I am having the same issue. I just joined this past week and I have always had trouble viewing clothing items with the hover preview. Most thing seems ok, ie: backgrounds, held item, hairs, face items, etc. I just seem to have issues with the main clothing items, like tops and bottoms. I can see some of them, but for the most part it's just a broken image link.

I know its not a solution to the problem, but if you do need to see an item preview, you can search for the item on SubetaLodge. Its annoying to have to look stuff up on a different site, but until they fix the problem, its an option.

Either way, its an annoying glitch that will hopefully be fixed soon.

What makes this weird is that it's not for all users. So something must be different between the two categories, though it might not be in the user data directly if, say, something in the code hashes the username or user ID to assign users to different buckets (e.g. server clusters, database shards, etc). If there's something wrong on just one of them it would get behavior like this, perhaps?

It's only the gendered items that aren't working for me-- the indicator which one should be shown is missing If the image id is copied to a url bar and the indicator manually added, it works. What determines that indicator?

I'm having the same issues. Don't know if this can help fixing the problem, but to me the "broken preview" always happens with clothing. Hair, head, eyes, background, dolls, etc always work. Shirts, pants, dresses, skirts, sometimes may not work.

just wanted to chime in and say that i'm having the exact same issue. i'm also on a new account and i'm not able to see my HA base on any item previews, and all of the gendered clothes have broken images in the hover preview. hoping this can be fixed soon!

I've also been having this problem. Both of my genders are set to male, but I did swap between m/f a few times in the editor just out of curiosity. If I remember, it was doing this before. I've been signed up since the 7th.

Popping in to say I found this topic while googling a fix for this very issue (hope you don't mind the bump). I guess it happens mostly with new accounts? (mine is about a week old, almost) so perhaps there's a time period where it happens and then it'll fix itself? Hm. Certainly is frustrating.

i'm coming up on my 8th anniversary so i don't fit in with the new accounts having troubles, but i swapped over to a male HA around the 20th last month and i'm still seeing female previews s:

Oh, I didn't know the item previews were supposed to have the avatar body in them.. a lot of the preview images are broken for me too but the avatar never shows up (there's always a broken image icon in the corner even if the item has loaded).

Having the same issue, new account Works on only few images, and doesn't work well on the cash shop page and shop search page, also main shops.

Everything seems to be working, thanks so much! Makes the site SO much easier to use.
