke each time. The best joke gets the trade. You can recycle last round jokes as long as they didn't win.

Some of the cool stuff that was given away this round

The Olympics Used to Award Medals for Art

From 1912 to 1948, the Olympic Games held competitions in the fine arts. Medals were given for literature, architecture, sculpture, painting, and music. Naturally, the art created was required to be Olympic-themed. According to the founder of the modern Olympics, Pierre de Frédy, the addition of the arts was necessary because the ancient Greeks used to hold art festivals alongside the games. Before the art events were eventually removed, 151 medals were awarded.

On a personal note I find that this not being the case still is kinda sad. I think art should be an Olympic category again. I think its just as important as physical sports. But that is just my opinion.

Forks, the widely used eating utensils, were once seen as blasphemous. They were first introduced in Italy in the 11th Century. These spiked spaghetti-twirling instruments were seen as an offense to God. And why, do you ask? Because they were "artificial hands" and as such was considered to be sacrilegious.

Did you know that Aaron Burr (the man who shot Alexander Hamilton) tried to get a bust made of his head once, but the cast they put around his face to get the shape somehow reacted with his skin and dyed his nose purple for several days. This made him so angry that when the bust was done he immediately shattered it.

, Napoleon was once attacked by a horde of rabbits. Apparently he went on a planned rabbit hunt, but got charged at by 3000 floppy eared critters. "It's got big pointy teeth!"

Wyoming refused to join the United States without a guarantee that women would be allowed to vote. In 1869, the territory of Wyoming made history when it passed a law granting women aged twenty-one and older the right to vote. That law was threatened two decades later when Wyoming applied for statehood. Congress stated that it wouldn’t allow the territory to join the union unless women were disenfranchised. Wyoming called Congress out on its bluff, replying via telegram, “We will remain out of the Union one hundred years rather than come in without the women.” Congress relented and Wyoming became a state in 1890, with women’s right to vote intact. True to its past, Wyoming’s state motto today is simply, “Equal Rights.” SOURCE

In the ancient middle east, special carts were invented specifically to carry the long, fat tails of sheep, so that they would not drag on the ground.

pics
It was done because the tail weighed quite a bit and it preserved the wool simultaneously.

I got one! It's really weird but it's true. In 19th century Paris an occultist came up with a snail telegram. The idea was that once they mated, snails would form a psychic bond and these snails plus some letters could be used to transmit messages. Of course, this occultist bailed when a more rigorous trial was set for the experiment. Someone even wrote a whole article about it (warning: mentions snails being harmed) and I fell into a rabbit hole researching this. It's a really weird idea for someone to have to begin with!
