only to 35, if he drops amulets or weak crystals after that I don't really care - the crystals aren't very useful and I have such bad luck with amulets I don't want to bother grinding just to get a shard. There's no unique scroll piece in the item directory either.
I think Very Hard opponents drop Brilliant Crystals at 50+.
Right. I'm interested in both amulets and tomes at the moment, cause I am hoarding both...I don't have a huge amount of either at the moment
I ended my Careaperer day with finishing 20 wins on a first string pet and getting five wins on seven third string pets. Too bad I was exhausted from work so didn't get more third string wins. Oh well, it comes back soon and lots of new Lucky scrolls for win grinding in the meantime.
Shoot, why did Careaper have to come out the same day as Borderlands 3? T_T
I only had time to get my main pet to 10 wins and Longshot to 5 wins. And apparently I forgot the bathhouse yesterday too. Phooey.

I think I’ve narrowed down the requirement for Carl to three food items with water in the name in your inventory and then doing a quest for him.
Don’t worry, he’ll be back in December :D Did you see the new trailer for the Kingdom Hearts 3 DLC? I can’t wait!
BQs and Carl are done! I've been slacking so much lately, but I'm trying to be better about at least BQs.
Yeah, I'm glad it's not a year-long wait again, maybe in December I'll have a little more time. And I did, but I have no idea what's going on lol
I'll probably have to watch someone else play it on Youtube though. I actually was so disappointed in the game that after I got my platinum I traded it in.
SPOILER (click to toggle)
Thanks! Yeah, I also just got him this morning with exactly 3 water items, so pretty sure that's it. 1 and 2 items didn't work lol.
I'll update the challenger guide soon. :)
Morning All. Just curious, how many items are in everyone's armory?
[flower=gifts4friends]
Actually, 's list is accurate! V Hard and above opponents don't drop amulets at all so don't bother beating him more unless you want the brilliant crystals~

I tried to unlock him with 5x
Someone else in the news post said that worked, but it didn't work for me. Then I remembered I had some alcohol items in my inventory, so I put them in my shop and tried again. It still didn't work.
So then I got 2x and it worked. The bottles of water were still in my inventory. Just fyi, I think you might have to have 2+ different kinds of water??
SPOILER (click to toggle)
I used 3x so I don’t think you have to use two different kinds. I wonder why it worked for Jensen and not for you.
Oh, do you mean you had no idea what was going on story-wise? It's so complex I had to watch the cutscenes from the other games before playing it (which recommended doing). I played 1 and 2 when I was younger, but I didn't realize the other games were important to the plot too, I thought they were spinoffs :P
The DLC looks like bonus cutscenes to flesh out some plot stuff, two additional keyblades/forms, and some more boss battles, all of which I'm excited for. I'm sad you traded it in before the critical mode came out though, it was so difficult and fun, it made replaying the game a real challenge.
SPOILER (click to toggle)
Are we sure they didn't have some other items from the Inn in their inventory or something? Because yeah, I used 3x the bilge water and that worked for me, so it can be multiples of the same item. Just maybe there's more specificity regarding which items work. Hmm...
SPOILER (click to toggle)
Yikes no idea either then. And I did try two times with those bottled waters. Maybe I just had a weird glitch then... Did you happen to have anything else in your inventory with "water" in it? Like mage amulets or dark potions?
Also just to inform everyone, I had a weird dream last night that the cap was increased. By 585 points. Which is... Oddly specific and makes no sense. 😆
[Edit]
I'm wondering if it's more items with the word water in it? Like if you look at what I posted to Jess, was it possible you had amulets/tomes/dark potions/shards of the water variety? We could ask Jensen too :P Or maybe I did have a glitch!
I know (sorta) the whole story, but I don't get what's going on in the DLC. I watched some videos to catch up on the other games, but I've never played anything but 1, 2, CoM and the DS one.
I did just see that the PS store is having a sale and there's a KH bundle with everything (KH 1.5, 2.5, and 3) all for 50 bucks and that's reaaaallly tempting me, so I might end up playing it after all. I was mostly disappointed that the game was 90% disney and then at the very end all the actual KH stuff just felt shoehorned in. If this is actual KH plot and no disney fluff then I might just buy it again.

If you look at 's comment in the news, she used a variety of different water items, but the one that stuck out to me was 5x Shinwas Blessed Water. That and 's comment led me to assume any item with 'water' could work.
Nope, I just had those three, plus my locked Lizard Minion Trap and Infinity Berry :P
SPOILER (click to toggle)
Okay now I'm just more confused about why the bottles didn't work for me twice then pffffft
I guess we chock it up to a glitch?
Maybe add the note to try more than one item with the word water if it doesn't work the first time? Since that's what I did 😆
Yeah, they're really cheap now compared to earlier this year. I would certainly buy The Story So Far + KH3 if you can find a bundle that cheap.
For the DLC, it definitely appears to be solely more KH plot related stuff to flesh out some of the questions that came up during the game. And you can play as other characters during the boss battles at the end. They also appear to have new character combo moves for those battles as well, which is cool.
I'm most excited for Oathkeeper and Oblivion though. Oathkeeper was my favorite keyblade as a kid and it looks badass in HD with that new form outfit :P Oblivion's form looks very cool as well. I think you need to have collected all of the Mickey emblems for Oathkeeper and beaten critical mode for Oblivion, because you now get 'proofs' for completing those two things after the game update last April.
Is a great lower level guide that gives you plenty of good (and less expensive) options at various tiers. You don't have to have everything before you hit the next tier and can often make do without upgrading everything. Gorgun is a 100% freezer, so that doesn't need to upgraded right away. I think I used it with my first battle pet until T7. PQ is a long-term staple -- so you already have a healer to use the rest of your battling career. I agree with that blasters are perhaps your next priority weapons-wise. Also, don't neglect AP and scrolls -- like you'd have any funds leftover now anyway. LOL Welcome to the world of battling -- a.k.a. Chapter 13: Bankruptcy.
late to the party but re carl/
SPOILER (click to toggle)
i only had the 5x bottled rain waters, i figured i'd try them since i beat up tide for cheap heals and had a bunch in my shop as a result!
i cleared my inventory before trying to unlock carl again, and when i checked afterwards the only other things in my inventory were Lizard Minion Trap (locked) Lizard Minion Repellent (locked) Black Soft Lenses (locked) and Fake Kumos Tail (which i think was the reward from carl?)
so i don't know why the bottled water didn't work a second time, it feels like it ought to if it's not restricted to rathskeller inn's stuff!
@ Velociraptor ty re: careaper win :> i'm pretty sure that one gave me some gray hairs LOL
Thanks for the info! The PQ is without a doubt the handiest thing in my armory at the moment. I think the Soma Tablets will be my first big splurge down the line, but I'm going to see how I get along without them for now. Unless I keep getting stuck in BQs thanks to Maybel, in which case I may fly into a fit of rage and start throwing sp at the problem.
I have 53 AP and I'm barely using any of it. Mostly just relying on the LoSS (yay for tattered scroll pieces!) and a Cobalt Eternal at the moment. I'm hoping I can get by on mostly making/winning better scrolls in the future. Because the price tags on the commonly recommended scrolls give me the heebie jeebies. (But again, Maybel is really getting on my nerves so we'll see . . . haha)
