I feel like I had my real name up before and now I'm confused. I don't know when or why I changed it. My name might not be hard to guess at this point though.
Ale ?
... no, wait! Ealleae!
Funny you should say that! I actually once wrote 'Ale' on an assignment when I was in like, Grade 2 or 3. I don't know how I forgot to finish my name and even my teacher was confused for a minute.
since you said the v isn't in your name i am gonna guess Lea
I knew it. You're Welsh. Your name is Aled.

There is an extra letter - it can be shortened to a four letter name.
If my dad was talking to a Welsh person, I'd probably magically have Welish heritage. My dad is all about exaggerating things to impress people.
ALSO I'M GIVING MYSELF FLASHBACKS. I'm going to spend a couple of days updating the directory backup I posted here by putting adding some names back in from the backup I have saved to my computer. I'm only going to add forum group members though, so I have crosscheck between the two lists. It's been a while since I made myself crazy like this.
Okay, this darn heatwave in Québec needs to go away. I'm dying...
And to manage my achievements, etc. I've made galleries for them. Easier that way.
Oh and does anyone know why I don't see the total items sold and profits of my ABcelt shop anymore? It's at 0. I know it's old (more than 12 years), but the countdown shouldn't be 0 lol

I believe the shop til display has been taken down whilst the recent lag is looked into, but the data is still collecting in the background
: thank you both! I had been wondering about that, too!
ooohhhh that would make sense lol. I had a bit of anxiety when I saw the 0 he he he . thanks.

I messed up and bought two of the . D: I bought all the ones I wanted so it's not like it replaced something else I wanted, but I'm still annoyed.
I kinda want a No Stupid Questions thread somewhere on the subeta forums ... for things that aren't worth their own thread, but I'm curious about.

Those are all fun questions. I have had doubts about the "hints" in the fishing game. lol
I went to the doctor for the first time in forever and the doctor told my thyroid felt a bit enlarged. .-. I feel like I'm too young to have thyroid issues but my aunt's thyroid is practically dead so I guess it runs in the family. I haven't been prescribed anything yet because he's waiting for blood results but yeah, I don't necessarily like this news.
I have a loose tendon in my knee too (he was able to bend it sideways further than he should have) so that might be where that reoccurring bruise is coming from.
I don't know if there's such a thing as too young - my sister's had problems with hers since she was a child, and I had problems in my late twenties (it seems to have settled down in the last year or two). It's good you're getting it checked out. I didn't realise until mine resolved how much of an impact it was actually having on my general health. I was lucky and didn't have to go onto any medication (I had to come off a medication I was on for something else though). Hope everything goes ok for you.
Collagen issues/hyper-mobility also run in my family, and I do find I get a lot of small bruises around connecting areas (ankles, knees etc), particularly if I've been doing something physically active.
That's probably true - it just depends on history. I just went in for a general check up because I didn't go for a long time and I guess the office wanted to know if I was still even a patient. I certainly didn't expect coming out with suspected thyroid issues. It sounds like I might need medication for it but we'll see.
My wrists and ankles are hyper-mobile and I just tend to get joint pain (the kind that goes away after a few hours in a brace). I didn't even know bruising could be associated and didn't even think about my knee being hyper-mobile too. Luckily, I don't think I need to invest in a knee brace yet.
It's mostly knees and ankles for me (and fingers and toes, but they're easier to deal with ;) ) I used to have a lot of trouble with my knees - physio, constant support bandages etc for years - then about 18 months ago I went to a new physio who recommended I see a podiatrist (I have absolutely zero arch on my feet, and apparently my tendons are so overstretched I shouldn't be able to function, but hey-ho, somehow I can!). Two pairs of orthotic insoles and some strengthening exercises later and my knees are soooooooo much better! Can't believe none of the previous people I'd seen had thought of it. Still get twinges/aches a lot, but whereas 2 years ago I was struggling to go up and down stairs, a month ago I climbed the Big Daddy sand dune in Namibia and didn't even notice it :D I'm so thankful I've been able to reverse some of the damage/scar tissue before it developed into arthritis.
If it was just a general check up and you hadn't noticed any particular symptoms, hopefully whatever it is they've caught early :)
I have super flat feet too. I need insoles in every pair of shoes or else the sides of my feet will ache.
And I feel doctors forget what seems obvious sometimes. Did the other two ever push for surgery?
I'm hoping that they only thing my thyroid has done at this point is just made it easier for me to gain weight (though the thyroid wouldn't be the only factor in the case). I'm not super overweight, nothing that cutting out sugar and a daily walk can't fix in a couple of months. The doctor made it sound like if I needed medication, it would help with the weight loss too.
And even if my thyroid isn't the reason and it's all stress weight, I will need it lose it anyway if I'm going to keep my knee and ankles happy.
Sounds similar to the position I was in - I'd tried moderate exercise and improving my diet without much success and then I'd lose motivation (never have been and never will be skinny, but would like to be in a bit better shape). I was very active in my teens and university and the thyroid issues seem to have built gradually over several years, so I didn't really notice and just chalked it up to getting older, having a sedentary job and not having the metabolism of a teenager anymore.
But once my thyroid function started to recover, the weight started shifting without me even realising. I had more energy and then when my knee improved, exercise was a lot easier so I started to do more. I've noticed changes in my appetite (used to always be hungry, now I have what I consider a more regular appetite, so I snack less, so I lose more weight, helps with the hypermobility - virtuous circle ;) ). Still have a bit to go, but I've definitely noticed the benefits.
The thyroid also skyrocketed my anxiety (either directly, or indirectly by raising my baseline blood pressure). I still have frequent issues, but within a couple of months I noticed how much less often I was having anxiety attacks and/or reverting to certain OCD tendencies and just overall feeling less anxious all the time. Makes me wonder sometimes if some things in those years might have been different if my thyroid had been functioning normally.
I was at the point with my knee where the docs were saying 'well if this doesn't work, we might have to think about surgery in a few years', but thankfully we didn't get to needing serious discussions on the subject.
