Yggdrasill. I found her in the pound with that name the day after I changed my username to Tree, so it felt very meaningful to adopt her. Yggdrasil, for those who don't know, is the name of the tree that connects the nine worlds in Norse mythology. The ending with two L's is an ending used in Old Norse, and is often not rendered in most English translations. Other than that, I also turned her into an experiment before the yaherra was just a normal pet. This is reference to the name possibly mean "Ygg's Horse." Ygg mean the "terrible one" in Old Norse and is another name for Odin, who "rode" the tree by hanging himself on it to gain knowledge of the runes. Hey, look, it's still appropriate to my current username. The yaherra also looks like a deer, and four mystical deer are said to graze on Yggdrasil's branches. I turned her gold after the was demoted because there are many references to gold and sunlight in Old Norse mythology and poetry. All in all, it's pretty much the perfect representation for the name. Except for possibly the gender, but i just feel that female is the right choice. Nope, nothing to back that one up, unlike the rest of this stuff.

uuuuUUUHHHH well this'll be a shock to absolutely no one but it's definitely Aran. I'm coming up on nine years since I came up with her concept, and we've been through a lot together. This is going to sound kind of dumb, but I think one of the most important things is that she was my first gay character - the only outlet I had as a confused and closeted young teen. On top of that, when I started struggling with depression and anxiety, I made her personality very outgoing, carefree, and friendly, which were all traits I aspired to have. I think I daydreamed enough about her that it carried me through my roughest years, and I'm a lot better as a result. Thanks for the help, Aran.

Another important pet is my dear Kayzo. She's based off my first cat, also named Kayzo, who I got when I was 3, and lived long enough to see me graduate college - needless to say, she was very important in my life, and it means a lot to me to have a Subeta tribute to her. I need to work on her profile sometime soon.

Reading through this topic has been such a blast. I loved seeing everyone's posts and how much care there was for pets ;v;

From a purely pet perspective, my favorite is Halden. He's my main battler and I've poured a lot of sP into his training! I'm not sure he's my overall favorite but he's a very dear character to me, he's been through a lot of revamps over the years. Another reason he's so dear as a Subeta pet is that the reborn mortiking actually inspired me to do a massive revamp of his original character (he used to be a fairly generic serial killer, lol, with a totally different name). I'd been struggling with inspiration for the character for a while because I was no longer very interested in his original concept, which was hard to deal with since Hal is connected to some of my other OCs as well as, well, being a pet that I've poured so much sP into. And somehow when the reborn mortiking came out, something clicked and I immediately had a revamp in mind for my boy : D

When it comes to favorite characters outright... I don't know that I have one anymore, actually. I don't play favorites as much as I used to, lol. I'll always have a major soft spot for Fanto, though, he's a very important character to me.

This is a bit of a hard decision because I love all of my pets extremely much, but I'm flip-flopping between Shihab, Dustin, and Nichte.

Shihab was my first pet, and he holds a lot of value to me for that alone. If I ever had to clear space for another pet idea without buying another slot, he's definitely one that's never leaving, ever. Dustin on the other hand is very deeply rooted in my personal experiences as an autistic person and his whole story and circle of related pets are based on my child self and experiences I remember from my younger life, so he has very deep sentimental value to me, like a self-portrait in text. Also, he's really stinkin' cute, so that's a bonus.

As for Nichte, she's just really cool and she doesn't even have a bio yet for the most part but I still love her so much

My favorite currently is my Cybill, Furrby. BECAUSE HE'S A EFFING FURBY.
