Seriously, I like how many different styles there are on Subeta. I mean, if you want to be one of the cool kids, you can def study what gets the likes, but you can also become one of the cool kids by doing things others don't think to do.

I woke up this morning before 6 am after maybe 4 hours of sleep (probably a bit less). Then I managed to get another hour or so after chatting on my phone for a couple hours with a person who had just read my most recently completed story (a star wars fanfic) and was checking it over (she liked it!)

It will be my 4th star wars fanfic. I'm considering some revisions but hoping I don't have to do them...

Anyway..... I also wrote two very short stories over this weekend for a story exchange I ran. One is a sad vampire story and the other is a humorous story of a hat shop owner and some customers and an apprentice witch. The vampire story is original and the hat shop is loosely set in the town of Market Chipping where the early parts of the book and movie of Howl's Moving Castle take place. (Book by Diana Wynne Jones, movie by Hayao Miyazaki, both favorites of mine)

Jogoh and Som sometimes hit the clothing styles that exist in my head and in the lore of my game/storywriting world right on the head really hard, and I've been using their new items lots in the past few weeks, but if I'm gonna do different coloured/styled versions of the same pieces, I need to vary the characters I put them on, so Valiska Courinna has worn the plum, Dhara Verenke (my WS character) has worn the green, and Teleny's wearing the blue.

Also I put the cattes in sandals a lot because I think wearing closed-toed shoes would be hard on their claws and their claws would be hard on the shoes, so normally the feline characters wear either boots that are designed for wear when open toes would be dangerous, OR sandals, but not sandals that are flat because that would mean they'd have to be in a plantigrade stance all the time, and they'd hate that.

Since half my game players are on subeta, when the game starts back up I may actually use my ping group for something other than notes to myself and post threads about how to dress like a Talassani--the cattes--or a Cereuti--the blue people I do a lot.

I also really want to do threads on makeup for dark-skinned and fantasy-skinned avatars and on which items on Subeta are actually things that real lolita fashionistas would wear as opposed to cosplays for animes that don't exist but should, actual anime tributes, and things that are actually more appropriate for a different Japanese street fashion style but are called "lolita" because people think all frilly clothes from Japan are lolita clothes.

The other day on Ale's discord I realised after someone asked for SP makeup suggestions, most people had 1-2 items they used a lot, whereas I, who usually use bases 4+, use mostly SP makeups except for eyeshadows/mascaras/eyebrow items, because many CW makeups look silly on any base darker than 3.

Also, lolitas don't usually wear huge bustles with short dresses. That's anime.

IRL, that would be a ginormous b*tch to deal with on the trains, which are how Japanese people who don't have transformation wands or access to friends with giant robot suits generally go everywhere within and between cities. :)

Yeah i saw you mention that on the discord. I have like 5 blushes I use all the time but I also rarely change my base. Though I have been doing a few blue has lately and I like using the full body dolls with a blush under them to give a different layering blush affect. Its neat to mess around in wardrobe like that sometimes.

Youthful Indiscretions 😆 I used to be the queen of Youthful Indiscretions myself! So to expand on the "sleep" mantra - I almost do a meditation on the word too. Just see it in my head and keep chanting it and seeing it. My mind tries it's hardest to ponder other stuff and I just keep ignoring it as best as possible. It does seem to help - as silly as it sounds. And it is a form of meditation. I think. :-P

It killed me to not give it eyebrows so yep it's on purpose cause she (my current HA) plucked them all out. LOL! You know those stories we make up for our HA's...
