Professor Brookvale gets the attention of the students one last time.
"I hope you all have been enjoying yourselves! By now you should have plenty of teacups lying about and I think we should put them to good use!"
Waving her wand, a stack of crimson books appears on a side table.
"This is a copy of 'Tea Leaves for the Loved' that was recommended to me by Professor Palladino. Though he does remind us that putting such a small parameter on the view of our leaves could be less telling than looking for clues leaning toward all aspects of life" She smiles and something in her expression says that she doesn't put too much stock in divination, though she remains good natured.
"Feel free to take a copy and read a friend's cup. You just may find something interesting."
Tea Reading for Love
First, swirl the cup three times in the left hand and gently turn upside down to drain any excess liquid. Be sure the handle of the cup is facing the one you are doing the reading for.
The arrangement of the tea leaves has important meanings that you can interpret to know the future.
If there are still drops of liquid left inside the cup even after emptying it, it represents tears; meaning you may possibly experience heartbreak from a person you love.
If you see a big clump of tea leaves, then it means that you may get in trouble with your loved one.
If the tea leaves are near the handle, it means that you are the one who caused the trouble or the reason for your breakup.
If the tea leaves are opposite from the handle, then the trouble is caused by someone else, perhaps a third party lover.
Long tea leaf stalks indicate men, while the shorter tea leaf stalks indicate women.
The paleness and darkness of the tea leaf stalks indicate the color tone of the person. If the tea leaf stalks are slanted, then this indicates a person who should not be trusted.
Common Love Shapes and Their Meaning in Tea Leaves
A harp means that love will come to your life because of peace in your life. The peace that you experience gives way to harmony and eventually love.
A heart-shaped figure means that you will experience pleasure from someone you love, and feel compassion and trust with someone who may be your romantic partner.
A horse-shaped figure means that your romantic partner will come to you soon.
A necklace shows that you have admirers that may not have yet expressed their feelings for you. If the figure of a necklace appears to be broken, then you might lose a lover.
((OOC: This went a little longer than expected (and I ended up busy yesterday, sorry!) so we'll keep in going until Tuesday the 20th to finish up.))

"I bet he will", Elizabeth said. She thought with a smile that it was really cute how much thought Millie () put in the present for her boyfriend. However, her smile faded when Corvus spoke up about the animals at the table. Sure, a table full of food, tea and crafting materials wasn't a place for animals...but around here were people who she considered friends or at least fellow schoolmates and she didn't want that anyone felt reprimanded by Corvus. She reached for her cup of tea and touched his hand on purpose, looking at him with a serious face. The wizard's shoulders sank back to the backrest of his chair again. "I was torn between either working at the Department of Mysteries or the Department of Magical Transportation, but I think I'll settle for Magical Transportation. There are many restrictions if you work at the Department of Mysteries and I'm not too fond to spend my whole life with research either.", he replied to Millie. "Curser breakers? Now that sounds interesting - it involves a lot of travelling and adventure. So, does he already have his place there? They seem to take some time with my application."
Elizabeth was glad that Corvus was more relaxed now and pointed her wand with Accio in her mind at one of the books Professor Brookvale had just placed on the side table. Even though she did not believe everything about this kind of stuff, it was still highly entertaining. She grinned when she noticed that Corvus' cup of Assam tea was empty and swiped his tea cup from him. Of course she received an irritated look as his mind was still focused on the conversation about future professions. "I hope you don't mind if I read yours.", Elizabeth said amused and placed the cup exactly how Professor Brookvale had instructed them. "Mhm. Your tea leaf stalks are rather dark, but that's not quite surprising.", Elizabeth analyzed with an amused tone in her voice. "This shape might be a heart...I guess", she said and showed him the explanation, "but it could also be an arch, which represents a journey to a foreign land or even marriage." Corvus laughed. "I might go for the arch then. Can't wait to leave the American way of life behind.", he said amused and reached for the cup of Earl Grey Elizabeth had been drinking from. "Some clumps of tea leaves...so...does this mean much trouble over little things? It looks like a chimney with some puffs of smoke...this would represent some sort of hidden truths and risks..." He raised an eyebrow at Elizabeth, who did the same. "I wasn't aware you were into tea reading.", she replied, half-amused, half-serious and reached for the book.
(OOC; ~ thanks for the extension! :) @ anyone else - I've replied on the page before at the end. (:
"Emmett's father works for the German Department of Magical Transportation" she told Corvus () "He pretty much has the position. He'll be staying with my parents until he can get his own place. We've known each other since we were kids and since I'm always up here at Hogwarts, it shouldn't be a problem.
"Gringotts starts all curse breakers out in the bank before they are sent out to the field. That way they get experience before going off toe a far away land. We're both really excited. We love to travel.
