June 21: Recommend a favorite summertime book to read or a favorite relaxing summertime music album. Summertime favorite book, hands down for me, is Little House on the Prairie. It is just perfect to settle back in a hammock and get lost in that world. XD <3 so says the inner childhood me.

I love the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan. They take place during the summer usually and it's super fun! :)

summertime reading Did you mean: anytime reading? As if I'd ever restrict my reading by seasons. Or anything else, for that matter.

giggles I'm currently reading Furies of Calderon, the first in the Codex Alera series, and I adore it. It tells the tale as if that world is normal, and builds it up as you go along. Supposedly this book came out of a dare/bet. The idea was that even the best writer couldn't take a lame idea and make somethign awesome out of it. The two lame concepts chosen for the challenge were Pokemon and the lost Roman legion. And...well. Clearly we know an author of sufficient skill can make a great story out of anything, as we have proof right here. Highly recommend this book. Not for the young, however. There's some heavy and adult themes.

The way some people spell makes me wonder about their pronunciation. My CW shop, and my ping group

June 21: Recommend a favorite summertime book to read or a favorite relaxing summertime music album.

Honestly, the books I enjoy reading I wouldn't necessarily call relaxing. (Case in point - this week I've been re-reading The Last Herald-Mage Trilogy by Mercedes Lackey for the millionth time, and it's really tragic.) I don't know any books I enjoy that are especially summer-related, but I would say the Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer is one of my other favorite series to Lackey's Valdemar series (that I mentioned before) is something that's more on the enjoyable / lighthearted side of what I enjoy. It's fun, witty, and sarcastic, full of intriguing little plots and lots of flavor. Definitely something I'd recommend; heck, I might even re-read them this summer myself.

I don't exactly listen to full albums, either. I'm more of the type of individual who gets attached to individual songs, although I would say Super Danganronpa 2's OST has a bit of tropical / summer flair to it. I'd say Beautiful Ruin [Summer Salt] fits the theme pretty well, and I personally find it relaxing / something I listen to when I need a sense of calm. Wonderful Dead 005 from Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls is another one I'd say reminds me of summer / tropical shenanigans even though that's not the context in-story. I also find this one relaxing and enjoyable; ignore its name for the record, it's got spunk. Miss Monomi's Practice Lesson is also widely regarded as being one of the best tracks from SDR2; I'm not really sure if it counts as summer-related or not, but it personally gives off that vibe to me. Maybe it's because the entirety of SDR2 is set on a tropical island, ahaha. Honestly, don't mind me; I just really like the Danganronpa franchise.

The most 'summertime' book for me would be To Kill a Mockingbird. I mean, it's also a good fall book, but so much of the book talks about and takes place in summer in a small town not too unlike my own so much it often feels like I'm taken back to my Scout-age days. (The tiny town I was in then was very much stuck in time, but...I'm glad I got to be there for it.) When I read it I can almost feel those lazy summer days again.

summertime book......... i can't really think of a book that reminds me of summer too much, besides maybe the amber spyglass by phillip pullman, but it's the third in his trilogy and the first book def seems more like a winter book to me xD maybe an album is better - artifacts by variance is my go-to relaxation tune, and i associate it with qatar, which is always warm and breezy ^^
