Spinach, mozzarella, and a boiled egg! .. And three biscoff cookies.
What did you add to your oatmeal? I looove oatmeal cookies, but eating oatmeal itself feels like a chore to me unless there is a bunch of maple syrup or berries!
I added a Dashi to oatmeal today! But I think Dashi is Japanese culture... Do you know Dashi? Dashi is a traditional Japanese seasoning which is made from bonito. You might be surprised to know, my oatmeal is not sweet taste ! It's salty. I like this taste oatmeal , but I want to try cooking oatmeal added honey.
- I do, yes! I have a bit of a seafood sensitivity, and it gives me an itchy reaction, haha. That's how I discovered that some dashi is made with bonito/tuna, but I heard some is vegan - have you tried that? How is the dashi with oatmeal? It sounds pretty unique!!
Here, I usually use milk (mostly almond) as the base!
Lyle's Golden Syrup is delicious on oatmeal. I make mine with water and milk, then top it with the treacle syrup and cinnamon. I like adding banana slices, raisins, dried cranberries, nuts, and/or seeds too.
The idea of savory oatmeal is really interesting. I bet I’d like it because I like jook/congee.
The last thing I ate was pasta with corn, bacon, and parmesan.

Oh, be careful of allergies. I'm not vegan , but I like bonito dashi. Dashi is japanese popular seasoning, so I think every families lived in Japan have Dashi in their kitchen. Almost of these are made by bonito or kelp.
I love oatmeal with dashi ! I've eaten it every moning since I've eaten oatmeal first time !
I like congee too! So I suppose to you like it. And I'd like to try to make your oatmeal recipe.

I just had the tiniest little apple from my garden, the first ones are the best :D
That sweet oatmeal recipe sounds absolutely wonderful! I've not personally had treacle (or molasses), but I will see about buying a small container this week and giving it a shot. Thank you for that inspo!
Were you able to try out a sweet recipe with your oatmeal, Naco? I think I'll also try some sort of more savory recipe, too. Maybe not dashi for me, but a broth of some sort!
the last two little squares of shortbread ;n; i'll have to bake some more!

It was my first time trying the treacle because I saw the Lyle’s Golden Syrup at the store and had to buy it! It’s a nice change from brown sugar or maple syrup, which I also enjoy on oatmeal.
The last thing I ate was my lunch. Leftover rice topped with Korean seaweed crumbles and a dollop of Kewpie, a Greek chicken cutlet, kimchi, and anchovy peanut banchan.
