I'm Glad everyones family are safe from the Hurricanes.Those were some bad Hurricanes.I just can't believe the devastation they caused.My Heart goes out to all the people that got Hit By the Hurricanes.My House use to flood also for 10+ we dealt with it.The water would come right up to the floors,we only had a crawl space under our house.Our back room was a foot lower so we would have to be prepared ever time we had a bad rain to pump the water out so it wasn't standing in our whole house.We had to pump it down our kitchen sink.We had big ditches at one time then they put sewer line in & it still didn't work.This is nothing compared to what these people had to go threw.To think about these people having to go back & having to deal with cleaning up & rebuilding Breaks my heart.This weather is so crazy,It gets scary sometimes. Thank goodness I haven't had to deal with this for 4 years now.I love My Apartment.We have Maintenance men to handle all that.

Thank you . Smoke still really bad but no new fires. Got the rain you sent. It felt good and settled the smoke for a day. Such a relief not to smell it. But today we're socked in again. An apartment would feel great right now!

hurricanes are horrible. As one is part Dutch we here are busy collecting money, food, water, etc. Your house did flood, how horrible. I hope it will never happen here or a hurricane.

Our land was just lower then the neighbors. What they did was built a newer house on the left of us & on the right 2 doors down they did the same thing.So our land & my neighbor right next doors land would flood & right in the house it would come.We sold the house to down size & whoever bought it must have had the same problem & tore down the house & garage.They still have the big metal shed there.but they are going to have to build that land up in order to stop the flooding.
How long have you had the fires & Smoke this year? Hugssss

Monday september 18th: Just got a call from the store (where i filed a complaint about the rude way i was treated). The manager was very sorry about it and apologized to me. She will contact the store and the person to talk about it. So happy camper now.

the whole of Holland is helping. As St. Maarten.is part Dutch so we all stand together and help.

Dry here now, finally. I could put my washings outside. I just had a half day at work, i needed it.

, the first fire was in June I think. Then it grew until they were reporting 150 to 151 every day and still are. They get some under control, then there are more added. We had a skiff of snow on the tallest mountains one day and have had mornings that were freezing. Froze our tomato plants so I had to pick them all and throw the plants out. It's been raining all night and still is. Just a fine rain but it's better than nothing and is suppose to get hot again. Such crazy weather!

OMGosh! That is a lot of fires =( How do they ever get all those fires out.I totally agree with you about the weather being crazy.

, I'm wondering if they ever will. Where there are no houses involved they're just letting them burn themselves out. There have been groups of firemen coming and rotating from all over Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. There hasn't been anything like this in B.C since 1903. Really appreciating our green, green city - so far. By the U. S. border, there are grass fires. Everything is so dry. We just need rain. In B.C. a lot of them start in forests from camp fires and cigarettes stubs. All of the parks are closed now. There have been 65,000 people evacuated up to this point. Very few towns burned right up, praise God.
