I am excited to see the new changes. I'm curious what the new profiles will look like, as well as how the old profiles will compare o:
[edit] It sounds like there will be an experiment pet where you can see the profiles and switch to the new one
Very glad about the implementation of this legacy mode. Seems promising.
This will be nice to see implemented. As someone with 75+ pets, it gets pretty discouraging to go through and fix things that break when the code hasn't been touched in months. Additionally, I code for my friends' pets too, so that's even more work I've got to do.
I know that most of the issues have to do with this site being old. SUPER old. Of course backend things are broken and incompatible. While I'm definitely frustrated over my profiles breaking, I also know that constant bandaid fixes aren't going to help either. I'm looking forward to being able to get these coding fixes done once and for all, and not worry about touching them again until I'm good and ready on my own terms.
I am excited for this! I have so many stories and personal art that I haven't gotten around to put on my pet profiles simply because I don't have the time to personally code each pet profile. (And I haven't coded in several years, since high school -_-) I am excited for an easier way to personalize them. :D Keep up the great work, guys!
This is VERY good news.. thanks for thinking of this Subeta.. something that makes this site great! :)
Oh, I'm excited to see how it makes it easier for people like me to spruce up the profile when I don't know how to code.

Since all I have left is my very own loser pet profile "coding" (believe it or not but it survived all changes like an armored cockroach) I am ready for everything you throw at me...
(The Pet Slot Totem on the News page made my heart skip a beat though, please don't do this to me.)
Thanks for the announcement. As is, most of my pet's profiles are royally fucked with recent changes, and when pets are the main reason I continue to log in, it's really disheartening.
However, I'm glad to hear there will be a new system, and that it's an actual priority. Given the frequent updates staff have been making (particularly and ), I have faith that this will all work out. I can't wait to see these changes!
OK good, I thought I had done something to mess up my profiles. Glad there was a site-based reason and it's being dealt with. Thank you for the update!
I will now be rigorously praying that my carpel tunnel will heal before this rolls out, Thank you! Totally excited for this!! :)
This change sounds amazing!
My coding knowledge is very bad, this is why my pet's profiles are regular.. I hope the new system will provide an easy way to make great profiles to those without the coding knowledge.. I really want to submit my pets to the spotlight, but it's not possible with regular profiles..
Questions:
News mentions it'll be easier for people that aren't as familiar with coding: what kind of changes can we look forward to? I haven't been able to figure out how to do a background yet eh he he.
By separating the pet pages from the main site, will it help cut down on lag?
Will user profiles also be separated from site? I know many having issues with those codes being affected by site changes as well.
Thank you so much to all the staff coming up with solutions and working on this. I'm in full support of growing the site and making the changes that need to be made, so to see staff push toward that while also going above and beyond by doing absolutely everything they can to sort of "grandfather in" (for lack of a better phrasing) such a core part of the site for many people running smoothly is just-- so heart warming? I'm not even sure how to describe it, but it's times like this that really show how much staff care. It may be hard to see it when there are frustrations like some current pet profiles getting a bit wonky, but at the end of the day we all want the same thing.
I'm super excited to see what these profiles 2.0 will be like-- especially as someone with little to no coding knowledge. (And I can only imagine what coders will be able to do with a better, more up to date pet profile to work off of! I look forward to all the cool new layouts that are sure to be made in the future with this~)
We don't have more details to share yet, but yes, we are planning to provide customization options that do not require manually coding anything.
Probably not, as pet profiles are currently not a significant source of lag.
User profiles are currently separate from the site layout, so they don't pose the same problems. While we may eventually decide to upgrade them as well, it's not a focus right now and they certainly won't be worked on alongside the planned pet profile changes.

Thank you for clarifying. I really appreciate how staff takes time to answer people's enquiries and is open, means a lot :) PS I finally got Nightshade!