She looked up and listened to Professor Brookvale's talk about tea leaves. She took her own cup and looked in it. There she saw a heart. She could feel herself blush and she looked away before anyone could see.
Jona finally pulled Clark from his shirt to hold him, wiggling and writhing in his hands. He frowned at the pale guy from Ilvermorny, apparently someone who was not an animal lover. "Sorry," he said, without really meaning it. "I should probably take Clark back to settle him down anyway. I'd hate for him to ruin the food." Jona looked down at the table that was covered in glitter and papers and mostly empty plates, just to make a point of how ridiculous he felt the reprimand was. However, he did respect the guy's discomfort and took Clark away. "See y'all later." Jona waved goodbye as he stumbled out the gazebo.
((and everyone else))
(sorry for the delay, so busy)
Zoe was laughing at Clark as he ran up Jona's body. It was too cute. She smiled at Elizabeth. "Thank ye." Millie's agreement of her possibly part niffler boyfriend amused her as well. But Corvus did not. She gave him a cool look and picked Lewis up. Having coming from the moors of Scotland she was quite different than he was. She didn't see anything wrong at all and found the stuffy reproach rather distasteful. Zoe simply picked up her bag, plopped Lewis inside and walked off. She was afraid of saying something wrong. She wound up beside Jona and it was clear from the look on her face she was not happy.
Millie frowned as two of her friends left the table, offended by Corvus' () comment. She had missed the comment over Clark climbing all over Jona (). She thought for staying for another cup of tea but decided it was time to head back to the library to resume studying. "I should go. I still have quite a bit of homework to finish. I'll see you later, Elizabeth. She gave a half smile to Corvus, and left the table with the card the made for Emmett
(OOC; sorry I didn't want everyone to leave oo I feel a bit bad right now. oo" )
Corvus was about to answer Millie (), when the young boy(), who had a niffler as well left and Zoe(), along with her Niffler followed him. Were they so easily offended? It just didn't occur right to him if there were animals at a table with food and drinks. Elizabeth sighed and waved to her leaving friends. Only good upbringing prevented her from following them and leaving her fiancé sitting there alone. "Charming, Corvus. I consider these people my friends. I might dare to say that their reaction was a bit...spontaneous, but this here was a small tea party with a workshop, not a high-class dinner. No need to act so awfully snobby.", she said and shook her head. She looked apologizing to Professor Brookvale and started to tidy the table a bit. Corvus bit his lip. Maybe he had been to strict to himself and everyone around here. He took some paper sheets and a quill to write three small letters. ( Hello. I am truly sorry for the words I have said at the workshop. I should have known better than to act that distasteful. Therefore, I hope you will accept this apologise. Regards ~ Corvus ) For a moment he was wondering if he should write his full name, but this would seem even more pretentious. He rolled the letters up carefully and sealed them with a tip of his wand. "I was wondering if we could send these from the Owl Post Office in Hogsmeade to your....friends.", he said quietly and Elizabeth looked up in surprise, but then nodded and even smiled a bit.
((OOC: noo, don't feel bad. We're all supposed to start wrapping things up since this closes tomorrow anyway. 'Side, I think a little - just a little - conflict is good))
Sauvage continued to sit there awkwardly with Fade as Millie, Zoe, and Jona all got up and left. Lenore was still hanging about, but she was awful quiet today and now it seemed that Anne and Corvus were tidying up to leave as well. She spoke: "I supposed zat is ze end of ze workshop zen, I guess?"
Lenore watched quietly as a few of the students left. Personally, she didn't mind the nifflers. Had this been a more formal event she would have felt differently of course. But still, Corvus was someone that she considered a friend and knowing what it was like to be raised by a traditional pure-blood family, his actions weren't something that surprised or offended her. She shrugged inwardly. There weren't that many things that did offend her really.
"It looks like." she smiled at Sauvage () and tucked a finished valentine into her bag, planning to send it out later on with Pallas. "It is getting rather late."
"I didn't get my tea reading though." she looked down at her coffee cup wondering. "Before we leave, do either of you know how to read coffee grounds?" She addressed the question to Liz () and Corvus, both because she had been impressed by Corvus' knowledge of tea leaves and because she wanted to allow them to leave on a more pleasant note.
((OOC: No worries Liz! Conflict arrises in social settings and it adds interest to the story. Just because OC's might get offended doesn't mean that the real people portraying them are ;) ))

(( Totally don't feel bad <3 I'm not offended. Zoe's one of those run outside with no shoes on lower middle class--raising chickens on a farm on the moors type. Her family struggles to send her to Hogwarts. She's not used to social Etiquette at all. She would have no idea what to do with those extra forks or what have you. She barely knows how to talk to people. Not everyone can get along all the time. 'Side's a little drama can be fun. Also love the ha ^.^))
