Heheh, I'm sitting here in a chilly house begging Monday to get here. Something's gone wrong with one of my breaker switches so three rooms don't have light and my heater isn't running. I don't want to pay weekend rates for an electrician.

that doesn't sound good but it sounds like a loose wire at the breaker or the breaker switch could just be broken .... I hope it is nothing to serious and how cold is it where you are right now ... it is 75 here where I am at and it only is getting down in the upper 50's to lower 60's at night

I'm hoping it's not serious either. When I tried it with the bedroom light on the light flickered but didn't come completely on, so something may just not be connecting right. At the moment the sun is shining and the TV room is warming up a bit. It got down to 59, it's up to 62 now. I borrowed a space heater from my brother and I may just sleep in the TV room tonight with the dogs.

it sounds like you might have a breaker that might be broken or the wires is loose in the back of the breaker I wouldn't use it for any reason until someone comes and looks at it for you ... you should close off the tv room so the heat stays in there better just a hang a few sheets up over the doors so the heat just stays in that area and it wont cost as much to heat up all the space your not going to be using stay safe

Yeah, I'm not messing with the breaker any more. The thought of an electrical fire scares me silly. When I do run it in a bit I'll close the doors most of the way and it should get cozy.

that should work ... I keep it cold in my house I have the windows and doors open right now I'm hoping it gets nice and cool tonight so it will feel good in the house for the night my wife thinks I am crazy because she wants the heat on if it drops below 60 not me i like it around 50 at night

my wife complains all the time that it is cold in the house at night well even in the summer time I usually kept the temp around 65 and she thought that was cold it has been getting around 50 at night here for the last couple of nights and she wants to turn the heat on and I want to open all the windows and turn the fans on she gets really mad but I cant stand being hot

Nothing causes more conflict than two people with different thermometers. When I was in college I had a screaming door-slamming fight with my suitemates in the middle of the night over the heat.

My thermostat is much different than my husband. We got rid of our water bed because we couldn't adjust to the different temps! LoL (dredging up ancient memories here!)

My Blessed memory (colander) remembers no such fights from my youth, for which I am ever so thankful! hehehe

I know I fight with my family all year long about how it is to cold in the house all the time I keep it at a modest 65 in the winter and the summer so if they get cold then they can put more clothes on i can't take my skin off if I could I would I am like a grizzly bear or a polar bear lol I like it cold

Count yourself lucky. It's a wonder we weren't all thrown out of the college. I can see turning the heat down, but they were insane and turned the heat OFF. In a cinderblock building. It was as cold inside as outside.

I'm just the opposite. I can't tolerate the cold. One time when I was a teenager I ran a temp of 103. I couldn't think straight to save my life, but I remember thinking how marvelous it was to be warm for once.

I prefer the heat also, but getting old(er), I see that the heat is beginning to wear on me. Too cold, too hot, too this too that. Oh no!

Heheh, I can't wander around in 100 degree heat like I used to, but I don't function well at anything under 70. I keep the house at around 70 all year round and I love to sit outside in the summer. I made an appt. with an electrician for tomorrow morning, so I just have to make it through one more night.
