Hahaha, if it didn't hurt to laugh, drink water or move my head much I'd be rolling in laughter. :)
And I didn't know someone had died from luge, that's a bummer and totally scary to think about and I thought it was safer than some of the other sports they show. I'm not really sure about the biathlon, just doesn't make much sense to me. Ice skating is nice but can be a bit of a drag so I watch a few minutes here and there. I prefer the Ski Jump (I think that's what it's called) and Snowboarding. I missed the mens snowboarding but I watched the womens. Been trying to watch the USA team compete in hockey as well. Just a lot to see and watch so there's something for everyone pretty much.
And you might already know, I think we're connected on the fb. Anyway, I ended up at the hospital ER around 3 am yesterday. Apparently I have a stone in my saliva gland. Never knew that was possible. So downing a ton of water and hoping I can leave the house tomorrow or Saturday without wanting to hide my neck.
: A sublingual or submandibular salivary gland stone are not totally unheard of, but unusual. I've seen them in my practice a few times. Usually passes with massage and by inducing salivation (lemon juice works great.) I don't do surgery, but I know of a human doctor in the big city of Fresno who does a procedure called a sialendoscopy that uses a very tiny flexible endoscope the enters the opening of the duct to the gland and they can retrieve the stone. I sure hope you get relief and that you feel better soon. Water is good.
I'm on Facebook about once a week. I usually forget to post anything, but I follow about 100 friends. I saw your post and I feel badly for you.
so I learned today at the ENT I've been seeing that they did not see any stone in my saliva gland, so the doctor and nurse at the ER told not only myself but my husband a lie and I am livid about it, no reason not to tell the truth. ENT is saying it's a lymph node as you first stated (and as I first thought) but he's concerned that if the swelling doesn't go down in the next few days I'll need to have it drained. :( I hope the new meds he provided reverses everything and on Monday I hope the pain is gone and the swelling goes down.
Just to let you know I was massaging the area and sucking on sour candy to create saliva but get this I wasn't told where to look for any puss or the stone to come out of, I didn't think about it either when I was in the ER given the drugs they pumped me with and being tired (didn't sleep a wink until later in the morning on Valentine's Day). So I've been downing more than my usual in water, warm compress every so often, sour candy and resting. Kept peeking in my mouth looking for anything and nada. So after I had low temp (high for me since my normal body temp is lower than usual), I decided to go to the doctor and see what could be done.
: That is one of the most infuriating things I think I have ever heard of. What ever in the world would a Dr and a nurse gain from making up a story like that? I take it then that X-rays weren't done? Unbelievable. I shall kiss you.
you're telling me.. They did do a ct scan with iodine. Which after waiting an hour they told us that there was a tiny salt stone and that was all they said. Yet when I went to my ENT yesterday he got the report and it said no abnormalities. He showed me when I asked him why would they say that I had a stone if I didn't? I then asked him if the care they put me under made sense and as far as the antibiotics goes that's about all they did right. Granted, he did change the antibiotic, gave me prednisone to help with the swelling and a different pain medication which oddly seems to be helping ease more of the pain than the ultram I was given from the ER.
The upside is they will be sending a questionnaire about my visit and they will be receiving in full detail how poorly they did. I understand that it may be difficult to keep up a sense of feeling for people when you're in it day in and day out but the lack of compassion and care was definitely there. They never once told me they were going to give me anything, they just showed up with the morphine. Granted it did wonders for the pain I was in, it would have been nice to know in advance. They also failed to keep up to date on what I was allergic to I had to keep telling them. What if I had been unable? I had a wristband that mentioned this and it was told to the ER nurse when I arrived. Like seriously? Don't be so lazy and careless it could cost someone their life.
sets out pile of candy after was spotted by This has to lure her in to say hi. She has been gone from us so long cries I see flamingo things at store all the time and think of her.
: I've not been on much in the last several days, dealing with IRL, though nothing dramatic or upsetting as what you have been thorough. I am a healer by profession and I can tell you that I am horrified about what you're telling me. I sure hope that you are doing better since then.
seeks out the pile of candy and dives in Hi!! Omg I haven't been on subeta in quite awhile because my laptop had died but now I have a new computer so perhaps I'll actually show up more frequently! I miss you guys! T_T

Thanks! I saw it on the log in page and I was curious if the person was still around and NOPE! they weren't, so i took it :D Plus, it's one of my favorite wines lol.
Welcome back! I haven't been around either-but just due to being bored with Subeta in general. Doing quests and crap. I think some regulars in here/asp also changed their usernames and confused me lol :P
Awesome score! Merlot is one of my favorite wines too, and actually the first wine I ever tried. :D
I know what you mean. Normally I just log in to come chat on ASP/LRVT nowadays. Haven't done much else. But it does always confuse me when I see a bunch of new names, are they new people? Username changes? Sometimes it's a mystery lol
