Friday morning the students lined up to take the portkey to the beach. What beach it was, no one was quite sure, but it was a private beach with anti-muggle spells so the kids were allowed to do magic whilst out. They had two chaperones. Professor Aimee Torres
and Carlisle Caswell
When everyone arrived the beach looked very inviting.

There were plenty of beach balls, a volley ball net, surfboards, lounging chairs, shade and even a souvenir shop.
There was even a buffet for them with drinks and foods galore, which was free for them and even had yummy cold foods like Ice lollies and ice cream.

((OOC: sorry for the delay, Migraines :/))
Zoe was very excited about the beach trip and she needed some down time as she was developing a nervous tick. She scanned the area and was quite please at what she saw. This was going to be a good day.
Magnus was thrilled to let go and play. He looked for his friends as he decided what to do first. The boy spelled his back to hide his scars from the werewolf attack.
Blade on the other hand was nervous. He wasn't exactly fitting in well at his new school. The boy was hesitant at best to mingle since things hadn't gone well in the last several interactions he's had.
Niamh looked around to see who was about, and was distracted by the sight of Blade's toned muscles. Realising she was staring just a little she blushed and looked away, staring out to sea for a moment.
Paddy felt a little uncomfortable, having never actually been to a beach before. She stood curling her toes into the sand as she looked around, trying to take everything in.

((OOC: are pets allowed on this trip? Jona would love to bring Duncan))
Jona and Sauvage were walking together up the beach. A lot had happened in the last few days and Jona wanted to consult the advice of his prefect. They both looked up to see some students already lounging about. Sauvage stopped where she was and waved, not sure who (and if) she should approach any of them. Magnus was more Fade's friend. Zoe was Jona's. And Blade...did not seem to like her much. Instead of treading potential social turmoil, she chose to turn towards the food bar and take her time grabbing snacks.
Jona immediately headed for Zoe, but halfway through hesitated. He looked over his shoulder at Magnus, recalling the words the boy had said at breakfast the other day. Jona really had never thought of Zoe that way before and he was pretty sure that his feelings for her weren't romantic ones. But it felt like Magnus had implanted new thoughts into his head that he couldn't not think of now. Jona groaned in frustration and tried to shake the confusion he was feeling off. Closing the distance left between them, Jona waved at Zoe and smiled happily. "Hey pretty lady! Feel like I haven't seen ya in forever."

"Cute suit, Zoe!" Callista said, grinning and waving. "From one of your modelling gigs? We haven't had much time to talk, you have to tell me all about it! Is Hollynd around, did she come? I know she'd love to hear about this. And Toru-chan too I bet."
While she was frilly as ever, she'd abandoned the pure lolita look in favour of a more beach-friendly style. And her Crinus Muto was on point today, as she had put her hair in cornrows. She'd had it done the non-magical way exactly once, at which time she'd discovered that she simply did not have the patience to sit quietly for the length of time it took to braid all of her hair.
"By the way, this suit is blue and gold, not blue and bronze, so don't get any ideas about me wearing your House's colours! I can't wear green all the time, there are too many other great colours!"
Sabrina was headed for the buffet, and Callista followed, grabbing some sushi and a big slushy pink mocktail for herself and a skewer of fairly sauce-free meat for the serval kitten before she got the idea to jump up and take what she wanted.

Toru looked wayyyyyyy too excited to be on the beach. Though their family occasionally did visit tropical beaches for holiday, it had been years. The salty air filled their lungs and they had an excited twinkle in their eye. It was a treat that they could leave the castle since they still weren't even allowed to visit Hogsmeade on weekends, but here they were at the beach! Their hair was pulled up into a high ponytail with a black ribbon to keep it in place, and a ruffly white top that matched the ocean foam splashing up onto the wet sand. They had packed their wet suit as they would most likely be diving later, but for now they were going to enjoy the warm temperature with their friends. Perhaps they could all collect some shells?
They waved a bit at Magnus and Zoe and also at Sauvage and Jona (and at Callie), but they kind of stayed beside Blade. "D-Do you want t-to hang w-with everyone today o-or wait for Niamh?" Toru had picked up that Blade and the Gryffindor got along better that most, but Toru had been trying to make Blade feel included in their small (but growing) circle of friends. The younger Hufflepuff, really didn't glance at him too much though without their cheeks going bright pink. Though they weren't particularly attracted to Blade, they were very flushed with how toned he was. Toru could appreciate art after all.

