It sounds like your raspberries are in a place they love and thrive on the manure and amount of moisture they get. I just had a blueberry plant die, it drowned. Unfortunately it was under the roof when it rained and the entire pot was filled with water and it was unable to drain. it was already about to die anyways due to poor soil. We used the natural soil here which is clay, like yours. It's kind of irritating how much clay there is in the soil as nothing that requires proper draining soils will grow. You lay fleece over plants for when it snows?

sits and admires your outfit :D Aww on the blueberry :( I had to raise my pots up on pot feet just to make sure they could drain out of the bottom, but even then it's down to luck really on the amount of rain! You could try adding garden-grade grit sand to the soil - that should help to loosen the clay a bit (at least that's what I've done in some bits of the allotment). It depends on the plants :P I have a fleece tunnel that will go over the cabbage plants when we get a frost - that'll stay over them until March, but some of the other plants are pretty hardy so they just get no shelter at all ;) Thanks :D I love the Snow White embroidery, and those sneakers look incredible! How did you do that?

There's a community garden across the street, but the waiting list is ... daunting, to say the least. And someone there had a blackberry bush, but it's gone now, because after years of people taking the occasional berry that was reachable through the fence as they passed by, some asshat decided to bring their kid who could reach through the fence and take everything.

I can imagine on the waiting list for that! That's a real shame with that person's blackberry bush :( I'm lucky with my allotment - the entire site is locked, but I still try to keep my fruit bushes on the inside bits of my plot, as some of the young children don't realise where their parents' plots end and mine starts, so they tend to take quite a lot of my raspberries :P

I need to look into that garden grade sand - I hadn't thought of that. I was thinking any old sand from the park might work (it's free... LOL). I decided the beach sand might be too salty though. It's probably better to get stuff just for that purpose though.

Thanks for the compliments. With the sneakers I bought cheap black canvas sneakers from the supermarket and painted them with acrylic. I used cyan, magenta-purple, and pink to get most of the effect. I also used some white for added contrast and then used a toothbrush (used only for art lol) to splatter white 'stars' all over the place. How are you soing? Also I love your new HA - that bg is awesome and looks so cool with that sweater.

Thanks for the compliment also on the capris and shoes! I am really excited with how the shoes turned out as well. I thought about painting a Tardis on them but then decided if I did a detailed shoe I'd want my sister to actually buy a good quality shoe that she'll be able to wear a bit longer. I got these ones at Walmart for $4! lol How are things going for you/your family? Also, I have to say I really like how well you worked with all those different pieces to tie them together. I can never wear those shoes but it works perfectly with that cute dress!
