It's cheap, it's ubiquitous, and it would be nice for brand new battlers to get a good T1 weapon that they already have. It doesn't have to be the best T1 weapon, just one that someone getting a taste of battling can use and feel good about using.

Currently, all the really ancient, useless early tier species weapons like the Kumos gloves give a slight bonus if used by their species. I wish the Swift Neela blade thing from the MC got the same treatment.

For 10mil and at T8, it's an alright weapon. Atk: 7 Physical, Dark, Wind; 12-15 Earth Heals 5% Other: Boosts speed by 75 each turn it is used

I'd love for it to have a same species bonus buff though if a Neela were to use it. Maybe it gives a small wind and earth block (maybe 7-10 icons each), 8% heal and speed boost remains the same.