"Toru-chan you look sooo cute!" Callista called out, giggling. "I'm trying to get Zoe to tell us about her summer. Who's your friend?"
Callista was definitely far more interested in Wayland Hayes, but she wasn't blind, and anyhow, she'd learned from watching her older sisters that it didn't do to make any boy think of you as a sure thing. Until she knew for sure that Wayland was interested and had the gumption to ask her on a real date some Hogsmeade weekend, she wasn't going to show all of her cards.

Toru face blushed brightly at Callista's comments on their outfit. It was a little out of their comfort zone since most of their skin was showing and the black and golden flecks could be seen down their arms and back. It wasn't particularly normal-looking birth marks and was worried their lineage might get brought up. They moved a hand to Blade and gave Callie a bright smile. "T-This is B-Blade... H-He's in Hufflepuff too." Toru slipped into their first language (Japanese) still gesturing at Blade. "I-I like your outfit!"
They were fine and well until they spotted Callie's serval kitten and began going white. Toru moved a bit to the other side of Blade but starting to panic a little.
[edit] Edited to English just spoken in Japanese because of Subeta's forum rules... =A=

"Toru...are you ok?" Callista, still speaking Japanese, chewed on her lip for a moment, then saw where Toru was looking and picked up Sabrina, who made an aggrieved noise and then jumped up on her shoulder after stealing the fish off a piece of Callista's sushi.
"Sabrina's a kitten," she said in Japanese, "and I swear she won't hurt you."

English only guys. I'm afraid its part of subeta's forum rules. You can however say it in English but then add it was actually said in Japanese

