gave me a few of the best Luminaire gifts I've ever received! It really did make me smile with the thought and generosity put into it! <3
Boyfriend & I did movie night tonight, which was nice! It'll be a weekly thing from now on, and he promised to get popcorn for next week's edition ❤
I recently won an HA challenge event.

I got paid a little more than I expected for my paycheck! I forgot a few hours I worked, so that was a nice surprise.
I'm -so- excited, tomorrow there will be a presentation of artistic gymnastics at my city with some gymnasts from the national team. It's the only sport that I actually have some interest in, but no one cares about it. It's a rare occasion and a rare chance. u
My new beloved game Skyrim sometimes takes forever to load new scenes. So instead of getting mad, frustrated or impatient, I've gathered drawing materials to have near my computer so I can practice while I wait for things to load.

My mum's stopping by later today with chicken and freshly made mochi!
What do you practise then?
Some new friends came over for drinks last night. It's harder to make friends as an adult since everyone's so busy. It's been a joy to build new friendships.
LOL anything around - the computer, the front cover of a book, the background image on my second monitor. Pretty much drawing anything I can see from my computer desk.

Ah, I didn't know you draw! Do you have any examples you're willing to show us?
Do you have any pictures of your creations? You talked about making some gifts for your beau's coworkers before, and I'm curious about your work!
My daily positivity: Monday's over!
I've posted some on the gif thread. But here's what I have scanned in and immediately available:
my so-so art stuff

The top three images are all pencil sketches that I colorized on the computer. The cat is a water colour.

Wow, that's looking superb! I especially love the cat in water colour! I've never done water colour before, but I really should do it some time. Is it difficult?
Water colour is fun, but unforgiving. You need a fair amount of confidence. If you're too hesitant you end up with water splotches, like the particularly bad example on the wall right below the cat.
I would start by not drawing anything at all. Just put colour to paper and play a bit to see how it feels. Its a very different medium. I've played with charcoal, pencil, a tiny bit of oils, pastels and ink. Water colour is the most unforgiving and I found I just couldn't translate experience with other mediums because it felt so different.

I thought that splotch was the cat's shadow!
I'll have to try it out. Should I start with cheap watercolours or is it better to buy better ones from the start? Like in art school we used acrylics and we had to buy a rather expensive start from the beginning, even though we were complete n00bs at painting. I also want to try out oil painting, is it easier or more difficult than watercolours?
LOL it is the shadow, but I wasn't happy with it and tried to fix it, only making it worse. The edges should be soft.
I really can't say, I didn't work much with them. Frankly I'd go for really cheap stuff at first - give you a chance to work with it see how it feels to you. If you don't like, then you won't have wasted money on quality stuff. If you find you do like it, then you can put the money in. But that's just the way I look at it, might be if you start with higher quality stuff, you may have a better experience.
