-- So she is doing well, still having a hard time focusing her vision. Her facial nerves were really stretched so she can't really smile or close her right eye very well. All of these should heal in time! She is still having a hard time sleeping and really isn't sleeping much at all. We got some melatonin so hopefully that will help!
She looks forward to reading these messages when she gets back online :)
Thank you for the update
I'm so glad to hear you're doing well. I hope that you recover even faster than the doctors expect and that despite everything you still have a wonderful holiday season and a healthy and happy New Year! hugs
thanks for the update and let her know we're thinking of her <3
Thank you for the update! The group ping worked for me this time. :D Aww, I hope that the melatonin helps her get some sleep. <3 I am glad that her nerves will heal, hopefully sooner rather than later. I know stuff like that takes time, though. I hope that she will be feeling well enough to be back with us soon!
Hopefully the melatonin makes sleeping easier, sleep as much as you can when you're able to <3 I'm sure everyone here is looking forward to having you back with us, fingers crossed you feel better by Christmas so you can enjoy all the wonderful festivities and treats!
Agh! I keep missing those pings =(
I am so happy and relieved to hear she is home! Look at this piece of amazing news!! Recovery is a little easier when you're surrounded by family and in a homey environment <3 Hopefully with the right meds this time will fly by.
I read that, bae! I'm sooo happy to see that her recovery is going well~
Also, pls pick your phone. We gotta talk. LOL
Thanks for the update and I'm glad to hear that she's doing well. :) I hope that she'll be able to get some rest.
Angela has given me instructions on what to let you all know :) She can't feel her hands very well so she can't type yet. Her vision is still hard to focus but it's improving. She's got some big bruises on her arms and elbows, and a rash we think from tape all over her shoulders and back. She isn't hallucinating nearly at all (yay!) and we're hoping she is going to be unwired tomorrow and only have hard rubber bands. She'll go from a compete liquid diet to soft foods only for several months. I read her a few of your comments they made her really happy. Thanks so much everyone! She's looking forward to getting back on subeta and talking to you all again. ❤
thanks for the update. -hugs her- Feel better, been thinking lots of you
Thank you so much for the update again :D I'm so happy to hear she's making progress - I hope it continues to go well. - I get rashes/sores from adhesives too, so she's not alone on that.
Aww, poor dear! sends her hugs I am glad that she isn't hallucinating anymore though, and that the wires can be removed soon. I hope that she is feeling much better by Christmas, so that she can enjoy the holidays more. <3
That's great to hear! Keep those improvements coming <3 No more hallucinations, what amazing news! sends hugs I get rashes from medical tape too, you're not alone there :c
I am incredibly sorry to bother you with a ping. If you have a little bit of time, I would love if you could let us know if she has made any more progress <3 (I'm sure you have tons of other priorities, like caring for your sister - sorry again for bothering you!)
❤️ ❤️ ❤️ hugs Thank you all for all the warm wishes, thoughts, prayers, and support. You have no idea how your messages brightened my days up over the past two weeks. My lovely sister, [User=reekoh], would read to me and update me, letting me know that you guys were rooting for me. Your kindness really does melt my heart. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
This is the first chance I have had since my surgery to really sit down and take a breather and get back to you all with an update. Not only was I hallucinating a lot up until this week on Tuesday (due to a negative reaction to the medication used to keep me sedated while in surgery etc.), but I couldn't feel my fingers to type. They pinched the nerves in both my arms while I was strapped down to the operating table so that is why I have had finger/hand numbness. Also, half of my face is numb-paralyzed which makes my vision out of my right eye quite blurry.
My surgery went well but was much worse than anticipated. Instead of an 9-ish hour joint replacement surgery I ended up being placed in a medically induced coma for a total of 4 days while they operated on me twice. I was operated on for a total of 24 hours over the two times they operated. I lost a lot of blood the first time and had to get transfused. They kept me in hospital for about a week longer than expected and I reacted really negatively to the drugs they gave me that kept me sedated into the coma (=hallucinating without realizing it for a week is quite scary).
Anyways, I have been really struggling keeping weight on me since the induced coma and the fact that I have been wired shut for 2 weeks. I lost 10 lbs over the past 2 weeks (bad for me since I was already dangerously low weight to begin with). The past two weeks have been difficult for me in terms of swelling, numbness, and discomfort/hunger levels, but every day I get better!
Yesterday I was underwired and 4 tight rubber-bands now hold my jaw/teeth shut. I have to wear the rubber-bands 24-7 or there is a risk I could dislocate my jaw joints again and require more surgery. I can now breathe a bit easier and I can drink liquids from a cup (as long as I hold the right half of my lip onto the cup since it is totally numb still lol). I am so glad to not be eating from syringes anymore!
Also, the numbness in my fingers has moved up so now it's the back of my hands that are numb. I can type now, it's just slow and a bit awkward.
I am including a couple pictures below, nothing graphic or anything, I promise. Me in ICU. Showing a side view of my face - this was taken on Monday this week. Lastly, I want you to know I am not always a scary person who is sickly, so this is what I looked like 1 day before surgery. Me (left) with my sister (reekoh -right). My sister got us those super cool matching shirts -- if you understand the shirt than you understand how amazing they are and how cool my sister is!
❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ Thank you all again for being so kind and thoughtful! You really are amazing friends! hugs

I really really extremely want:- Aww :) :) :)
Also, your face in that first picture HECKA swollen should be noted you only looked like that for like 2 days. The swelling really went down fast after that...and you look amazing now! The side cut on your hair is going to make you so trendy!! Glad you are feeling better, too. YAY <3
So good to hear from you and that things are getting better! The whole experience sounds horrid and I'm so sorry you had to go through it, but at least it sounds like the worst is now over and from here things will only look up fingers crossed I hope this all helps you in the long run too <3 Look at all the progress you're making though! I got really excited when I saw your username in the notification 8D
Yes, this should make it so I do not have to have future jaw surgeries - as this corrected the base problem. It should also mean I no longer have tons of pain, can't chew or bite foods, and in general won't have any more problems with my jaw joints. dances in seat
hugs I too am glad the worst is hopefully behind me. I am done with jaw surgeries and being wired shut. lol This will have been my 3rd surgery-set, technically. So Once before, almost 10 years ago, I had jaw surgery before but they failed to correct the actual problem (which was my joints), which is why I had to do this one now.

I really really extremely want:I'm so sorry to hear there were so many complications - I come from a family of 'complications due to medication' so on some minor level I feel your pain on that front. I'm really relieved to hear that things are starting to move in a good direction for you - I hope they continue to do so and do so even quicker than expected. hugs ALL the BEST wishes for you in the new year! hugs again LIVE LONG AND PROSPER!!! and Happy Luminaire!
BTW way you and your sister are so pretty and nerd-ly wonderful!!!