The first thing that struck Elizabeth were the intense rays of the sun and she was glad she had brought her hat along. And for her sandals as the sand was probably hot due to the sun. Her eyes needed some time to adjust to the bright beach before looking around. She noticed her friend Callista () first - her amazing outfit reminded Elizabeth a bit of Queen Cleopatra of Egypt - and wondered why the girl she spoke with () seemed so afraid suddenly. They seemed to know each other quite well. She didn't want to interrupt their talk though and looked around, her eyes stopping at the buffet where Sauvage() was standing. It wouldn't hurt to go there and take a look. Maybe they had ice pops. While making her way over there, she slightly wandered off to Paddy(). "Hello!" Elizabeth began friendly, "do you want to check out the beach buffet?"
Lorcan looked around as they arrived. It was a nice view, but he barely knew anyone here. As he spend most of his life on a small island, he didn't interact with people much. Probably because he always wondered if he was awkward around people or they were just not getting him. He shrugged slightly with his shoulders in regard to his own concerns and his eyes wandered up to the sky. It was a nice and promising day and taking a break from his studies would be nice.
"Yass!" This exclaimed. "This is exactly what I wanted for my birthday!" She was so happy to be on the beach, she didn't even pay mind to her portkey sickness.
"Sauvage, () would mind applying sunblock to my back? Being half German and half British, I tend to burst into flames when I'm in the sun too long." she said in giddy tone as she handed the bottle of sunblock to her friend.
"Once the sunblock sets in, I'm going for a swim. Anyone else in for a dip?" she asked the group that was starting to come together
She turned and saw the food table. "There's even a buffet? Even better! This is shaping up to be an awesome birthday." she exclaming. "Too bad Emmett isn't here..." she mumbled to herself
((pets are fine. Just don’t let ‘em get eaten or anything.))
Blade wasn’t aware that he was being stared at, but he did notice Niamh in a cute purple bikini. She looked pretty. Hogwarts had a lot of pretty girls and that was one thing he was pleased about.
“’Ey Paddy!” Magnus said. “Wanna go swim or play with the sand? I got a bucket and spade with me.” He smiled spotting Sauvage and Jona a distance away. “’Ey guys!”
“Ey Joan, Duncan!” Zoe said. She petted the pooch. “Aye, I’ve been studying a lot.” The girl frowned. “I need to relax.” She smiled brightly. “Will ye help me get the sunscreen on me back? Its much harder to reach. How are ye?”
Zoe smiled when Callista complimented her suit. “Why thank ye. Aye, it is.” She blushed. “It was fun but strange to have so many people look at me. Mum and Dad were thrilled. As was my uncle, though he wants me to go into a career in music. Still he was the one that arranged for us to go to the shows. Uncle is well connected. I’ve nee seen her no.” Then the girl giggled and teased lightly, “I like yer look and ye might try to pretend but secretly I know ye wanna be a Ravenclaw. Seriously though, nothing wrong with using other colours. Like ye said there too many to be stuck with just yer house colours.”
Blade was surprised to be addressed by Toru. He noticed the blush, but the younger Hufflepuff was shy. “Uh…” he started to reply when another pretty girl approached.
Zoe blushed again. “Went around Paris,” she said shyly.
“I’m Blade Edwards. Transfer from Home school,” Blade replied even though Toru did also introduce him. He gave a head nod towards her. “You’re not in Hufflepuff, or if you are, I should check my eyesight.” When Toru saw the cat and hid behind him, Blade couldn’t help but issue a slight chuckle. He was fairly certain he wouldn’t have been chosen to hide behind if there was someone else. “It’s okay, Toru,” Blade said in a quiet, calm voice. “We won’t let the cat hurt you.” Rather bold given he didn’t know the other girl but she didn’t appear to want Toru hurt or scared.
“I’m going to swim,” Zoe said softly to Millie.
Magnus was waiting to see what Paddy wanted to do. Blade figured Millie wasn't really asking him. He looked at the other kids he didn't know. A boy with a hesitant look in his face and a girl who looked cute in a floppy black hat and green swimsuit.
Toru nodded slowly but still kind of kept an eye on the puffy spotted kitten. Everyone at Hogwarts seemed to be surprised when they found out their fear of cats. They did have their reasons though. It was nice to know that everyone seemed supportive to try and overcome this fear, but it was gonna take probably all 7 years at Hogwarts to get over their phobia... if ever.
They switched back to English since they didn't want to be rude to Blade. "I-I know. I-I just... D-Don't like them..." They heard Blade chuckle slightly and gave him a momentary glance, unsure if he was teasing them because of their fear again or if it was something else.
"Sorry just was amused because I think I'm the last person you would like to be standing here keeping you away from the cat," Blade said.

Lenore looked around the beach that the portkey had brought them to. Merlin, it felt good to be outside! Even if she wasn't partial to the sun, at least this was freedom of a sort. For all her talk of sneaking out after curfew, the girl hadn't actually done it...yet.
Finding a place to watch the frolicking, Lenore laid out a white and gold towel and pointed her wand at a small bundle, which unfolded itself into an elegant octagon sunshade with billowing white sheer curtains. Satisfied, she dropped her bag inside and made her way to the snack table.
On her way she noticed Callie () and smiled. "Love your hair, it suites you!"
Jona () and Zoe () had met up already of course, those two were inseparable. Paddy (), a werewolf girl Lenore barely knew looked to be in a bit of shock.
Farther off, the Hufflepuff girl () who Callie had helped in transfiguration was standing next to boy with long red hair and a muscular build. Several of the girls seemed to be staring bashfully but if Lenore remembered correctly, the boy was three years younger than herself.
Looking around for a more suitable subject, Lenore was disappointed to find that there were no boys her own age around. What good was the beach without some flirting? She sighed. Perhaps Zak () would be about later. She knew she didn't really have a chance with the boy but that was fine with her. She just liked to have fun and be a tease. She wondered if he would mind?
Before she could finish wondering, Liz () arrived and Lenore gave a small wave and a big smile. Arriving at the same time was a boy she hadn't met yet. And he looked closer to her own age! Not sure how he would react, Lenore caught his eye and threw him a wink.

