The first thing I bought was an 'color appropriate' outfit to surprise my husband. LOL I wish I'd bought diapers and bottles.

I would buy the baby a set of onesies so it can be easy to change the baby out of, especially when they spit up.

So exciting! I would buy a plush toy, something big and soft to pour your love into, a guardian for your little one :-D

First baby item... a plush toy. I had a big thing for plush toys when I was a kid... they became my friends and I would do everything with my favourite ones. I still sleep with one.

The first baby item bought for my daughter was a board book titled First 100 Words. Books are always a good idea.

Hum, I would want so many things for sure. But the first thing I bought for my first niece was a bedding set. If I was to have a baby I will probably go look and see what catches my eye to create a theme for the baby's room. Perhaps one item can inspire me, and buy that item, hopefully clothes but can be other things as well. There are so many baby things

I think the very first thing I would buy would be the perfect outfit for taking the baby home in. I think baby clothes are the cutest thing ever, and I generally love clothing. So, finding the perfect outfit would be exciting for me. I looked at some baby clothes quick, but there's so much it's hard to pick one! Maybe a dinosaur print, or something striped.

I would probably buy something completely unnecessary, like this onesie to give to my hubby to let him know we were expecting :P

A keepsake.

You’re going to get tons of gifts, especially if you have a baby shower and registry. Friends and family are typically generous about babies regardless. You’ll have so many little outfits. Some of my friends never needed to shop for baby clothes and literally had more than what they knew what to do with.

My bf is his niece’s godfather. We gave her a silver spoon with a cow jumping over the moon design for a christening present. I’d buy something sentimental like that.

Or a really cute swaddle. Aden + Anais and Nordstrom Baby make great ones.

You can start with nursery furniture if the sex of the baby won’t have an impact on its theme, on a more practical note.

Glad you are feeling better! I am not sure what I would buy first. I used to have this recurring dream that I was about to pop and I hadn't bought ANYTHING! So I would think - what cannot even wait a day? Onesies, diapers, food, carseat STAT!

Hmm, I think a lovely soft toy. I still have and treasure some of the toys I was given as a baby. I also have my own cute little cutlery set that I adore. x)

That’s a hard one. I would probably buy a cute Disney plushie because I always loved stuffed animals as a kid and they have such cute ones. Something practical would be the crib first.

I will second the rocking chair. My Godmother bought me a rocking chair, it was the best. It was so comfy to relax in during my pregnancies and perfect for feeding and settling my babies ?

I am so happy for you! My husband and I have been talking about having a baby in the next couple years :) I wish you an easy pregnancy and healthy baby. Seeing the baby today is going to be so amazing! I can only imagine.

The first thing I would buy I think would be baby blankets. I love blankets and I would want by baby to have an abundance to be snuggled in :)

I think the first thing I would buy is a rocking chair- I remember my mom having one when we were little, and when I was older and babysitting babies, being able to rock them to sleep in a rocking chair was always so nice. I would definitely want one for my baby's room! :)
