Anyway, I didn't support retiring the achievement years ago, but the SP counter has been broken for more than a year. I think it's fair to retire it now.

I agree. If the counter's never going to be fixed, there's no point in having the achievement.

i don't support this retirement. i like this achievement even though i'll never get it bc i spend sp like crazy. it's fun to see what my rank is whenever i go to the user dashboard. ^_^

According to my dashboard I'm now the 3rd richest user. I used to be something like the 18th which suggests that the counter is broken. There's no way I could have gone up 15 places when I haven't been doing much questing and restocking this year.

Still don't think it should be retired. The counter should be fixed instead.

I would support retiring all reporting of relative sP wealth if it can't be rewritten to cause less database havoc.

However, it seems like it could be set up to calculate on a slower basis (calculate all the shop totals at one time, store for the day, calculate all the vault totals and current totals at a different specific time and store for the day, then use that cached ranking of users to compare the individual to until the next calculation is complete ?) -- it wouldn't be moment to moment accurate, but it would take a ton less database processing time and be feasible again.

On the third hand, doing that much work for such a niche part of the game might not be enough of a priority. Maybe do it when you get to the point of rewriting the Dashboard for new.subeta ?

As for retiring or not retiring the achievement, I'm neutral. I can see reasonable arguments on both sides. What is not reasonable is to make it go back to hammering the databases and causing lag. I think we can all agree on that.

I honestly think the amount of people that would hoard SP based on this alone is reaaaallly small

Even if the ranking counter is broken we still know the value of "richest user" - currently its: The richest user has 54,149,496,898 sP. Right there on the stats page.

If you are close to the amount, or you are considering creating a pool to get there, submit a ticket. I mean how often is that amount of sP going to happen? It can be done manually.

I'll be honest, I don't get the appeal of ranks. I just...don't. But it seems to matter to some people for whatever reason, and it doesn't affect me either way, so I don't support getting rid of the achievement just because it only appeals to some people.

However, if the process involved in calculating the richest user is adversely affecting the site, that's a different story. In that case I'd support retiring it; and if an alternate way of calculating it can be figured out sometime in the future, sure, bring it right back.

Is it broken? It's weird that it's on the user dashboard if it's not working, "You are the 158th richest user on Subeta."

I wouldn't mind retiring this achievement as I feel it's a bit more easy these days to use csc to get there than back when it first started and it doesn't seem super fair to users that don't buy csc. Also if the code for it is breaking the site, get rid of it lol, not worth it.

i have no real opinion on the achievement as it stands. if people want to save for or pool for the achievement, more power to them, and if it's fixable for v2 in a way that doesn't make the dashboard crawl to load, that's cool too. (maybe it could be moved to a click to load thing like pet rank?)

but uh, i think it's a little off to say it's like. an easy achievement to buy? the price for csc has been pretty up and down for a bit, but assuming that you're starting from 0, and 100 csc = 8.5m (and assuming that i can do math), you'd need to buy something like... $5,300 worth of csc to beat the highest user? and perhaps that's easy for a whale but. idt that's "easy" for the average person lol

Currently, I'm sitting at the 15th richest user on the site, which I made it to late last month after being at the 16th spot, though I know before that, I was in the 50's, so I don't know how I got up there so fast. I know I've been buying a lot of GA's with the CSC's I've been scrounging together from both the Bathhouse Pools and Morty Cards, so it's made me want to save to get those to keep Autopricing my shop to keep going for the achivement.

...But, hearing that the Richest User has 54 billion right now, as I'm only right now at 1.5 Billion, and I'm kinda wanting to spend some sP on WL items and what-not, but yet wanting to to get the achievement, so I'm kinda torn on what I want to do...

I've been listed as the 25th richest user since it broke, and I don't even have one billion sp, just in case anyone was wondering about how broken it is.

I don't mind the achievement being retired, but it was fun to know where I was as far as how much I had relative to other users went. Though since it's been gone I also haven't missed it. I was more upset way back when we lost that one page where you could track things like what your most expensive item was, what your total estimated account worth was, and other stats like that. But that was years ago now and I don't miss that either. I remember it ended up going away for similar reasons. It just got too broken and too taxing on the site.
