Thank you for the ping my love! (I love you!! :* )

Hmm. My favorite "summer" book would probably be Shearwater (Ocean Depths series ) by Derek Murphy. It is about Mermaids so I feel like it works as a "summer" book fairly well, it also fits as a mystery in some ways as well. Don't trust the Amazon ratings, as it is the second release for the book. It is a free Amazon book though, I'm pretty sure 100% free but it may just be for Kindle Unlimited. It is worth a read though.

Wanna join the fun guys?

Watch for that moment... and when it comes, do not hesitate to leap.

I'm going to pick an old classic that I liked as a young reader many moons ago: Reflections on a Gift of Watermelon Pickle by Stephen Dunning It's a collection of poems that are fun to read. :)

June 21: Recommend a favorite summertime book to read or a favorite relaxing summertime music album.

Aristotle and Dante discover the secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz. It's a light book with an easy-to-follow style that flows beautifully, about discovering oneself and falling in love for the first time. Some of the most vivid and poetic language I've ever read in a book, and Sáenz doesn't make it corny or pretentious. All the characters feel very real, and I'd say that the book brings up many points that resonate with lgbt youth across the world, struggling with similar experiences, at least it did that to me.

SPOILER (click to toggle) it has a happy ending, too, which is rare for lgbt stories! tw for transphobic and homophobic violence in a few passing scenes though, since it deals with some heavier themes despite having an overall lighter theme.

Stay Gold by First Aid Kit is such a good album for road trips and longer car rides, especially if you drive in the countryside, with fields and forests rolling by ❤️

I agree with - I don't have any particular summertime reading (or music for that matter).

For a summertime album, I guess I would recommend Sermon on the Mound by John McCutcheon, one of my favorite folk music artists (and a great hammer dulcimer player). Thiis qualifies as a summertime album because it is his baseball album.

For a child age audience (or a family with young children) I would recommend Tom Chapin's album This Pretty Planet.

Recommend A Favorite Summertime Book:

Well, I don't know if its considered a "summertime" book (Or rather... series), but it can have summertime elements to them. So... I recommend anything in Jim Butcher's Dresden Files Series. Its a fun addictive series that I've come to really enjoy over the years. :)

Favorite summer book series- Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan. I know it's more of a kid's series, but I love re-reading them. The books are actually set in summer, so it's fun to imagine going on adventures like that.

Why not both!

In terms of books its a hard choice, but one of my favorite books to re read every few summers is 'The Princess Bride'. Not only is the movie a favorite of mine, but the book elaborates even more on the crazy trials Wesley goes through to get to his true love. I have always been the sort to read any book a movie I cherish is based on, and while some arent as up to par this one holds true and even beats it in some aspects. Very much worth the read for anyone, be it new to the story or an old fan of the movie.

Album wise, I am really digging an italian duo made up of Ilaria Graziano and Francesco Forni. Specifically their album 'From bedlam to lenane' Her voice is so light and wonderful, while his guitar accompaniment and side vocals mix beautifully. I especially reccomend the song 'Roso Che Manca Di Sera', and if you prefer your music in english then 'Love Sails'.

oooooooooooh boy. My summer books aren't really summer-y, because I don´t read thematically. So what I associate as "summer read" is whatever I read in summer, even if the book is set in winter or whatever.

BUT "Ocean Eyes" from Owl City and "My Head is an Animal" by Of Monsters and Men are absolutely my favourite summer Albums. They give me all the relaxing, chill and natural, adventure and happy vibe that I love in summer!
