I can't say how awesome it is that you're giving the pet profiles priority in the overhaul update! I've seen people kind of shrug off pets in the past, because this place does have great avatars and forums for socializing, but I'm here for the pets first lol! and seeing all these pages of comments i freaking love seeing all the other pet people come out too! As one of the people who put in that money and those hours/days/months of work on the art, stories, css, ect, it's good to know ya'll see us and are going out of the way to make the process even better :)

I'm very excited for this change! It's good to read this news. I'm just hoping maybe someone (like a staff member for instance) might post a tutorial for the basics you can add to your pet profile. I have a few images I would like to add as BGs for my pets'profiles, but I want them to fit and not become multiple little images.

Someone did have a tutorial on their pet profile, but it was removed due to people just ripping off things on the pet's page. If a staff member posted a tutorial somewhere, hopefully people wouldn't rip stuff off.

On one hand, I'm super stoked because the multiple spoiler tabs on Alvina's WIP profile are finally working the way they should be.

On the other, it looks as though all of my previous Spotlight-winning pets completely broke (for example, I don't even know what happened to Kirke's text, overlay or... anything other than the background and art?).

I buy my coding so I’m not a coder mostly because even though I do know some html/css i’m Just not a coder.

That said I’m excited for this just because as someone that buys coding for my profiles I don’t like when they bork due to site changes but also because I know it’ll be less frustrating to people that code their own profiles and stuff.

Nothing quite like your crappy, years old code breaking to remind you how bad you have gotten at coding. :p ha. I keep thinking that I should mess around with my pet's profiles more and did, just a bit before all of this. It was a little crushing when my main one got messed up and I played with it forever until I figured out the one stupid thing that made it fine again.

But, hey! Still looking forward to all the site changes. ;) Really, it's so nice to know that the pet profiles are going to get their own page type instead of being trapped in the basic site wrapper.

I'm happy you guys are making the transition as seamless/easy as possible. I'm really happy for an update as well. And the options to opt in / out are great bc knowing my lazy ass I will get around to re-coding profiles months after v2.0 is released haha so that will be much needed. Kudos.

Awesome! I've put off amending the coding for most of my pets after the most recent change (I'll get round to it eventually) but I'm just pleased that not all my 81 pets have a profile yet! :P (what can I say, I'm a pet-a-holic :P)

Really looking forward to this though, as it might actually push me to get on and work on those other pet profiles that I have ideas for, but haven't actually coded yet :D

I agree a tutorial for pet profile coding would be nice. I think that in order to post an image and not have it repeat you need to use this: background-repeat: no-repeat;

I'm really excited for this. While I'll have to tediously change 44 different pets (Can we have some universal coding too? Like our own CSS that works on every pet?) I am very happy that this may be the last time I have to edit one or two tiny things on their profiles. At least my pets' profiles aren't complicated at all ;w;

I'd like to second the request for a tutorial if at all possible, and if not some documentation would be better than having to poke at it through inspector in a browser.

I saw some of your profiles and loved them! What code do you use to make the HA show up on a pet profile?

I actually edit those HAs then post them on there as regular images =D Simple as that. Most of my profiles are destroyed right now but they all contain the same universal content, but thank you ;w;

So you take a screenshot of the HA in the wardrobe and upload it to an image sharing site?

I learned how to code for myself because I didn't want to pay so much sp for profiles. That might have been the right choice since the site layout changes from time to time and sometimes users who code profiles for others leave the site. Also, my profiles are very simple compared to others. One example is my pet

Despite the simple layout, she has a special story that serves as a love letter to the staff who work so hard to ensure all of us enjoy Subeta!

I'm looking forward to these changes. The recent layout changes have make my two profiles worse than they were, but they were never right from the beginning because of my lack of coding skills.

I'm very curious about the new customization options. Maybe it will get me to fix existing profiles and actually get to work on the rest of them.

everyone of my pets profiles are mucked up paid a fortune like others on here who cannot code to get what they want for all their pets and now its all gone.

I know this sucks for those who paid for their pet profiles. But changes are always happening. In the real world but also in the digital world. When I look at this site and compare it how it used to be when I just started here. So much change, some were bad but many were/are good.

If this means a steady and an easier to work with pet profile, then that's fine with me. Always planned to do something with the profiles of my pet, but never really got into it. Perhaps with the new system, I will. It will not be mindboggling, I think, but I will have fun doing it and at least it won't be the default anymore. :)

So keep up the good work and keep us informed about it.

I appreciate this change a lot. I don't have the time or energy to constantly push out hacked together patches for my code whenever there's a layout change, especially when I'm barely online (like now, haha). It's really tiring having to keep up with all the changes. ;; I'm just lucky that the issues with profiles I've made can be fixed with the same code; it would be... really exhausting have to fix 100-200 profiles individually.

Also super appreciate the legacy mode! That'll be great for both commissioners and profile makers alike. Profile makers shouldn't be expected to fix up years and years of profiles to fit the new pet profile system we'll have, but it would suck for commissioners to no longer be able to use profiles they love.

after the change my pet Mondstaub has lost her TC on her profile as well as the little drop down thingy where the SPotlight winning part (if she ever wins) will be....

As someone without coding knowledge - do I have to ask th eperson who made her profile to do some chamges, so both will be visible again?

now do I have to get each coder to change them? So not funny
