I don't know if they can talk older people into going on shows like that as easily... or expect them to act as stupid as they want to get the ratings up? hard to say :)

I didn't drink much or use any drugs either... there doesn't seem to be a point to me. I find acting silly is really fun, but I don't need to use a substance to do it, so I just act silly when I'm around other people who are drunk or high and enjoy it that way ;) (no hangovers this way though you do remember the silly stuff you did, which some might not find good lol)

The audio book is going good so far. I also started reading Why We Lost: A General's Inside Account of the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars. History was my favorite subject in school and I think that's why I tend to gravitate to historical type books.

I think plenty of older (40-50ish) people would be willing to go on Big Brother. I just don't think they are as good eye candy. In the beginning it seemed like they had older people but maybe it's cause I was younger. :-P

My husband doesn't drink but if he's around people that are drinking he acts drunk too. I always thought it weird, but I guess it's not!

I never watched the Big Brother show so I am not sure, I was only speculating.

I used to just never watch reality TV shows, and I still don't enjoy the ones that have one person eliminated after each show - somehow it's upsetting to me when they do that. But I like some of the ones that are more like game shows now or weekly makeover/helping someone apparently, I have been watching a few of those recently, like where they go fix up someone's house or help them with their pet problems or whatever they have, or each person has to cook something fancy or whatever the show is about.

I still kind of prefer fiction shows, but the dramatic artificiality of some of those is becoming wearing over time... I wonder if I just get pickier as I get older!

Truthfully, I hate even admitting to watching Big Brother. And it's probably my favorite show in the world. D'oh!! :-P I too like some of the other shows with the pet problem solvers and the home makeovers.

Maybe the fact that others are drinking and have lost some inhibition allows you to lose some. For the first several years with my hubs he was always buttoned up except when I would drink with friends and it always annoyed me when he started acting goofy. But once our daughter was older he started acting goofy on a regular basis. Example: He would act like he was Mr Bean riding a bicycle when we were in a park or some public place. My daughter would laugh so hard and then I would laugh at her laughing so now he acts goofy all of the time and it no longer bothers me. :-P

I've been on an HA making frenzy and have so many made up!! I liken HA making to playing paper dolls...and I know that you like to make up stories in your head when making an HA and I do that too. :-)

Yay! My first banner ad has shown up :D I made this banner ad for the youtube channel I got addicted to over the last few months, when I watched pregnant cats giving birth and raising their kittens... it was amazing.

I so totally do that, make up stories about my HAs, that is... :D not very elaborate stories, but little silly ones. Speaking of making up stories, I signed up for a fanfiction exchange O.o I have never done one of these but I only have to write 500 words, I'm going to re-read the book it's based on, and while re-reading take notes for my fanfiction and hopefully by the time I'm done reading it I'll have the whole thing thought out. The assignment asked for an interaction between an aunt and nephew, and/or for something about natural history. I'm going to write it about him asking her for help understanding some reading assignment from his tutor about the discovery of lighter than air gases and early hot air balloon and zeppelin type things, at least that's my current plan.

i have never touched drugs or smokes. i never seen any need to drink so i could act just as stupid as them, but i still had my head when i did xD

The only reality show with eliminations that I ever liked was "Ladette to Lady" which was one where they took hard-drinking, tough British girls and put them in finishing school. It was so ridiculous.

But I like shows about animals quite a bit. I was a big fan of "My Cat From Hell" but I haven't seen any new ones in so long that I'm afraid it might have been cancelled.

Dr K's Exotic Pets ER is another great one.

- I never got into drugs as a younger person but I use medical MJ, mostly CBD products but I use a very, very small amount of THC with it in the day time and a bit more at night. It really helps with chronic pain and anxiety. I don't use enough to get really stoned except late at night for insomnia, though, I like having my brain on. In fact I prefer it to Rx sleeping pills because they make me even more stupid and I have to take them earlier to get sleepy on time, so I lose much more of my evening.

Most of my "HAs" (I actually don't care for that term, most of my avatars are not human) represent characters in my writing/roleplaying life or characters I like from shows/books. (Sometimes they are the same characters but I have a lot of OCs.) So most of them all have stories about them.

And making up new ones is a fun way to make up NPCs. I make an avatar using things that look cool and then I'm all like, well who IS this person?

Haha I smoked pot until I was old enough to drink. But I never did the really scary stuff, but almost all of my friends did and my childhood bff become an addict. It was sad as she just disappeared for about 15 years while she was using.
