Hi all! Hope everyone has been doing well. School (and life, really) has been kicking my butt this semester. I'm only taking one class but it's a difficult class and I've found it really hard to keep up with exams, lab practicals, etc. So my grades have dropped quite a bit and now I'm worried if I'll pass the class. I've still got one exam, the final, and one lab practical left so I'm hoping I can bring my grade up to passing.

Life's been quite rough, too. I met with a new rheumatologist today and it was, by FAR, one of the worst doctor experiences I've ever experienced in my life. Even my husband (who goes to the VA for his appointments) said she was one of the worst doctor's he's ever met. She didn't listen to a word I said, disregarded my original diagnosis that I've had for 13 years that was given by the top rheumatologist in our state, and then proceeded to tell me that all of my problems were in my head as soon as she saw that I suffered from bipolar disorder and anxiety disorder (even though I was only diagnosed with bipolar disorder less than a year ago). I gave up on trying to talk to her after a point, and she even made me cry. My husband was furious and even suggested we leave, but we drove two hours to go see this lady so I wanted to stick it out. The only reason I went to see her is because my medications are no longer managing my symptoms appropriately and I can't get in to see my regular rheumatologist until September 2018 due to an insurance change. I think after this experience though I'll gladly wait! :(

, it's such a shame you had such a terrible experience with that doctor. Makes you wonder why she ever went into medicine. She obviously doesn't even like people let alone have compassion for them. I pray you'll be able to do well on the exam you have yet to do and you start feeling better when the stress is lessened. ❤

Thank you. I went home later that night and discovered I had bruises from where she gripped me hard enough to "prove" I had Fibromyalgia (which I already knew and had already been diagnosed with) instead of my autoimmune disease. So now I am covered in bruises and my clavicle bone is swelling and I am in immense pain from where she gripped me. I'm pretty sure that is NOT appropriate for a doctor. My husband has an appointment with our PCP (we have the same one) on Monday and I think I'll mention it to him and see what he'd like me to do. I really, REALLY do not want to go back to see this woman if I'm leaving covered in more bruises then what I went in with!

I'm sorry you went through all of that. She sounds like a horrible doctor. Hope you feel better and you get to see someone else and never have to go back to her.

, she should really be reported. It will be interesting to hear what your PCP has to say. I certainly don't think you should go back to her.