Wayland popped onto the beach with the others and steadied himself. He loved to travel but portkey wasn't his favorite way. There were a decent amount of students here already and he was glad to see Callie (looking wonderful in blue and gold) since he hadn't gotten to finish his conversation with her about possible costumes.
He dropped his pack with his guitar and amp next to a tree and breathed in the fresh air. His memory swam with the thoughts of the beaches he'd been to around the world. Ahh, nothing like a new place.
He was itching to play some music but thought he had better eat first. He had slept in and almost missed the portkey and as such, had had no breakfast. Fortunately, the snack table was loaded with much more than should be classified as 'snacks' and included several lunch options. His stomach growled and he laughed. Today was going to be brilliant!
((OOC: Mewy, Lenore is making assumptions. Feel free to correct her if she calls Toru 'she' :) ))

"It's okay," Callista told Toru. "It's just that since you called me senpai I'm contractually obligated to notice these kinds of things. Sabrina's a baby and the worst thing she would ever do to you is steal your food. Were you bitten or scratched by a cat before?"
She chuckled at Blade's assurance. "You've never met me or my cat before, Blade, and I'm Callista Zabini, by the way. But you're right, I wouldn't let Sabrina hurt anyone. She's a serval. She won't get to be more than 20 kilos anyway. They're not big cats, they're just bigger-than-average cats."
She waved to Liz, grinning, and turned to Zoe. "Ha! I am Slytherin bred and born, but I still want to hear about your exploits. What do you want to do, though? Music, modelling? Something else entirely? To succeed in your ambitions, you've got to know what they are--knowledge alone won't get you there!"
Lenore's compliment also made her smile! "Thanks!"
She didn't fail to notice Wayland's arrival, and smiled at him discreetly. Oh, good. He was going to play later. That was going to be so much fun!
But I thought it would be OK to drop a few phrases almost everyone on the internet knows, because the reason for the rule as I understood it was so that mods would know what you were saying and you couldn't break the rules and post porn or something. I do hope that at least 'kawaii' and 'senpai' are okay especially since the last one does not translate into English well at all and the first one seems different in my mind from 'cute'?
I am trying to make the point that Callista's personality changes a bit when she code-switches, though--she's less reserved and more flamboyant when she knows that only the people she's talking to are likely to understand her, because the girl's terminally cautious when only among other Slytherins.))

Toru puffed their cheeks up at him before turning their gaze back to Callie's cat. "You're j-just fine." Blade wasn't the friendlest Hufflepuff in the Common Room but Toru didn't dislike him. They were actually trying to get to know them better being housemates and all.
They glanced back at Callista. "I-I'm actually doing m-much b-better than u-usual..." by now Toru would have probably run halfway down the beach so perhaps the were...slowly...getting over this cat fear... maybe... Probably not.
[edit] Toru answered Callista. "I-I've never b-been close enough to cat t-to get b-bitten or s-scratched... I-It's a f-family f-fear I guess?" Their mother was also afraid of cats, and it was passed on to her child.
(OOC: Can do, my dude. XD)

((omg so many posts so fast also lol why is everyone asking ME to put sunblock on them XD))
Sauvage smiled at Elizabeth when they made eye contact. She laughed with her friend, who was thoroughly excited to celebrate the day. Looking the sunblock bottle over, she said aloud, "I am ze fortunate one 'oo cannot burn. I do get more freckles, zhough. My maman is Spanish, so I get zee tanning-well characteristic from 'er." She left the buffet, having not actually eaten anything, and found a spot to sit in the sand after taking her outer wear off. "I am ready when you are to put on ze sunblock." She waved Paddy over as well, thinking the girl needed someone to relax with. "Ze color pink looks beautiful on you, Paddy," she complimented.

"Er, uh, sure thing. No problem with that!" Jona awkwardly agreed to help her with applying the sunscreen, while subconsciously tugging his own shirt down further. Duncan could sense the boy's sudden tension and whined, rubbing up against his leg. "Get off, Duncan," he muttered under his breath. To Zoe he said, "So, uh, where are we doing this?"
