Not really a big fan of chocolate chip pancakes.... LOL I think a lot of people do nice things for me, but since our family is in reduced circumstances it can be difficult for us to do things back. So a couple of weeks ago, I remarked that I can make a full Thanksgiving style spread that is pretty amazing. One of the women I'm in book club with offered to buy us a giant turkey if I could open my home for book club. I didn't want them to buy a turkey that big, and suggested that it would be cheaper to just let me get a couple of chickens because this time of year, turkeys are much more expensive. She told me not to worry about it and a day later another friend from book club gave me a couple of twenties to buy everything else needed for the spread. Altogether, I opened our home to a bunch of book club friends, baked a gorgeous cran-orange turkey with all the trimmings, and had a great time. It was a win-win for hospitality!

I went to brunch and did not have chocolate chip pancakes.

True story though, we did surprise my friend at a nice restaurant with a birthday brunch. I bought her a bouquet of pink ranunculus. The look on her face was awesome and I was so happy that she was pleased.
